***Official June, 2012! Hot, hot, hot!!!***

Please add me to the list! We will be at the World from June 9th to June 14th for our first Disney trip ever! It'll be me, DH, DS11 and DD3. Can't wait!!! :cheer2:

Thanks everyone for agreeing that keeping my laptop in the safe at the front desk the first day until I check in is the best idea.

I bring it because I back up my photos on it and do some initial processing at night plus it's easier to communicate back home etc. than all the calls sometimes.

And we have brought laptops to WDW several times with no problem ever; we just keep them out of sight when we are not in the room.

FYI - I hope the wi-fi speed is faster than it was in December at the Poly. It took forever to upload just a few pictures to SmugMug when I tried.

I only have WiFi on my Ipad, I didn't want a monthly plan. I have my HuluPlus and Netflix on hold right now, because I have been so busy, I haven't had time to watch. They have free WiFi in all the Disney resorts now, but I probably won't even use it once we get there.

We took my cousin's oldest child on our first trip and she had just turned 7, then I took my cousin and her sister and her 3 children when the youngest was 3 and the youngest still talks about it to this day and she will be 7 at the end of this month.

We were trying to have a baby when we first started going to WDW and I decided we would be taking them from the time they were born, guess I don't have to worry about that now.

I have a Vera Bradley backpack that I use most of the time, because I get stuck carrying everything. I think I hav decided to say no to all the crap this time, we'll see. I get tired of dragging that bag and having to deal with it on the rides. We are taking a small cooler bag, but I will use a bike chain to chain it to the ECV, so nobody walks off with it, I think I can fit what I need in there. I may not even carry my camera, since DH has his and my in-laws have one. Besides, in January, I dropped my camera and bent the metal part of the lens and the lens itself doesn't want to come out.

Well this is the first time that I am taking a camera this bulky. Normally I have the small point and shoot that I can slip into my pocket. At a Black Friday sale at a Wal Mart I bought a FujiFlm S3280. It's not a Cannon or a Nikon, but it seems to work good so far. I bought it specifically to bring on a WDW trip. My mom is going to make me a bag for it that is small enough to fold up and keep in my purse, but when I need to store it on rides and when eating, will hang on me like a crossoverbag. I will be wearing around my neck most of them time, but just don't want it not in a bag when we are riding a ride that I can't have it on. Plus I don't want to take a chance on spilling food on it.

and the random stockpiling of items for the trip continues! Last night I was grocery shopping and found the Brita water bottles on clearance for less than $5 each...so I grabbed 4!

I need to start buying breakfast stuff here and there since we plan on eating in the room most days...

Ohh my goodness my ticker says 49! YAY!

I need to do that too. I had started buying a few little things here and there, but haven't in the last couple of weeks.

We are only planning on having breakfast once during our stay and it is on the last day. I'm thinking that I'll get breakfast bars, that way we can eat them as we walk to the bus stop.

I found these super cute water bottles on the Disney on line store that have a cross body strap. There are four different colors, so each person in my family can have a different color. I think they were $14.75 each.

Anyone else have the feeling their trip is sneaking up on them a bit. I never thought I would feel this way since we started planning last summer and booked in September, but here I am. Of course it being Disney kind really adds to the lists.

I have my four lists I make for every trip.

Things to do
Things to buy
Things to pack
Things we can’t leave behind.

I’m excited, but it seems like the more I get done on the list of things to do and the more I buy on the list of things to buy, the more there is to do. I finished my jiffy t-shirt order (my main addiction is making vacation shirts) and I should finish the kids’ autograph books this weekend. Then down the list is still my Garden Grocer order. Got to do that in the next few days to stay on schedule budget wise.

I can’t believe it’s the middle of April.

I can't believe it's the middle of April already. Today is actually my grandmother's 89th birthday. She loves it when her birthday falls on Friday, but she was born on a Friday.

Most of my planning is on hold until I know when I am going to get my school money. I would love to fast forward until I know I have it for sure, and then put time on slow. That way I can get done everything I need to.

Your lists sound like mine. When it gets closer to where I am actually packing stuff. I also put a list on each bag that tells what is in that bag. Then on my things to pack list, I put a bag number that it is in, so I know where to check for it.

Happy Birthday to your grandmother, mine would have been 88 on April 2nd. That's funny, my birthday is on Friday this year and I was also born on a Friday. I love when my birthday is on a Friday, too!

I don't know when our trip won't be on hold, yet. DH says he should know definitely before he goes to AT, which is May 18/19. I'll be so busy getting the house ready for my in-laws to come in. Since I will be on vacation for a few days before our trip, I won't have to rush and we don't have to take much.

My MIL wants to talk to me about the trip and how much money they will need, not looking forward to that, because I have a feeling that may be the end of our trip :sad1: It's not like I could go off and leave them at home. why oh why did they have to choose my birthday to visit :confused3 They could have waited until August and DH's birthday when we don't go anywhere because it's too stikin hot.

We didn't book our trip until probably 2 months ago, so about 4 months in advance. My biggest goal was to lose 30 pounds by the trip so that I could fit back into the clothes I wore on the last trip (last June - I've gained like 30 pounds since then). Well, I haven't lost ANYTHING yet. Joined the gym about 4 weeks ago and have been going 4-5 times a week and have gained like 3 pounds instead of losing. It's very frustrating. I think I'm going to have to resign to the fact that I am going to have to buy new clothes for the trip. At this point, I'll be LUCKY if I can lose even 20 pounds. 2 months from today, we will be in Orlando. I am going to start Nutrisystem in the next week or so. So hopefully that will help!!

I have started a mini-version of "extreme couponing" and have started a very small stockpile. There are a lot of things in the closet that I will be taking to WDW. So we'll have even fewer groceries to buy when we get there. (We're driving and staying at Windsor Hills and Old Key West).

Since we have been to WDW 6 times in the last 3 years, there isn't quite as much planning to do. I feel like I should be doing more.

We aren't planning as much for this trip since everyone isn't going. This trip is just my 4 daughters, 6 of the grandkids and myself. No husband, son, son in law, daughter in law etc. It will be different as this is our first time to go without them. Next year it will be all of us plus my DIL's mom and my SIL's mom. Saving most of the big planning and expenses on that trip. Very excited about this trip though as except for 2 TS meals and the BBB it is pretty much a wing it type of trip.

I had the same exact goal! I have failed miserably :headache: I get frustrated working my bottom off at the gym and eating perfect only to see a loss of 2 oz. I tried weight watchers recently and lost 10# in 5 weeks, atleast it was something, but to me it was expensive to pay so much just to get weighed (I already spent money buying all the books etc) when I have my own scale. However after stopping I think I instantly gained the weight back. I'm going to see if I can get motivated enough to try and drop 20 before I leave June 9. I just dont know why my hunger level goes up as soon as I decide to diet!

I have my four lists I make for every trip.

Things to do
Things to buy
Things to pack
Things we can’t leave behind.

Your lists are almost exactly what mine are:

Things still to do
Things to buy
Things to pack
Things to carry on the plane/wear

I would have thought we would have had some good Karma built up with all help we have been in the last year with the inlaws both having bloots clots in their lungs, but like you we got a big goose egg from that lottery.

Yes my dd too. She tends to get her child support, until something like this comes up and then it conveniently stops coming. Oh well, paid trip off yesterday, room and meals paid for, as long as we can eat, sleep and be at Disney life is GOOD! :thumbsup2

Has anybody really had an issue with things disappearing from their room? We didnt really worry about anything last year and had no problems. This year we will take a laptop since you get free wifi now but its too big for the safe. I just figured we would stick it in a drawer...

The only time we had anything taken was a tip we had left for a cake delivery. It was my dgd's birthday and we had ordered a cake to be delivered, left tip for mousekeeping and one for delivery and mousekeeping took both tips. One said mousekeeping the other said for cake, but cake wasn't there yet and both tips were gone.
We always lock the laptop in suitcase. Purses and anything else we have questions on whether we should not leave out.

I think that is the same camera I bought for my dd. It takes really good pictures. And it's not real big and bulky. She seems to like it so far.

It's 80 degrees here today and humid so I guess Maryland is getting me ready for Florida!

Next weekend I will start my collection box for items I think of to grab and pack for the trip.

I have several "hoops" to jump through before my trip though:

---Minor surgery to replace my C6-C7 disk in my neck on May 7th; should be an overnight stay at most and necessary to relieve long-standing neck and hand problems; :tilt:

---Figure out how to relieve the recent pain in my right knee/leg so I can walk endlessly at Disney! I had a cortisone shot last week but that didn't help. :scratchin

---Pull together all the loose change in the house for my spending money! :hyper:

---Go visit my Mother about 70 minutes away and see how's she's doing!

I better start working on all of this! :thumbsup2

Thank you. I was supposed to go see her yesterday with my mom and dad. The only thing was that yesterday was the race at the Texas Motor Speedway. In order for me to have gone with them, they would to have to have gone way out of the way to pick me up and drop me off. I didn't want them to have to do that. I'll just go another weekend with them and see her. Mother's day is coming up, maybe I'll go then.
I hope the mil doesn't do that to y'all and the trip is still on. Honestly with all y'all have gone through with the work situations to be able to go, if it's all go with the jobs, I would still go. You should just tell her, "that's fine if y'all don't want to go, but we're going."

I think that is the same camera I bought for my dd. It takes really good pictures. And it's not real big and bulky. She seems to like it so far.

It's not really that bulky when compared to other cameras like it. It's just a lot bigger than the ones I am used to. I haven't taken a lot of picture with it, but it does take good pictures. The zoom on it is really good.

In case you missed it. Paid OFF trip!! Doing the Happy Dance! :dance3:

Congrats!!! :banana::dance3::dancer::dance3::banana:

Ouchie. That just doesn't sound minor, but then I'm a chicken when it comes to that kind of stuff. I hope it fixes your neck and hand problems and that you other problems are fixed as well.

Well on my to-do list for today, I have to take a Psyc quiz and then write a paper for my U.S. History class. Then with in the next couple of day, I have to take to final exams. I might go ahead and take the Psyc one today to get it out of the way. I swear, I should have listened to my mom and finished college before having kids. It's so much more of a pain in the rear trying to balance school and family.

I hear ya about the MD weather!! Where in Maryland are you?? We are at Ft. Meade (right between baltimore and DC) and it has been quite toasty here, too bad I had to spend my day inside doing taxes :( Oh well, whatever pays for my Disney obsession!
