"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

We went to the party on 11/10 and were disappointed. I thought it was too crowded. The lines were as long as they were during the days at the park. I don't think I will choose to go to the Christmas party again.
We went to the party on the 15th- with a plan!!!! No meet and greets- just rides and party specific stuff. Never got to see any shows in tomorrowland! Went on Jingle Cruise-30 minute wait and Space Mountain! That was it for rides! Saw both parades, castle lighting (beautiful), went to 2 snack stations- eggnog and ginger cookies were good- the blue sno cones were ok but the cookies there were a joke!! Way too much money and not enough time! We were in the park at 11:00. The grandkids were so disappointed that it was too long of a wait for 7DMT! I can't imagine people waiting in line for characters- don't they miss the rest?

Following this thread so I can make an informed decision about next year. I'm actually leaning towards NOT going, which is surprising given that it was one of my "must do" things when we decided we're going during Christmastime next year. But we're three adults (me and my 70+ year old parents), and I just don't know that it's worth over $300 to see a parade and meet some characters. We're staying at the Grand, so we can watch the fireworks from there.

One question though. Is there ANYWHERE else to meet Santa Goofy outside of the party? My mother wants to meet him, LOL.

He's at Minnie's Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine for dinner. He might be meeting at AK as well. He's also the VIP guest at the JBJB dessert party this year.

Awesome! Thanks for the tips! I just watched JBJB on Youtube and it looks pretty cool! Might do that dessert party next year. And we might have to hop over to AK if he's going to be there. Pandora will be opened by then anyway, and I kind of want to see that!

Thanks again!

What are your dates? We met Santa Goofy at Disney Springs the day after Christmas last year.

Tips on meeting sandy claws? Waiting in line at 5 seems crazy. Even if I got in line after the 1st parade will it be around an hour wait?

We've got 3 kids under 4 and grumpy husbands who weren't happy about our twoish hour wait for 7D at MNSSHP

So far:
FP 325-630
If done with rides early try for Jingle Cruise
Donald and Scrooge 630-7
?? 7-8 Dinner
8 Line up for parade

Kids can probably make it until 10. Don't care about fireworks. Thanks!

I'm looking for some advice for a plan to see as much as we can at our first Christmas Party. We are 2 adults. We want to focus on the atmosphere, the shows, the treats and maybe a few rides if they fit in. The only meet & greet we need to do is the 7 Dwarfs.

Can anybody help us with a strategy?

Line up for the dwarfs by 5:30 and you'll be done before the party starts at 7 (they come out at 6:15).

Watch the 2nd parade - it will be far less crowded.

I agree with the above post - also I was out all day so I needed dinner - and just got QS on my way from the Sandy Claws line to the Dwarf line and ate in line so I didn't waste any time with a "meal". It's not like I had something better to do while waiting...

Has anyone met the Country Bears this year? I read that they are roaming this year and don't have a specific spot. Can someone explain this to me, how do you find them?

We don't do any rides during the parties, for us it is all about the shows, the parade, the fireworks and meeting characters. We also do 2 parties to ensure we get time to do all of the above.

Ok so we have 2 parties booked Tues November 29 and Thurs Dec 8. My kids want to meet Judy/Nick, Sandy claws, the princes w/princesses, 7 Dwarfs(but can drop this one if need) Scrooge, the 100 Acre gang,Minnie and Mickey in their outfits. We also want to see the 2nd parade and FW the Mickey stage show and TL show. I figure we will watch the Frozen castle lights on a non party night. We can split the shows up like the castle one night TL the other. Is this doable between the 2 nights. We're not doing rides or ADR's at all and are willing to line up early like at 4. I was thinking since Sandy doesn't meet until 7 of lining up with the kids at Judy/Nick since they come out early and meeting DH in the line for Sandy Claws. My DS has sensory issues but I will bring his DS (with headphones)so he can distract himself while in line as long as I keep a buffer so no one bumps him. Any ideas? Thanks.

Do the characters meet the entire party?
They meet all night, but lines will get cut off once CMs feel that the current line will take the characters to the end of the party. So it's not like a ride where you can get in line at 11:59 and still get in, in most cases.

I wish you had gone to guest services to let them know what was happening. I'm so disappointed to hear about this. We'll already be in the park when we get our wristbands so we won't know what's happening at the front gate, but I sure hope they put an end to this practice. What a slap in the face to all of us who paid for the privilege of attending!

Looking back, I wish I had gone to guest services, too. You're right -- it's definitely a slap in the face to all of us who paid for the privilege of attending, especially with the way those ticket prices are going up every year!

Has anyone met Bert & Mary yet this year? Are they in their "winter gear" or Jolly Holiday costumes? TIA!

Does anyone that's been to the parties already this year have details on any of the special PhotoPass pictures available?
