** Official ** March 2011!!!

We've had our flights booked since March and our resort booking is now completed - yippee! Next will be our park passes and dining plan to be done in September. We're going through a TA who specializes in WDW and she is right on top of everything. :thumbsup2

Since we covered the parks pretty thoroughly during our last trip, we're planning to try DisneyQuest and the waterparks this time around. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Is anyone else's computer display (desktop, screensaver...) plastered with Disney photos? I've had fun finding Beach Club photos and changing them regularly... not that I need anything to increase my excitement! Or maybe I'm just really lame. ;)

Normally mine is too...pix of me and my DD at Epcot or the family in front of the castle. Right now it is a picture of our world champion New Orleans Saints and I am just having a hard time changing that right now, LOL!

I am SO excited that the february hours are out!!!

Not long until I can really start to plan!! Eeee!

I know!! I'm just itchin' to start planning something! WHOO HOOO!!

And yes, my desktop background and screensaver are always a rotation of Disney pics - I just love looking at them. :lovestruc

Just found this thread, so I hope I can join you. We will be there March 17-22. It will be my husband, daughter and myself along for the first time husbands parents. We are also taking a 4 day Bahama cruise with Carnival before hand. My husbands parents have never understood our passion for Disney. So after a few years of asking them to join us, they have decided to take the plunge. I am very excited so hopefully it will be a successful trip. Have not been able to book anything yet besides the cruise. Planning on booking air as soon as Southwest rates go up. We are DVC members so are trying to decide between AKV Kidani and BLT. Does anyone have any input on those 2 resorts? Will be able to book it in Oct. Also can't wait to book our dining. I'm such a big planner that the more I plan the more excited I get about our trip.:cool1::cool1:

I too will be joining ya'll in March 2011! We will be there March 12-19. I am super excited. We will either get a room at PoR or 2 rooms at one of the All Star resorts/POP. Hoping to find some cheap airfare from the DFW area or we may be spending some time in the car!

Edited up to here...

Welcome everyone! :)

So, when do we think any packages/special deals/etc will be announced for this timeframe? Shouldn't be too long, I don't think - I looked up our paperwork from last trip and we booked in mid-November for travel the first 2weeks of May with the buy 4 get 3 free deal. What about being able to look at prices and/or book online? I'm going nuts and want to be able to start DOING something more productive than daydreaming. ;) My inner Disney nerd is just dying to start some spreadsheets and planning out each day! :lmao:

We are going the second week - just now starting to plan - thanks for the thread!

just finished reading the whole thread.

When is Mardi Gras? Guess I thought it was in February all the time. I really don't want to be there with Mardi Gras-ers....crowds might be too big.

We will go on the 13th most likely and return on the 19th.

Just looked it up and Mardi Gras is Tuesday March 8 next year. I honestly never even thought about it being busy because of Mardi Gras - I've been more wrapped up in the whole Spring Break schedule with such a late Easter next year!

I don't think people that are celebrating mardi gras see WDW as the place to go. Honestly, that place is in Louisiana last time I checked.

We have been there the past two Mardi Gras and there is not any larger or "different" crowd than normal, I promise. If you want to see that type of crowd at WDW try the Food and Wine festival on the weekends. You will get semi-mardi gras antics then for sure.

The only crowd issues you have to worry about are the cheerleaders and kids Spring Break. But even then, the crowds are nowhere near the Christmas time and Summer crowds.

Me me me!!!! We'll be there March 24-29. We've scheduled it around a caricature gig that DH has March 24-26 at the Orlando Convention Center so we have no real flexibility on dates. I'm hoping that it's late for some spring breaks (ours is mid March) and early for others since Easter is so late.

I can't WAIT. It's been 10 years since we've been. I have two boys (11 and 13) who don't mind going but aren't really excited about it either. The cheerleaders might actually be a selling point for them. :)

I'm excited about doing it with older kids and can't wait to book the package! Hoping to stay at CSR. I've never been there but hear my boys will enjoy it.

Anyone order the planning DVD lately? Just wondered if it was still the 2010 one or if the 2011 was out yet?

We are going over Mardi Gras holidays as well. We will be there the 7th-12th. Fingers crossed DH gets those vacation days, at least. I hate vacation by seniority! We have a studio at OKW booked. Not telling DD's until we know for sure though!

I ordered the planning DVD a few days ago. It should be comming in 3 weeks or so. I too am curious as to which DVD I will end up with. I have this gut feeling that it's going to be the 2010 version.

BTW It's not set in stone yet but my sister and I will most likely be down there from the 16th-25th. We are hoping to stay at Pop but are willing to settle for an All Star if need be.

Looks like we will be joining the crowd for Mardi Gras!!! Just started talking about it with DH today, and it seems as though he wants to go when it's a bit cooler than it was this past July!!

I just hope it's not too cold for me ;)
