I am planning my most fabulous trip yet! We are spending 22 days in WDW! May 30-June 20 I have booked the Royal Guest room at POR and we planned a surprise night at the Nick Hotel.

Wow! sounds like you have an awesome vacation planned. I want to hear all about the Nick hotel cause I have thought about taking our kids there. Have a magical time. You are so lucky.

My first Disney trip was when I was 5 and I can't tell you what my first souvenir was. However, I can tell you my favorite souvenir! It's a coffee cup that has pictures of the characters riding the different attractions around the world and it has mom written on the handle. My dh and middle dd picked it out for me as a surprise on our last trip. It makes me smile every morning when I drink my coffee.

There are 9's!!!!! Oh man, I cannot believe how bad the crowds are going to be. I thought this was a slower time of year? sigh.

Terri, were you looking at perhaps 2011 for the 1st week of May by mistake?

We chose the last week of April and 1st week of May for 2012 specifically for the combination of nice weather and not huge crowds.

A 6 or 7, sure; 9?

•April 30, 2012: Magic Kingdom Crowd Level 9.0
•May 03, 2012: Magic Kingdom Crowd Level 8.8
•May 05, 2012: Resort-wide Crowd Level 8

I wonder if it has something to do with part of Fantasyland opening?? The numbers are crazy!

I am signed up for email updates, if there are any changes to the crowd calendar for our time frame. (4/29-5/10) We also choose this time, hoping that it would be nice weather and not too crowded. It seems like there is an increase overall, but the worst seems to be Magic Kingdom. That is why I am thinking it has to do with parts of Fantasyland opening up.

Holy moly!! Those are some crazy numbers. Well, I hope it evens out as May draws nearer. I've never been to WDW with those kinds of crowd levels. Good thing we spent a lot of time at Magic Kingdom this past trip, because we may be avoiding it for May if these crowd levels hold true...

Noooooo, please don't let that be true. I did my best to avoid Spring Break, Easter and any UK or US holiday as I wanted low crowd levels.

Last time mum and I went was Easter 2006 and crowds were a bit crazy, don't really want to repeat that.
Easywdw has levels at 4 and 5 out of 10, I'm sure it was 3 and 4 when I last looked

Yeah I'm expecting crowds in the 6-7 range. First week of Star Wars Weekend this year my aunt and family said the crowds weren't that bad. I'm going the same time next year and hopefully be expecting the same.

From what I experienced on my last trip. January is the time to go. I'm talking about crowd status at like 3-4 tops.

Yeah I'm guessing that will be the last week of May crowds will be super crazy and not the rest of the month.

Whom are you getting your crowd calendar from? I use touring plans and their numbers for the 30th and 3rd are lower.

We'll be on (free UK) QSDP when we're at WDW and I've been considering adding a few TS meals or maybe just a couple of breakfast buffets but I cant quite justify the cost because we were going to stay at POP but booked CSR to get 'free' dining plan.
We'll be dining off site a couple of nights to get out of the 'disney bubble'

But I still think I should book at least one meal to celebrate my mum's birthday 5 days before our trip.

We got the free dining offer in the UK & upgraded our free QSDP into the DDP for the TS credits. The places highlighted in red are where we have eaten before. This was difficult to put together with fussy eaters & the 180+10 isn't as helpful with 21 days to book for. 2 weeks of booking meals during my lunch break!

Now need to find things to do for 160 days...
