"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

I am surprised they skipped the Thursday party for Nov 17th. That actually kinda screws up my plans, but I'll make do.

If I buy tickets for the MVMCP but need to change the dates to another day later will they let me switch or not at all? Thanks!
They can do it, but you can't count on it unfortunately. Though the official policy is that you can't, I have heard stories of people being able to switch thanks to a kindly CM.

I am in the same boat. I have been re-writing my plan based on this new info. I suspect it is related to this Thursday was not crowded last year. It could be they just didn't sell enough tickets last year to this party to make it worth doing this year. Part of me wonders that if the demand was low for this Thursday, will this turn into a "Disney After Hours" event night? If Disney only has 10,000 guests who want to go to 11/17 event, see how many are willing to pay $150 a pop for 10-1 access.

DH is over the moon with happiness. This is the first year we are going for his birthday AND for Christmas and the day we arrive is his birthday AND a party night! I'm so excited for him. He's not the type to get excited but he was ecstatic when I told him there was a party on his birthday! He has been hoping for this since we booked last year! I can't wait!!

We are going 12/16 - 12/23. I was hoping a party would be held in the middle of our trip, maybe on a Tuesday. But instead our choices are either the 2nd day (18th) or the last day (22nd). I am debating over which would be better.

Anyone have an idea as to which would be more crowded? I know the weekends are usually more crowded but since they've also never done a party so close to Christmas I am wondering if the 22nd will be more crowded.

And we like to end our trip at MK but if I don't do the party on the 22nd I don't want to go to MK with a 7pm close and not get to see the fireworks and the parade one last time... But, if we go to the party on the 22nd we will be there until close and probably not back at the room until 1am or later, which would mean getting up early to head home that much harder.

Decisions, Decisions.... Anyone have any advice/thoughts on this? Thanks!

I'd say if you have to get up early to leave on the 23rd, then you should do the one on the 18th. When people say that parties on the weekends are usually more crowded, they mean the parties on Fridays, because more locals go to those because they don't have to worry about getting up early for work or school the next day. That wouldn't be the case on a Sunday night party.

We are a family of 14 going to Disney World Nov. 12- 19th! Need advice about mvmcp! Ages 7-65 Is it worth it? Should I book early or wait until I know what the weather will be? Has anyone found out when parties were sold out in 2015? We went to mnsshp in 2013 and enjoyed it except it was more crowded than expected. This is our second trip and probably our last- I planned a perfect trip the last time and we had two 80 year olds with us! Hoping this trip is as magical- any advice is so appreciated!

That makes sense, thanks! Still sad my last day will not be at MK but maybe we can end with HS Minnie's Holiday Dine and Fantasmic.pixiedust:

Wow, there going with 4 nights during Jersey week (don't hate me please :P). Also showing a big gap during Thanksgiving week. Can we draw any conclusion as to when they'll tape the Christmas Parade special from this list? Knowing that the dates are always subject to change.

I ask for obvious selfish reasons. My wife and brother (and his family) will be in from Nov 6th thru the 12th. These dates for MVMCP actually work perfectly for us. The only potential fly in the ointment o_O is if they decide to tape the Christmas parade during that week.

Any thoughts?

If you are worried about the parade taping bringing crowds to the party, don't worry! In general, that week will already be somewhat crowded that time, even with out the parade taping. I went last year Nov 5-14th. The mvmcp I went to was on Thurs Nov 12th, also one of the days of the parade taping. It was crowded during the day, but it was the best MVMCP I've been to! Most of the night we were the only ones walking around certain areas. We had such a good time and that was mainly because it was not sold out and was not crowded at all. A sold out party is a big difference from a party that is not sold out. That night was the most enjoyable night of the whole trip. You would have never known they were doing the parade taping all day.

So in theory the Festival of Fantasy Parade will run until December 22, then it will switch over to the Christmas parade on the 23rd? Is that right? I really hope so I love both parades and was kind of upset we were not going to be able to see the FoF parade on this trip.

That's what they've always done in the past.

Anyone know when the tickets go on sale and best way to get them?

Typically, they've gone on sale in early May, but last year they went on sale April 8.

I'm glad that the tickets are going on sale early so we can plan around that for the 180+10 food reservations. Candlelight processional is much more frustrating because that happens in August and we have to double-plan food until announcers are released and we can pick our favorite between options during our trip time.

That happened to us this past holiday season that our arrival day was my husband's birthday and party night.
