Official May 2009 Thread....The wait is on!!

I keep reading of people receiving their Magical Express vouchers with about 30 days to go. I'm at 25 and nothing yet... it's driving me crazy. I so look forward to going to the mailbox and the lack of Mickey mail is very disappointing. A little overly dramatic, I know, but I figured everyone here would understand.

Is anyone else still waiting for their stuff?

My travel agent said that it probably will not come in time, but she'll write up a letter for me?? I don't know why it can't come on time. I booked in plenty of time.

In any case, with this trip, I think we might handle on own luggage. I just hope we can get on Magical Express!

I think people booking through Disney travel agents receive their paperwork sooner. At least that's what I remember from doing that a few years ago. This time I booked through American Airlines. I just called them and they said their policy is to send everything out 21 days prior to the trip. For me, that's this Saturday, so I'm happy to hear that and look forward to going to the mailbox next week.

Travel agents need to understand how much some people (me) just can't stand waiting for the proof of an upcoming trip to arrive in their hands.

I wish we would get Mickey mail! We booked with a TA hope she has everything in line for us! In 2007 we booked direct with Disney and rec'd everything on time. Now I am going hmmmm!!!??? We have no need for a car we enjoyed the bus system! Our DD is in a wheelchair and it made travel much easier for our family!

I'm on a quick trip, just May 2-6, staying at POR. I haven't quite worked up to a deluxe yet. LOL!

I'm hoping to get an earlier flight out!

Well, I am leaving a week after you, and I have already started "storing" and "organizing" every thing neatly in my suitcase!

I'd never live it down, if my husband knew my bags were already packed

I have found that I am spending alot on buying new things with this method of "organizing" though! I have more time to shop~

Since my first post here, we have finalized all plans for my dd's "3rd UnBIRTHDAY Celebration. We'll be renting a two room villa at Caribe Royal and we will be staying there with the inlaws.

I'm ok with staying offfsite, since we will be traveling with both a toddler and a MIL with a scooter. I think that having our own vehicle is a must. I just hope that expected crowd levels don't increase even more, b/c I'd hate to be shut out of the park, b/c I wasn't staying on site. With the amount of money this trip is costing, I'd be heartbroken!

We got all of our documents yesterday. Found out we would make it into Orlando a couple hours earlier than expected. (11:15) I figure we should be at the resort by 1pm. Nothing planned for the first day. Thought about going to MK to scope it out as this is our first trip. We have park hoppers so we are flexible in what we do. Any suggestions? This is our first trip!

I think for first-timers arriving after 1 on your first day can be overwhelming with all the crowds etc. I would suggest spending time at the pool or going to DTD. Take it easy and then arrive at rope drop for your first MK day. Have a magical time!

We are leaving and driving from NJ on the same day to arrive on the same day! I don't even have a suitcase to pack in yet. I say go for it though. Never too early.

ETA: I don't see us in the official list so make that 338 families! May 10-20th offiste. Hopefully celebrating my nephew's graduation and his first trip that he'll remember.

We didn't get our ME tags either when we traveled in Feb. It wasn't a problem for us tho because we didn't check our luggage. If you pick up your own luggage it shouldn't be a problem getting on the ME busses because they will have your names registered at the ME desk. Just maker sure that they have you registered as ME before you leave home. Then when you check in, they will give you the paperwork you will need to use ME when you return back to the airport.

FYI..I received our DME mail at about 40 days and my voucher/souvie luggage tag package at 31 days!


One of the mom's in my DD's preschool class was at Disney last week and said the crowd levels were low. They never had to wait more than 20 minutes and that was for Dumbo. They stayed off-site because her DH was there for a convention and arrived at the parks around noon everyday, but never felt like any of the parks were busy.

Another mom's sister works at MK on Splash Mtn, so I always get the inside scoop from her and her sis said attendance is down and appears to be that way through the summer! We were all baffled as to why UG is showing crowds of 8 & 9!

Driving from our fair state? God bless you guys. I did that once, ONCE and never will I do it again.

I like to fly too much. My driving limit is 10 hours and then i completely loose it after that.

We are driving and so have gotten two mickey mails - one with our dinning plan and confirmation numbers and what not. Then we got the vacation planning DVD the other day. I read that with the magic your way package that you are suppose to get luggage tags it didn't say anything about flying or not. So am I suppose to get some or not?

staring to out a little! We are leaving in a little over 3 weeks and haven't gotten anything yet. We booked through a travel agent and she says she will call us when everything arrives.....shouldn't that be now?!
