***Official March 2021 Thread***

Since we will be visiting Galaxy’s Edge, I want to watch at least one movie with the family so we have some context. What should we start with? (Haven’t seen any).

Which walk?
The contemporay to MK is between 10-15 minute walk (from what I've read in the past). It just depends on your walking speed. The walk from Poly to TTC isn't bad at all because they are really close to one another. I believe it's a shorter walk than the Contemporary to MK but I could be wrong.
from our room @ Poly Moara it was maybe 4/5 minutes at the most. Probably more like 3/4.

I second the post about bringing water!!!!
There are lines for every snack cart to get water, and this week is supposed to be lower crowds than later in the month.
Our first day we did not drink enough water and it drained us. You forget how much time you actually are just standing in the sun here!
Plus the queues are mostly in the open due to distancing. Hot hot hot!

Since we will be visiting Galaxy’s Edge, I want to watch at least one movie with the family so we have some context. What should we start with? (Haven’t seen any).

If you don't want to watch them all, you could watch the last three:
The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi
The Rise of Skywalker

In that order. This introduces you to the characters Rey, Kylo Ren, anfd Finn as well as The first order, etc.

Since we will be visiting Galaxy’s Edge, I want to watch at least one movie with the family so we have some context. What should we start with? (Haven’t seen any).

For galaxy's Edge if you do just 1, The Force Awakens is the most appropriate.

There are subtle hints throughout the land to the older movies but the land itself is set during the time after the force awakens.

Enjoying reading everyone's plans. So here we go!! I am travelling from Michigan with DD 21. We love our Disney trips together. This will be my 3rd trip since they reopened in July and DD's 4th. She went with a friend in January to celebrate her 21st. We fly out of Detroit at 12:36 arriving in Orlando around 3:15. Will pick up a rental car and head to hotel. DD's friend is hoping to fly down and join us on the 28th for the remainder of the trip.

March 25 - Get car and head to Royal Pacific at Universal and check in and get our express passes. Parks are open until 9 so will walk to Universal Studios for Mardi Gras and eat at the food booths and check out the floats. Go to Diagon Alley then head back to hotel.

March 26 - Check out and put cases in car. Walk to Islands of Adventure (Early opening is 7am) and head to Hagrids. Hopefully ride a couple of times. Spend the rest of the day between the two Universal parks and when we have had enough drive to Disney. We traded in with RCI to OKW for the first time and are excited to check it out. We have always stayed at SSR. Get settled in and explore.

March 27 - MK - We are rope droppers so will be getting there early and just having a good day. Have a dinner reservation at Homecomin' at 8:50 pm but other than that we will do whatever we feel like at the time. Depending on hours, may head back to resort for a break.

March 28 - DHS - Try for BG at 7am. Still undecided on how we are going to get there. Car? bus? uber to Speedway and walk? I guess we will figure it out. DD's friend will meet us there at some point depending on her flight time. Plan on eating at Docking Bay and again play it by ear. We are huge Star Wars fans and will spend a lot of time in that area. Dinner reservations for Olivia's at 8:20

March 29 - Woo Hoo!! 4 parks in one day. We have wanted to do this forever. Starting at rope drop in AK. Hit FOP, Safari and Everest lunch at noon at Yak & Yeti then head to MK for 2pm followed by DHS and finally Epcot. We will ride at least one ride and have one snack in each of the parks. Will just have to monitor times.

March 30 - 8:50 reservation at Toppolinos then Epcot for the day. May cancel the reservation especially after the long day the day before and just sleep in. Dinner at Rose & Crown.

March 31 - MK - Dinner at LTT.

April 1 - DHS - Oga's reservation at 3:20 and a Beach's & Cream at 7:55. We will pack our things when we get back because the next morning we are checking into the Grand Floridian :).

April 2 - Leave OKW and head to breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's at 8:20. Drive over to Grand Floridian. Hopefully we will be able to get in our room early. We have wanted to stay here forever. We plan on just enjoying the resort all day. We have an early evening dinner reservation at San Angel Inn then plan to head back to see the Electric Light Pageant from the hotel.

April 3 - Walk to MK to get in early. Spend the day in the park until we have to go back to the hotel and get the car to head to airport for a 6pm flight back to Michigan. Cry a bit until my next visit :(.

I have to say that I am loving the no planning that Disney is at the moment other than ADR's. Pre-covid I was a minute by minute kind of girl. We have been going Spring Break since 2016 (Covid stopped the trip last year) and are used to the heat and the huge crowds. Even with FP in the past it was just go, go, go. I'm liking the taking it easy kind of life.

Okay, I will jump in... I am not 100 percent done with my plans but they are tentative, I even just made changes today.

It will be my DH and myself this time! We are frequent visitors and I just took my daughters 6 and 9 this past October. Thinking about doing a TR and a DR

March 26th- Our flight leaves for Phoenix, Az at 11:45 am and gets in at 12:25 pm. My mom lives here and I am going to spend the day with her and drop the kids off. Yay for an Adults only trip!!! My brothers, SILs, and their kiddos will join us for dinner at our favorite Mexican food place. Arizona has cheese crisps at Mexican restaurants and Utah does not so anytime we go to Phx it's a must! DH and I have a hotel near the Sky Harbor airport.... and good thing because...

March 27th- We leave at 6:05 AM... which means we need to be at the airport at 4 AM!!! :scared:
We have a direct flight and get into MCO at 1 pm. Once we get there we will check into SSR, we have never stayed here before and are super excited. Especially with the availability to walk to DS. We will try to check in if we can we will drop our luggage in our room, if not we will leave it with bell services.
We will then head to Animal Kingdom, it's our least favorite park and has about 2-3 things we even want to do, so it's okay if we don't get there until late. I need to get my DAS pass. We will try to get on Na'avi, Dinosaur (as many times as we can!), Everest (just me), and maybe the Safari. There are a few snacks I want to try here, like the Raya ones. We then have a dinner reservation at the Boathouse at 7:45 pm and will walk back to SSR for a swim and a drink.

March 28th- MK Day- I have very strong feelings hours will change to an 8 am open. So we will be at the bus stop at 6:30, hoping to get the very first MK bus of the day. Once we get there we will go get a DAS time to return for SDMT and then head towards the left to Haunted Mansion, BTMR, skip Splash, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Tiki House, Aladdin. Hopefully, by then it's time for our 11:55 at Tony's. After Tonys, we will head back to SSR for a swim and to rest my feet.
We will head back around 4 pm for our 5:35 dinner at LTT and to ride whatever has short wait times. I need to find a small snack for breakfast... maybe a cinnamon roll or Sleepy Hollow waffle?

March 29th- Epcot Day- We will take an Uber for our 8:25 AM Whispering Canyon Breakfast. Then catch a bus over to Epcot. Grab a DAS for Test Track, then head towards Soarin, Figment, Nemo, etc. We will start working our way around the F&G booths and popping into the countries to do whatever activities are available. This is one of our just recently changed days so I am hoping to get an Epcot restaurant for dinner. We also want to make sure to ride Frozen. I am trying to decide the best way to use my DAS pass and regular lines. I really wish DAS could be used in the app.
We will prob head back to our resort around 8 pm or maybe over to DS.

March 30th- HS- I am going to use that force and say- WE WILL GET THOSE BOARDING PASSES!!!- I really hope so anyway. My DH is really big into gaming and constantly having to make quick motions so hopefully, those years of "training" will help lol. Either way, we will get an MMRR DAS pass and head toward Toy Story land. We have an 11:50 SciFi Lunch. Keep riding rides throughout the morning. DH has a lightsaber build at 1:40 and then after we will prob head back to SSR until 5 pm (unless ROTR doesn't allow for that). We have dinner at 6:45 at HS and the rest of the time will be filled by rides. Anyone have HS snack suggestions?

March 31st- Epcot Day- Topolinos breakfast at 8 am. Then taking the skyliner over to Epcot. Same plan as the previous Epcot day, doing more rides, trying more foods, anything we didn't do the first day. 12:45 lunch at Rose and Crown. 6:55 dinner at Biergarten. Will stay until 11 pm this night.

April 1st- MK Day- Chef Mickeys Breakfast 7:45, I know we will miss rope drop... but it's Chef Mickeys so to us totally worth it. We will start in Tomorrowland this time with Buzz, the cars, heading into Fantasyland. Coming back down Main Street for an 11:30 lunch at Crystal Palace. We will head out to SSR and maybe DS, shop, pool, nap etc. We will make our way back around 5 pm and ride more until 6:40 when we have BOG dinner and stay until close.

April 2nd- HS Day- Try again for another ROTR pass. Get something to eat at Woody's. Ride what we can. Our flight leaves at 6:15 and arrives back in Phoenix at 8:10 pm. We have a hotel by the airport again.

Apri 3rd- Spend another morning with my mom, pick up the kids and head out in the afternoon. Finally getting back home to SLC.

Need to do: Make a snack list for each park, order our groceries like water and Gatorade

Question: What do you guys do for sore feet and legs! I still have not figured out the best thing and I have been so many times.

Good luck with your 4 park challenge! I did it back in October 2019 and it was so fun!

At epcot right now....
Morning in Future World was amazing. Open time was 11am, we were in park and on Soarin by 10:30
Almost everything was walk-on!

Today is first day of F&G and World Showplace is a MESS. We will probably be leaving to go swim instead.
It is just so crowded & hot and it's all bloggers videoing their snacks and stuff not paying attention to where they are walking 🤣
Already had to scold the drunk girls behind me in a line to please give 6ft space as they kept bumping my back.

I've never experienced so many sloppily wasted people at epcot as I have this trip on our 2 days here. Just doesn't feel like Disney with that going on! (Or I'm just a grumpy old fart hahaha)

Everything else besides WS has been amazing this trip though. Animal Kingdom tomorrow!!!
We were at Epcot tonight, too, for dinner at the food booths. Some of the lines were really long. The World Showplace was a nice place to get away from the crowds. My favorite watermelon salad was there and it was very good. My husband got the beignet from France and it was surprisingly good.

Ok... need to go back and read everyone's plans but wanted to take a minute to get ours down...

Trip is me, DH, DD (16), DS (12). Staying in the towers at CSR.

We're actually leaving here in VA on Saturday the 12th but going first to Hilton Head Island to stay at a resort (not Disney, boo) for 3 nights with a friend and her family. My parents moved to that area this past fall so we will enjoy the resort and visit with them a little.

Tues (16th) - leave HHI, head to AK when we arrive. I'm hoping to be there around 1:00. We have a reservation at Yak & Yeti at 2:45. My hope is to get in to the park and just enjoy the atmosphere a little until lunch. If we luck out and get a short line for a ride, great. Maybe we will catch the bird show, something like that. We're hoping that crowds will start to clear after we eat and we can hit the big rides.

Wed (17th) - MK. We had made reservations at The Wave for breakfast planning for a 9am opening but with an 8:00 opening, we're probably going to scrap those and make sure we're on a bus first thing instead. Hoping to hit 7DMT, BTMR, Splash, PoTC, Jungle Cruise, and Haunted Mansion in the morning. If we can catch other things with short waits, great. We also have a lunch reservation at The Wave because we were assuming our car would be parked there but I'll probably cancel that, too. I'm thinking we will head back to the resort and do a grab and go lunch and hit the pool for a couple of hours and then go back to MK closer to dinner. Hopefully mobile order dinner and spend the night doing what we can.

Thur (18th) - HS... We're huge Star Wars fans so hopefully we will get a boarding pass for Rise. Again, I had a breakfast reservation at Tratorria al Forno but with the earlier opening, it won't work so the plan now is just to drive to the Swan and pay the daily parking rate. Planning to be there around 7:30 so we can walk to HS and hopefully be towards the front. MMRR, SDD, TSMM, Smugglers Run will be the morning priorities. Everyone will want to explore GE for sure. We have a Savi's reservation for lightsaber build at 12:40. We have a 50s Prime Time reservation for 1:30 but I think we're going to drop that and head back to the resort again. Because we will have the car, we can grab food someplace or do a mobile order on the way out. We then have droid building at 5:00 so we just need to be back in the park for that. Then hopefully we can hit rides we missed in the morning. DH and DD would love to do ToT and/or RnRC but my son and I will probably sit those out. We do also have an Oga's reservation but it's for 9:05 am and I don't necessarily want to miss prime riding time for that. I actually haven't even told anyone in the family that I got it yet in case I can't move it.

Fri (19th) - Epcot... It will be nice to end the trip with some more relaxed mornings so that's what we will do. Still planning rope drop but it's nice that rope drop will be 10:00 instead of 7:00! Soarin' and Test Track for sure when we arrive. Frozen if we can get on with a short-ish wait. Walk World Showcase, check out festival booths, etc. I do have a sit down reservation around 4:00 at San Angel because I figure it might be fairly crowded by then so getting a sit down break might give us the boost we need for the rest of the evening. We will just leave when everyone is ready.

Sat (20th) - HS/Departure. Another chance for Rise but we aren't planning on rope dropping. We will just head to the park when we're ready, probably around 9:00. It will be more of a wander around, check out shops, etc kind of morning. If we can get on a ride, great. We have lunch reservations at 2:00 at Beaches and Cream. After that we will head north. We're stopping back at my parents house in South Carolina for a couple of extra days before we head home Monday the 22nd.

This is fun! I’m enjoying reading everyone’s plans! I also hope you all come back and tell us how your trip went.
We are a group of 4 friends....all married, middle-aged moms. Two of us just completed our doctoral degrees in January, so our other two friends decided they wanted to celebrate with us. We often go on a small cruise together for a nursing conference each year, but obviously that was derailed in 2020. So this year we decided to celebrate our accomplishment by doing Disney! We’ve all been before with our husbands and kids, but I’m definitely the fanatic of the group. None of them have been in at least 10 years. My family last went in June 2019.

Since we’re ditching the families, we are keeping this a pretty short trip. We leave on 3/25 and arrive to MCO about 2:50pm. We are staying in a preferred room at CBR. We stayed here on our last family trip, and the transportation was less than stellar at times, but this was before the Skyliner was operational. I’m cautiously optmistic that with better planning transportation will be smoother this time around. We will go to DS for the evening and have reservations at The Boathouse at 7:15. We also have military tickets so we will get them validated and pick up the discounted memory maker at guest relations while there.

Friday, 3/26: MK. Planning to get on early bus, but also willing to Uber if one is close. Ride whatever we want, and then have lunch ADR at LTT that we may or may not keep. I’ve found the table service dining in MK to be.....underwhelming. Lol We may take a break and then come back later in the afternoon but this will depend on how the park hours wind up changing. I am trying to embrace the more laid-back approach to this trip.

Saturday, 3/27: AK. Early bus again. I love the Pandora ride, and my friends haven’t ridden it before, so it’s first priority. We have lunch at Yak n Yeti at 11:30. Hoping we can power through the rides and It’s Tough to be a Bug (I weirdly love this show) in time to leave early, rest a bit and then maybe hop to Epcot.

Sunday, 3/28: HS. GET THE RotR boarding group!!!!!! None of us have been to Galaxies Edge, and I’m super excited. My whole family are Star Wars fans and they are green with envy that I might get to ride it without them. The rest of my group hasn’t seen Toy Story land either, so I want to show them this at night. It’s just the cutest area. ToT is also a priority. We have too many reservations for this day, so we may or may not keep them all. Lunch at 50s. Afternoon res at Ogas. Dinner at Sci Fi. We may actually keep them all if we can hold up through the long day, because these restaurants have sentimental value to many of us from taking our families. And Oga’s doesn’t take long. But we’ll see.

Monday, 3/29: Epcot. Soak up F&G. I am so excited to get to leisurely stroll through the World Showcase, but my teens are bored stiff there. What can I say......I have raised uncultured swine. Lol. I’m looking forward to being able to actually explore a little more without listening to constant complaining. We have a 9:00 breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey that we may well drop in order to sleep a little later this day. We’ll decide the night before based on how tired we all are. We also have a 1:30 at Via Napoli. I think we will eat around the festival for supper.

Tuesday, 3:30: Breakfast at Topolino’s @ 8:45. This we will keep. I want some pictures of us with characters in the background, and I hear the food is delicious. And it’s very convenient to get there. Flights out at 2:00. Sadness.

I’m curious to see how the trip plays out with the crowds, and to see how we hold up to all the early, long days. I’m used to longer trips, where we can go at a more leisurely pace and still do pretty much every single thing we want to do. If it’s too much, we are all prepared to lounge around the pool some and soak up the ADULT TIME! : )

Have a magical trip, everyone.

We have hit single digits for our trip! This is not a drill!

My travel crew includes my 3 ladies... my wife and daughters 11 & 16. This trip was planned in January after returning from a short Christmas trip. This year we had canceled WDW and Disneyland trips and became DVC members just before the pandemic. So while the Disney math doesn’t shake out completely, we have had lots of DVC points and airline credits to use.

**I’ll preface this information with a disclaimer that this entire thing will likely change because of how I tinker with everything and can’t leave it alone. This trip started as a 2-night 1-park trip and last night I changed flights and added another night. We are now up to a 5-night 4-park trip!

Saturday 3/13: Fly in early in the AM and drop bags off at AKL Jambo. Originally we were to head off to AK, but since adding a day, we can spend time at Disney Springs and relax at the pool and explore the resort at night. The wife and I will break away for dinner for 2 at Sanaa.

Sunday 3/14: Really the only day that hasn’t changed. We go to HS and have reservations for Oga’s and Sci-Fi. Things we want to do that we always skip for the headliners are Walt Disney Presents (haven’t been since 2014) and Frozen Sing-a-long.

Monday 3/15: This day was EPCOT, but now is AK. We will rope drop Nomad Lounge and eat an unhealthy amount of Mr. Kamal’s fries. We also go home to a new resort, BLT!

Tuesday 3/16: Wake up and walk to MK! That will be a first. We also hope to take a midday swim break since we can just walk over!

Wednesday 3/17: This is our new day and is now EPCOT. The only issue now is a Chef Mickey reservation at 9am which will cause us to miss rope drop. I wish I could have one on 3/18 instead.

Thursday 3/18: Let the kids sleep in while I explore the resort. As I mentioned I wish we had a Chef Mickey this day, but maybe I’ll try to waitlist it. We will just relax before our 4pm flight home.

I’ve enjoyed planning with you all and I hope everyone has great trips!

Question: What do you guys do for sore feet and legs! I still have not figured out the best thing and I have been so many times.

I use Epsom salt gel at night (put it in the fridge!) and spend as much time floating in the pool as I can.

That's awesome! Never knew they had a gel! Thanks for the mention, will try it this trip. Usually I sit in a Epsom salt bath... but I don't care for baths so prob don't sit as long as I need for the Epsom to do anything.

Sounds like a great trip. I'm right there with you on crying until my next trip. I have no clue when I'll get back there. I'm trying to figure out how I can work in a short trip later in the year since I have airline credit to use but I don't know if I can or not.

I am actually going back in August for a girls bachelorette weekend so I'm trying to remember that this trip isn't about me because I will have plenty of time to do everything I want next trip. And I've done several trips over the last couple of years without the family so this is very much about them.

My daughter and I fly out at 6:05 as well so we have to be there at 4am too. It's a good things we are people who can function on very little sleep.
I'm glad you were able to snag a light saber appointment for your hubby.
Several years ago I broke my left foot and now I have Arthritis in it. It swells often if I'm on it a lot through the day. So any chance I get during the day at the park I prop it up some to help with that. I also have to keep pain meds with me in case it does start hurting and throbbing so I guess that helps keep the feet and legs from hurting later on since I'm keeping meds in me. Fashion also goes out the window and I wear comfy shoes even if they are ugly HaHa. In fact I have been wearing my skecher sandals around the house to get my feet used to them again because I don't want to wear my tennis shoes on days they may get wet.
