Congrats on finalizing your hotel ressies! :cheer2: That always makes it so real. We are staying offsite this time. We have stayed offsite before, but our recent stays have been onsite - even renting DVC a couple years ago. Where are you staying offsite? We are at Windsor Hills.

Happy Planning :goodvibes

We're staying offsite too. We are Bluegreen owners so we're staying at The Fountains like we did on our last (only) WDW trip a couple of years ago.

Hi! Just found this.

Travel Dates (if known): 6/3-6/10
Where Will You Be Staying?: Caribbean Beach
Travel Party: Me, DH, DD15, DD12
Current Location: Iowa
How Many Trips?: This is #6
On-Site or Off?: On

Hoping our flight on 6/3 will be okay- I allowed for 5 snow days and we've now used 3. The kids aren't super concerned about missing the last day or two of school though. I booked on SW so could maybe change, but the fares aren't as good (we're currently flying on Tuesdays). Hoping they don't cancel school for state basketball!

We have a BOG reservation for 7:35 pm on 6/4. Every once in a while I check to see if I can get it any earlier (first we had it for 8:15- I was glad to move it up from there). We tend to do rope drop and get back to the resort early evening. The only other reservation we will probably make is RFC at Animal Kingdom. It's tradition. Otherwise we are more than good with CS. We haven't done the dining plan since younger DD turned 10 because she will still want the kids meals so she is not worth buying a plan for!

Last time was a June trip too and we did go back for swims in the early afternoon (we don't in cooler weather), so I'm not sure what times I'll want for FP+.

We are paying for dinning for the 1st time (We have always gone in Sept.) but I'm still not sure that it's worth it. I LOVE the fact I don't have to worry about it but hate the thought that the trip could be a little cheeper if we just payed out of pocket. What to do, what to do???

ADR: 6/8 Rose & Crown, 6/9 Chef de France, 6/10 Coral Reef, 6/11 Sci Fi Drive In, 6/12 Chef Micky, 6/13 Via Napoli, 6/14 Crystal Palace Breakfast b4 RD & Dessert Fireworks.

Ok, who's been in the summer and how crazy are the crowds? I feel like I have a good handle on our past trips but I feel like I need to plan more for this one. Advise????

We too liked the convenience of the dining plan, but once younger DD turned 10, it wasn't worth paying adult price for her to order kids meals. What I started to do was buy Disney gift cards (say several $100 ones in case we lost one we didn't lose the whole shebang). Then we still had the convenience of just handing over a card, but didn't have to have a set number of TS and set number of CS (we prefer to have only 1 or 2 TS in a week). This time I will either do that or use cc.

We went June 8-14 in 2011. It was definitely not as slow as our November trips, but we didn't think it was awful. We are rope drop people and in that June trip we would come early, leave mid-day, and go back. The discounts run through the 15th or so, so that tells me the first half is probably not as busy as the second half of June at least! I don't remember all that much about the lines, though I do remember we had 2 special FP good for any ride and we went to ride BTMRR during Wishes. I used one of those FP and the line was short enough we wouldn't have needed to.

I felt like deciding where to stay offsite was harder than deciding what Disney resort (and that's hard enough! lol) This trip will just be myself and my 2 dd's so we didn't need a suite or much space. Someone from the Disney addicts facebook page recommended Champions World Resort. It was dirt cheap, and has good reviews! So we are going to check it out!! It will be interesting to see how FP+ changes for offsite guests between now and then!

I know buffets will be hard to do with 1 adult and 2 children, we will be staying away from those. Anyone have a review or opinion of Ohana' for breakfast?

Have you used one of the calculators to see if it would really be cheaper for you to pay OOP?

This is a good one: http://www.distripplanner.com/ Getting the dining plan- and upgrading to Deluxe, is actually cheaper for us by several hundred dollars.

You must like to eat expensive food! We think the DDP is awesome. Don't know if it saves us money but it sure saves the hassle of examining the menu like an accountant! We usually do 5 out of 7 days with a TS meal. I couldn't do more than 2 a day and couldn't do that every day! Although if we had the dough, we definitely would try deluxe DDP!

I love the Toy Story movies, too! But that scene in 3 when Andy's mom walks into his empty room always hits me like a knife in the heart!:-( Having a nice long Disney vacay is truly the best. So many of our best times have happened when we are just hanging out, rather than rushing from ride to show! Unfortunately, we can't take any vacation for longer than 7 days due to DH's job; so I try to save enough money to convert our park tickets into seasonal or annual passes. The last time I did this we were rewarded with a magical year! One of our best times was DD's 16th birthday, which was just a day trip ( courtesy of our passes), but she was born Feb.29 and the Magic Kingdom was doing the "One More Disney Day" promotion! It was amazing! We were on the monorail at 3:30 am heading into the park, we received commemorative mouse ears, and walked onto all the headliners in Fantasy Land by 8 am! We even got to ride the teacups with Alice and the White Rabbit, and saw Jasmine and Aladdin photo bombing the PP photogs on Main Street! It was just so special!

We are doing a ton of character meals- including CRT- and we didn't like any of the quick-service meals we had the first time we all went. And yeah, food is big deal for us, lol. We want appetizers and dessert and to be able to sit down and relax in a/c a few times every day. Not to mention getting into the parks before they open! Great for pictures. ;)

Hey all. I will be Home june 8-14 staying first 3 nights at kidani and the last 3 nights at bay lake :)

Hi all! I need to make a change to my original info post. Our original travel party was myself, DH, and DS (turning 5 on the trip). My youngest son who will be 23 months was going to stay home with my mother and have a week with Grandma but the guilt consumed my DH and I too much so we have decided to take him. I mean, how often will I get to take a kid to Disney for free? I'm even more excited about the trip now and can't wait to experience it as a whole family! :cool1:

I don't know you but I'm glad you made that decision. Being almost 2 he will definitely have a good time. My son had an amazing time when we went for my birthday when he was 2 (Feb 2012). He loved everything and we had a blast!

The best way to enjoy having kids with you is to not stress over everything. Get a loose plan and stick to it (mostly), but seeing through your kids eyes is amazing! Also naps. Naps help.

Thanks. We definitely plan on going back to take naps everyday. Both boys are very early risers (5:30 am everyday!) even after they've been up late so naps are a must. We are very happy with the decision and can't wait to go!
