Official May 2009 Thread....The wait is on!!

I've been looking too.. I'm honestly surprised because I didn't think May was ever that busy!! I'm trying not to be overly concerned though, I'm confident in the fact that I know how to navigate a busy park while most other people will be clueless:rotfl2:

PS- 1 MONTH MARK.. and I'm 21:)

Me too. I am hopeful. I know the drill! up early for rope drop, hit the popular rides, back to the resort for the pool and nap, back to the parks for the parades and night rides! I just hope the parks don't close where I can't get back in!:rotfl:

Unless you have the liberty of changing your plans, don't stress about the crowd levels. You will still be at Disney, you will still ride the rides and you will still have a blast!!! My hubby and I have never actually gone during a non-"10" time so I guess it won't be too much different for us! Was hoping for a bit of a reprieve from the crowds since we are taking DS4, but we will still make it as fun as possible! Heck, DS would be happy to sit in the hotel room and watch the disney channel all morning and swim in the pool all afternoon.....haha!

I honesty do not believe that the crowds will be anywhere near spring break or Easter crowds that they are having now. May has always been relatively nice as far as crowds go-not too busy but not dead either. Even with the deals, the crowds may be up a level but not 3-4 levels.

That being said, if I am totally wrong and the crowds are horrible, I have no problem hanging out at the hotel or going over to US/IOA instead of the Disney parks. Fortunately I have my own non-exp tickets and can be flexible with park days.

Even crowded, it will be Disney and not WORK!:thumbsup2

Can I get an Amen.

I so agree with this:thumbsup2. I really don't see WDW being as crowded in May as they are at spring break.

Your dates should probably be good since you won't touch Memorial Day Weekend or any Star Wars Weekends. I actually went to Disney twice during Spring Break in my "youth" and did Memorial Day Weekend a few years back. Believe it or not, it was more crowded Memorial Day Weekend (but I'm talking Fri-Mon not the whole week).

The F&GF will make Epcot busy for you if you wanted to do that on a weekend date, but otherwise I think it should be good. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

And as for my upcoming May trip. Not even a 10 crowd could keep my obi-wannabe self and little padawan away from DHS during SWW. :darth::yoda::chewy::ewok:

and I was there for just a few hours one time and there is no way I would do it again! Well, maybe for a grandchild but it would take a lot of begging!:lmao:

i go down Memorial Day week every year, the crowds aren't bad, but then i go solo and go with the flow, the way i look at it is, as long as i don't feel like a sardine in a can walking around, or stand in a line for more then 30 min. [a break from the sun] then its not bad at all. But as for crowds, the biggest i've seen was when i went at CHRISTMAS time. :scared1:

Very excited I'm only one month away now. I'm not too worried about the crowds. I went last year May 14-23 and they weren't bad at all. When it got closer to the weekend (Memorial day) I noticed the crowds getting bigger...but not un-manageable. Like someone said I would rather be at WDW crowded than at work any day!:thumbsup2

I'm still waiting for my Disney documents though. I can't wait to get that Mickey mail. One question...does it come regular mail or ups?:confused3

Happy weekend everyone!!

Seeing as how I've been at work today for 18 hours, I would much rather be in WDW with crowds than to be here at work right now :sad1:

18 hours:eek: Bless you! Nothing can keep my interest for 18 hours:lmao: Too old and senile I guess!:rotfl2:You really do start reverting back to childhood. Maybe that's why Disney is so great to me - loved it as a child - love it as a "mature" person:lmao:

Hope your day is better. We are counting down to May, remember?:cool1:

Thanks for your assessment of the crowds. I see we go at the same time. DH is really worried about the lines w/ DS2.
Have a great weekend! Everyone. Our WDW is getting closer

The crowds are so crazy this week because of where Easter fell. Nobody panic!

The crowds will be managable in May. Maybe a little higher than last year with the new deals out. The long weekend maybe a little worse. Decide what your must do's are and plan around that each day.

Of course if you're in Epcot in France at 3pm on the 17th you may feel like you've hit a small wall of people. :thumbsup2:rotfl:

If anyone i staying at Pop ay 24th thru 31st there is a fridge swap available !! It's the one that says Nemo found our fridge !!

We leave May 14th for Ellie's first trip! She'll be 14 months old and won't remember a thing but we don't care! Can't wait to see her face with all the sights, sounds, and characters! We'll have PLENTY of pictures and videos to prove she was there!

Hoping for less crowds than are being predicted right now but we'll have a blast anyway!!
