***Official March 2021 Thread***

Anyone have any guesses for what weather will be like in mid-late March? I am from WI so anything above 70 will feel pretty warm to me.

You should be in luck then, although it can be hot already, I usually go first week of March, last year we had a 90 degree day with humidity, but other than that high 70's to low 80's in daytime and not too humid. A cool front can come in too though, been when it has dropped to 40's at night so needed hoodies and jeans too. I would pack both shorts and jeans.

We were there in the latter part of March 2019 and it was cooler than the predicted forecast. I wish we would have packed more pants as we only had a couple and ended up having to wear them more since it turned colder on us. I was comfortable with a tank/t-shirt/crops and a light sweatshirt I could shed.

One question for the group. On a day where I have an AK park reservation, the system still let me make a late reservation at Oga's at HS. I know I am able to park-hop over there if HS has availability after 2:00pm, but what happens if I can't park hop? Do we know if it automatically cancels if I'm never able to scan in at HS, or do I need to manually cancel it?

The new park hopping rule is very recent, so it is hard to know what will happen later. The only suggestion that I have if HS is full when you show up for your Oga's reservation is simply to tell the CM about your situation. I would think that someone who returned for their Rise of Resistance boarding group would be in a similar situation. So CMs would have to let them back in the park. :)

My guest is that you will have wonderful weather. :) Average high for the day in mid-March is around 80 degrees.

Probably in the 70s, with some unpredictability in either direction (a random 68 degree day, a random 80 degree day). Probably mid-high 60s at night. It should be pleasant!

When I search on Accuweather for Lake Buena Vista Florida for our trip, it has upper 70's for the highs and low to mid 50's for the lows.

I am cold natured so I plan to have capri leggings as well as a few long ones. I figure I'll be safe that way. My daughter will most likely pack only long legging because that's what she prefers but if she gets hot she can make them into capri ones by folding them under. I'll also tell her to pack a sweatshirt/jacket just in case.
I think I like November best just because we could wear capris/shorts and just have a sweatshirt or jacket to put on when we went into restaurants.

So I'm just curious, do y'all bring backpack, fannypacks or any other bags into the parks? Last (2019) I just had a minnie lanyard that holds my cards/ID and a small amount of cash. I was able to skip bag check with that. I was planning to use that again, but I read others say there are no bagless lines right now because of the way they are having to do all the other checks coming onto the parks right now.

I usually bring a small fanny pack and so does my daughter. Hers has snacks in it to keep her moving and mine has disposable ponchos, my phone, and a back up battery. From what I understand you don’t need to take anything out of your bags right now, so there’s no real reason to not bring one.

We do a light backpack with a few bottled waters, snacks, sunscreen, hand sanitizer/wipes, phone charger/battery packs, etc. I probably won't pack as much as far as hand sanitizer this time becuase my friend who just got back said there is plenty in the park.

That's what I've read. It was suggested to make sure I have some for the plane, but inside Disney Parks they have plenty. I figured with the shortened hours I would bring something small to carry my external phone charger and a couple snacks. With there being 6 of us we can take turns carrying it if we need to. My daughter plans to bring her fanny pack and then will decide on a day to day basis if she wants to bring it to the parks that day.

My wife has a Wookie backpack and it works out great for the small amount of items we take. I say take a kid, buy them a backpack so they are excited then stuff your things inside and let them carry it (lol).

I wear a minnie fanny pack. If I carry anything bigger I end up being the pack mule for all my kids crap, and while they always say they will help carry the backpack or whatever, that only lasts about 20 mins

They don't do a bag check any more everyone goes through detectors, only is something is scanned then you have to do to a bag check table before proceeding, so no worries about bring in bags etc, won't slow you done. I had a medal sun glass case in my bag, that made me go to a bag check table, just fyi stuff like that gets you pulled over for more security.

I make my husband do it...hahahahaha

I received the first dose of the Moderna Covid 19 on 1.12-Next dose 2.11 - I am sure that the markers and masks will still be in effect-but my husband and I are fine with them-we were in WDW September, October, November and December (had to use up some DVC points). But, we are bringing my MIL who is 72 and my 4yo grandson. Both of whom do not like wearing a mask. I told my daughter that she needs to have grandson wear the mask at home as much as possible for "practice". Now, my MIL has been informed and she knows the rules. I think she will be fine with it?!?! If not, I guess she will be happy in the room :)

Oh, and this is her first time flying - EVER ! At least we booked a direct flight from MSY on SW.
