*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Ahhhhh! Cookies! :scared1:

Headed out in less than an hour to try to get in 3 hours of cookie selling before dance competition dress rehearsals! I think all this month it will be rush rush rush! I have to sit down with money and cookie totals tonight and see what needs to be ordered...but I have to watch what day I put down for when I can go get them, because 1/2 the money has to be turned in by the 12th, and if I'm worried we won't have the $ there, then I have to go Thursday, which is when we're having this week's Girl Scout meeting... Dance competition will put us in Atlanta Friday - Sunday next weekend. I'm hoping for that Monday off (no telling when we will get in Sunday, plus I will need to go around and collect $ for cookies. Yikes!) Then it will be selling cookies the rest of the weekends this month and on into March. Wow!

All that said, I know we've had at least two people join up -- I'll do an "official welcome" and add your info to page 1/post 1, as well as it dawned on me that I haven't added the new Facebook group that Alan Renfroe created to that post...someone remind me! While we're at it, if there's anything else anyone can think of that needs to be added to page 1, let me know!

I'm off to get ready for a BUSY day!

Awesome news! We're all booked at GF for 5 nights from 5/30 to 6/4. Thinking about doing EP on Sat., MK on Sun., pool/rest day/Blizzard Beach/DTD on Mon., DHS on Tues., and DAK on Wed., so should be fun!

Let me know what you think of my ADRs: Friday - Narcoossee's, Saturday - Tutto Italia (any other good restaurants at Epcot we should consider?), Sunday - Breakfast at CRT and dinner at BOG, Monday - Brunch at 1900 Park Fare and dinner at Wolfgang Puck, Tuesday - Hollywood & Vine w/ F!DP, and Wednesday - breakfast at Tusker House.

Now, I just wait until March 31 when we can make FP+ selections!

Really, did you just ask if there were any other good restaurants at Epcot!? This is the park that was totally designed for eating and drinking! We love Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Teppan Edo, and have heard great things about Via Napoli, Nine Dragons, and the tequila bar in Mexico. We will be trying Via Napoli (which I think my DDs picked because it's supposed to boast really cute waiters) and Monsieur Paul this trip. Can't wait!:-)

I need either a better job or to win powerball. I'd love to stay at a delux.

When I first started looking at WDW 5 years ago (we are DLR vets) I had my heart set on the Poly. I watched as the price kept increasing year after year. Then I thought well, the Contemporary would still be nice and was less expensive. And that went up and up too. When I got to the point where it was time to book we were priced out of both since we wanted to stay for two weeks.

POFQ was recommended to me and it looks really nice. I also liked that the bus situation seemed a little better than some of the others and it has the boat to DTD. So, that's where we'll be. :goodvibes

I'm another DL vet (well, WDW vet turned DL vet, but that's a long story) and I stayed in Port Orleans French Quarter as well. I really liked it. Nice, comfortable rooms. Better than average food court. Small and intimate. Pretty scenery. Fun pool. And if you're planning to go to DTD, the boat ride there and back is really nice. As for my family, we're just not big enough fans of DTD to bother. Still, I think you're going to enjoy your stay.

Did you remember the capital S for the front of your shirt?!

Who, me? I'd have to sew, and while I can do a basic stitch, but it might not be pretty.... Although, where I was going to have troop Girl Scout shirts made that said "Lead like a girl," I am seriously thinking of a GS in the diamond border with a "I'm a Girl Scout. What's your super power?" theme.

Only sold 33 boxes of cookies today. Could have done more IF we could have stayed longer. But rehearsal went very well.

I'd post a picture, but my internet is having issues...

I have no idea what the WDW DTD is like, but I'm thinking it will be under construction when we go, unfortunately. If we have time, we are planning to go there the first night when we arrive.

My husband and I are pretty picky eaters, so we don't do the world food - although, there are some I would try that he just wouldn't. I miss the original italian restaurant, so we don't go to the Italy one anymore. However, we went to the Garden Grill last time... and that is now one of our faves!!! I can't wait to get back there.

PS We really enjoyed Park Faire and the Stepsisters :-D

Isn't that a great buffet? It is a bit tight in there, but I love it. It seems more high class because it is at the GF and I love getting to see Cinderella! :) We usually eat late and then watch the Fireworks from the shore there.

:welcome: wintershawl & Tinkerbellsmomma!

Add me in! BLT June 14-19! Can't wait. Will be our first summer trip and first time renting points.

Hi, All,

So I joined this group late and then I had to go MIA!

Long story short, my dad was in a very horrific car accident and that took my attention. It also put a question mark over our trip. I then got run down and very sick myself. However, my dad is nothing short of a miracle and is doing pretty well.

Sooooo... we have officially booked for POFQ for June 25 - July 4.

Now I'm behind on ADRs and such, but we eat at off times. Plus, with two of us it isn't quite as hard.

Let the planning begin! :cool1:

We're (currently) booked for POFQ, and will be there while you're there...in fact, the 25th is a planned "down day"...perhaps it might be a good night for a DIS Meet...hmmm....

The Rose & Crown is awesome. Loved the fish n' chips and the bubble and squeak. I've heard a lot of picky eaters manage okay at the Biergarden, but you can't be afraid of sitting with a table of strangers. Not knocking the Garden Grill either...loved it! Of course, you can always walk out at the International Gateway or take a Friendship Boat over to the Boardwalk if there's something over there you're interested in...

Okay Junebugs, I have a dilemma, and I need some opinions. There is a slight possibility that I might have to push our trip back one week, from June 1-9, to June 8-17. I won't know for a few more weeks, and so here's what I was thinking. Could I add those days onto our reservation, and then go back and eliminate whichever days I need to cancel? We have a complicated ressie, we have two rooms booked, one ASMU suite and one preferred room for my parents, and I'm worried if I wait too long we won't be able to get the dates we want. Especially with the room discount that's out.

Is this possible? I know I tend to over worry, but why take a chance if it will cost me nothing.

Thanks for your input,

Debbie

So yesterday I booked our stay at BLT for the first part of our trip.:yay:

So, now we can get to WDW (got flights from ABQ to MCO), and we have some place to stay for 12 nights (BLT/AKV). Just waiting now for SW to open the next round of flights sometime in December so that we can return home after what I'm sure will be a wonderful vacation.:goodvibes

My countdown is says it's still 210 days until we leave, but since it started out at almost 300 I'm happy. :goodvibes

First DVC stay? So exciting!! :cool1: We're at BLT as well and stayed there June '11 - It is FABULOUS!! I love any and all Disney properties but there's just a little something extra I love about BLT:)
Happy Planning!!

How exciting! I have also done a little add on with BLT to our trip. We've never stayed at a DVC resort before so we're pretty excited about it. Did you make room requests? I booked a lake view. I have no idea what I'm doing and thought I may just leave it to chance and see what we get since I don't think it can be bad, whereever they put us. I found the BLT thread on the DVC board but it is so long it was daunting for my little head :lmao:

Name: The Buckmaster's
Travel Dates (if known): June 8th - 15th
Where Will You Be Staying?: BC
Travel Party: 4 - Me :yay: , DH :) , DD :wizard: 12 and DD princess: 5
Current Location: Valparaiso, IN
Favorite Disney Character: Minnie
Favorite Disney Movie: Nemo
How Many Trips?: This makes something like 11 total for me (6+ back in the day with my parents. I was going to say as a kid but I really don't think that I've grown up.)
2012 - WL - Littlest DD 1st trip
2012 - POFQ - Trip which the Grandparents joined in on the fun.
2007 - POFQ - Oldest DD 1st trip
1995 - off site - College Spring break with my now DH

On-Site or Off?: On-Site!!! I just love the all inclusive experience feel of it.
Best Disney Story: Can't pick 1. Each trip adds a new one!
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? Not having to ride swap as much since the DD will be 40inchs and getting myself to slow our pace down. I love to push the family out the door for a RD and stay all day with no break till the park closes. I am hoping to slow my pace down with the summer crowds.

We are paying for dinning for the 1st time (We have always gone in Sept.) but I'm still not sure that it's worth it. I LOVE the fact I don't have to worry about it but hate the thought that the trip could be a little cheeper if we just payed out of pocket. What to do, what to do???

ADR: 6/8 Rose & Crown, 6/9 Chef de France, 6/10 Coral Reef, 6/11 Sci Fi Drive In, 6/12 Chef Micky, 6/13 Via Napoli, 6/14 Crystal Palace Breakfast b4 RD & Dessert Fireworks.

Ok, who's been in the summer and how crazy are the crowds? I feel like I have a good handle on our past trips but I feel like I need to plan more for this one. Advise????

May not be a bad idea. I don't have anything formally planned for that night. It would depend on the DH.

We used to drive down to Philly and stay in a hotel and then get up early and fly down. Well, the hotels have started to charge to park, and we had a horrible hotel experience last time. So, now I just said.... nope, we just get a later flight and stay at DIsney the whole time. hehe. :)

Just booked a 3 night 4 day vacation at AOA, for my DS 9th birthday. Staying in the cars section. We having dning reservations at Chef Mickeys for his Birthday celebration. Its a surprise for our kids DS9, DD5, DD2 and DD1. I had to do some serious bribing with my DH since we were just there in October for our DD 5 birthday. I am so excited. I think not telling them is going to be the hardest thing. I want to scream to the world we are going to Disney. Suoer excited t be staying in AOA.
