"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Sooo this may have been said but i notice tonite there are a ton of people without wristbands and they arent being asked to leave. Anyone else notice this? Just looking around where im sitting and i see about 15 people without any...i feel like that isnt fair. They were super strict for halloween last year

Reviews on cookies please

The cookies were terrible! Which made me very sad because I really wanted to like them. They had this really weird aftertaste, like they had used a lot of preservatives. The hot chocolate was ok though. They also had apple juice available which was nice. They had a lot of staff handing out the cookies and drinks so we pretty much were able to walk right up whenever we wanted something.

I've looked through the thread and I haven't found quite the info I'm looking for. I have questions about the dessert party during the Christmas party. It says check-in 60 minutes prior. Do all guests have to be there during check-in? 60 minutes prior would be around 7:30 which would be very close to the first parade time. We were planning on getting our spot on main street around 7. If one person can run over and check-in that would be ok but if everyone has to go we may have to figure something else out.
It's an ADR, so your entire party must be together when you check in.
You don't have to check in right at 60 minutes before the fireworks.
The fireworks start at 9:30 on party nights I believe. The first parade says it's at 8:15 on the Disney website. I would just watch the parade then head straight to the dessert party. The tables are assigned so they won't give yours away.

Your ADR time should be about 60 minutes prior to the start of the fireworks (mine is 8:35), so that's the "hour prior." You don't have to check in an hour prior to your ADR.

Chasiti, we were at the party Thursday and were able to find the sequined Minnie ears at the park easily. We bought ours at the hat shop on Main Street but they were available at multiple locations, including the carts when you first walk into the park. Hope this helps! Have a great time :earsboy:
Were there any of the green sequenced ones?

I was there tonight, had a great time! It was our first party so I don't have anything to compare it to but we were able to:
See Elsa light up the castle from a good viewing spot
Eat at Casey's right after & got a table to sit at
Get a front row spot to watch the parade in Frontier Land 15 minutes before the parade
Find a spot on Main Street by Casey's to watch the fireworks (castle in center view)

I liked the cookies & hot chocolate. The cookies weren't "to die for" but I would have made a trip for more if we weren't going on rides.

I wish we could have stayed later (made it till 10:30) but my 5 year old was extremely tired & my 18 month was asleep in the stroller.

Finally updated the OP a bit with 2015 information.
I must have just missed you when I posted yesterday, but if you get a chance while updating, I switched my planned party day from Dec 3rd and finally bought my tickets for Dec 10th!

Also THIS year I can't go to the Christmas party due to me getting a huge promotion and not wanting to ask the boss for a day off in my "90 day" probation time period. However, vacation picks for the new year came out.....

I'm going to Disney Cruise in January
I'm going to Aulani in December
I'm going to the Christmas Party in November next year

So I lost the battle this year, however I did go to the Halloween party this year!

Congrats on the big promotion, that's awesome! Not so great you can't do the party as I know you were really looking forward to the Xmas party this year! But, nice that you have a few other trips planned to help make up for it!

Ok, that makes sense. So we'll be good just heading over after the parade.

Thanks for this report! Did you watch the first or second castle lighting? I am assuming the first one since you had time for dinner in between that and the parade. We are traveling with little ones too and I was starting to be discouraged about getting a front row spot for the first parade. Sounds like it's doable! We aren't planning on doing many rides or attractions, except maybe ETWB and A&E since we couldn't get FP for our other two MK days. Do you think there is time to fit these two in before the first parade? We plan to enter at 4 and have 3 FP lined up for rides before the party starts at 330/430/530 for HM/Jungle cruise/POTC.

We were at the party last night, and had a great time! A much better experience than MNSSHP, I have to say, and yet if you'd asked me ahead of time, I would have told you MNSSHP would have been my favorite.

We arrived at MK around 4pm and were able to use FP+ for Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and Dumbo, before the party started. We also rode IASW (DS's favorite!), the carousel, and Mickey's Philharmagic. We got dinner at Pinocchio's Village Haus around 6.30pm, then wandered over towards the castle. We got pretty great seats around 7pm, on the sidewalk in front of the castle next to a garbage can, and we decided to stay there and camp out. DH was dispatched to get hot chocolate and cookies; the hot chocolate was actually very good, but not hot, just lukewarm. The cookies were terrible!

The 7.30pm castle show was delayed by about 10 minutes, but when it did start, for the most part we had a good view. DH was holding DS2 in his arms and he could see just fine, as could I. Well then one person puts a kid on their shoulders, then another does and soon we couldn't see a thing. DH ended up putting DS on his shoulders too, just because he couldn't see anything at that point and he was the only kid NOT on someone's shoulders! I couldn't see anything though! Everybody pretty much stayed put for the castle lighting, which was only a few minutes after the show, and then people began to disperse after that.

We had one hell of a job holding our seats for the parade! DH and I were sat on the curb, and DS was next to us in his stroller. We had people trying to sneak in between us and the stroller, people asking if we could move back so they could sit in front of us, I felt like I was constantly telling people, "nope, we're sat here!" My favorite was the lady who started to pull DS's stroller back from behind; I asked what she was doing, and she said she wanted to make room for her kids to sit in front of his stroller! I had some choice words for her!

But holding the seats was worth it, we had a great view of the parade! My favorite part was how the different floats had different scents; I loved the peppermint scent from Goofy's float! We headed out after the parade because DS was falling asleep, but we really had a great time!

I know, the parades are VERY important to me. I HAVE to see Cindy with her prince and 6 white horses! Because I'm a senior and I'm camped out early, people think they can "hop" in front of me with their children! Ummm, no sorry, but I got here early to be able to see. I'm very polite , but firm. I think I would have probably freaked though if someone had the hutzpah to touch my child's baby carriage!
Glad you had a good time, thank you for posting!
Did you try any of the special party only desserts that you pay for? The cupcakes are sooooo cute!

Lol yeah I couldn't believe this lady! When I told her that her kids would certainly not be sitting in front of my son's stroller, she huffed and puffed and told her kids loudly "that mean lady won't let you sit there!" This mean lady has been here for nearly two hours to hold this spot, maybe you should have done the same!

I tried the teddy bear cupcake, it was almost too cute to eat! It was very good though; the quality of Disney's cupcakes always surprises me! I offered to share it but luckily no one wanted any, I got to eat the whole thing!
