***Official June, 2012! Hot, hot, hot!!!***

Ugh, June can't come soon enough!! Today is Tax Day, and I am at work all day doing taxes:( I have already had someone call and yell at me (at least the mistake wasn't my fault!) So ready to be in Disney, surrounded by friendly cast memebers...

I just need to stay in my "happy place" :earsboy:

We are having our Tax Season is over Party this evening but it's not as good as being at Disney. Most people didn't realize they had until the 17th so it hasn't been to busy today, just a few to get sent off once they sign the release. Glad you survived the stress.

I'm glad you are not too busy. I had hoped people would think friday or saturday was the deadline, but alas...oh well. I'm making it through! Thanks for the support!:surfweb:

I had done my federal taxes and one state, but was putting off the second state because I owed them money, or so I thought. I guess I finally added something that changed it to owing nothing, just hope it's right. If it is, I am $800 richer.

I had the most horrbile headache yesterday and gave up at lunchtime and went home and now it's back.

If my DH can pass his PT test this weekend, I am going to celebrate, if not and he can't get an extension, we won't be going on our trip to Biloxi on 5/11 or our June Disney trip.

I am so stressed out about that and I'm stressed about his parents coming and I don't even have a room neat enough for them to sleep in, because of his tool box and other car crap.

I'm in my "happy place" too! I am a teacher (high school!) and the end of the year is insane with stress. Furthermore, next school year will bring about big changes in our school, so I think about my Disney trip (68 days to go!) and my problem melt away (at least for a moment or two!)

Our June trips are so close, yet so far!

Luckily, we don't have to do state taxes here. We get our federal done asap b/c we want to get the money back. We would have gotten back almost $8K if his parents had been taking out taxes when they pay him instead of treating him like a 10-99 (or 1099 or whatever it's called). I just think of the trip I could have planned with that kind of money. :headache:

I hope the headache is better soon. I get them a lot, mainly due to blood pressure and they are just not fun at all.

Your DH won't need the extension b/c I know he is going to pass. To get ready for it, he can help you clean out some of his tool box or car crap out of a room for his parents. Tell him your doing him a favor by letting him get cheap exercise this way. :lmao:

Well I took the Psyc final and just have the U.S. History one to go. I figured out that as long as I get 49/225 points on the Psyc final, I will still pass.

Then with our WDW trip, I am really thinking about canceling the Orange Beach night stay on the way to WDW, even if we get my school money. It's 8 hours from Orange Beach to the hotel in Orlando. That doesn't include potty and gas stops, or the time changing ahead an hour. Our ADR at Ragland Road is for 7:35 PM. I'm just worried that it'll be too rushed to get from Orange Beach, AL to Orlando, get checked into our hotel, get the luggage into the room, drive to DTD, find parking, and check in at Ragland Road 15 minutes before our ADR. We'll still leave on the June 1st, if we get my money, but we'll just take our time and sight see on the way there. Maybe we can just stop and take the boys picture on the beach at Gulf Shores, AL. That's all I want there anyway. Besides, we're going to Cocoa Beach after, so it's not like we won't have any beach time for the entire trip.

Well I'm headed off the boards and back to my knitting. I think I have it totally figured out now.

Haha, sometimes that "happy place" is all that holds us together!! Good luck with the end of the year!

Well, we have to file 2 states, we live in AL and work in GA. My job and the Army take out AL taxes but DH's job takes out GA taxes. It's a pain, especially when you think you owe $800. I sure hope I'm not wrong, we can use some of that for our mini getaway before DH leaves for AT.

I sure hope you're right about the PT test, I am an anxious, nervous wreck! I'm trying to stay positive, but I am eating my weight in junk right now!

I think my headache is stress, weather, the hospital having the heat on in my office when it's 80 outside. My blood pressure was fine.

oh my goodness, I'm getting a headache just reading about the complication that is your tax situation. That is jsut crazy.

I am totally right about the PT test. I'll even bet a beer (and a girlie drink) on it.)

OK, who ever sets the temperature controls in that hospital need to be fired from that duty. That is craziness having the heater on when it's 80. Heck when it gets to around 70 around here, we have the ACs on some of the time.

Well it's 2:30 AM, I have to be up in 5 hours and I am still awake. At least I figured out my issue with the scarf I am making for our January trip. I made a new pattern and it helped tons. I'll posts pics of both sides.

Now I just need to make a pattern to include one side to have stripes, and then test that one out. Then the really hard part, of going to the store and picking out yarns.

Yes, it is a headache and if I had known that I wasn't going to have to pay AL anything, I would have filed it early with our Federal and GA for which we got a refund.

Well, his PT test is tomorrow, so he will have a chance to get a good nights sleep. He had drill today, but he has been up since yesterday morning about 6:30am and I have no idea what time he will get home tonight, there is no way he could have taken it today. I'm going to cook dinner tonight and make sure he eats before leaving in the morning.

I will take you up on that bet! And so will he...lol. I have promised him dinner anywhere he wants to go, the Ranger workout video he wants, and a new subscription to Army Times, and a mini romantic getaway to Biloxi before he leaves for AT (sounds like I'm bribing a child...lol) Whatever it takes.

If I knew who controlled the thermostat around here, they would be hearing from me. I have had my AC on at home for quite a while, I don't like to be hot!

Love, Love, Love that. That is one craft I never could learn to do. My aunt showed me over and over again and I just couldn't do it. I can sew and cross stitch amongst other things. I bet stripes would be beautiful.

Thank you. I tried to find a pattern online and couldn't. A really crafty friend of mine, told me about this website called Raverly. I found a picture of a scarf that someone had made with Mickey heads in it. She didn't put the pattern, but the picture was close enough that I could count her stitches.

I am just so glad that we don't have to deal with state taxes at all. I knew other states had to, but honestly didn't realize that you had to do tax returns like you do with the federal taxes. I had just assumed that it was all done when the federal ones were done.

He'll do great!! Make sure to let us know how it went.

If I knew who controlled the thermostat around here, they would be hearing from me. I have had my AC on at home for quite a while, I don't like to be hot!

For some reason when I read this, I had an imagine of woman roaming the halls of a hospital, dressed like Rambo, searching for the evil person that has control over the AC.

My mom is super crafty. Way more crafty than I am. She can see something in a store, go home, make a pattern, and then make it. When I was little, she made Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls and then made the cheerleader uniforms for the peewee cheerleaders. She made my wedding dress and the girl's dresses that were in the wedding. About when I was having kids, she worked for a doll company called "Daddy's Long Legs". Actually, I worked with her for a while doing that too.

I can sew, cross stitch and can crochet, but only basic stuff. I had a girl that I kept at a day care, I think she was about 12, try and teach me. I just didn't get it. I had also tried to learn before by buying the "how to knit" kit books. In fact when I finally learned I had gone to Wal Mart and bought the learning kit and just wasn't getting it. It wasn't until I found a tutorial on line and was able to watch it over and over and I was doing it, that I finally learned.

My mom gets a little annoyed that I can do it and she can't. When I show her something new that I have figured out with it, she'll say, "well you cleaver little spit (but an h instead, don't want to get in trouble for cussing ;) )

He didn't pass the PT test, he missed the run by 3 minutes. This is a disaster for us, we will lose so many benefits, including our health insurance. I just can't wrap my head around it all just yet. I don't think they will give him another extension, which is the only thing that will save us right now!

I am so sorry. I can't even imagine how stressful that must be for both of you. Hopefully, they will give him the extension. Do y'all know when he'll know if he gets one?

Well I decided I couldn't live with my grey hairs anymore last night, and when we went out to eat, I bought hair dye at Sally's beauty supply. I asked the girl for "idiot proof" hair dye b/c I had never done it myself before. I got brown with a hint of red. I asked Joey, our oldest DS how it looked and he said "orange". I asked my nephew, who was watching tv with Joey and he just laughed and said, "I'll let you tell her Joseph, I'm not saying anything." Then I went to ask Joh, our youngest, what he thought. Well he was playing the Diablo III beta on my DH's computer and when I got his attention and asked him, he quickly looked away from the computer, giggled, and went back to the computer. After he finished the beta, I asked him again, and like he always does he said that I looked beautiful. Then I asked him what he would say if it was someone else's mom, and he said, "I would point and say it looks like a turd." Since my DH said he could see stripes where there was too much color and not enough, I asked him if he could see stripes. He was like, "yeah, it looks like a stripped turd." When I woke up this morning, my DH called me Tony (as in Tony the Tiger) and said that he was in the mood for cereal. My sil made me feel better and said that it doesn't look as bad as my guys were saying it did and that it looked pretty good. That it didn't look orange at all, but auburn.

Princess Suzanne, I'm so sorry about your DH's PT test. I know what that kind of stress is like. Is there any way that he could look into medboarding instead of getting chaptered? (guessing you are talking about a chapter) I'll be crossing my fingers for your extension regardless. :goodvibes from one army fam to another.

Wookie, I have never personally dyed my hair, but I've dyed several friends and if anything, I've learned is that hair dye never works the way you want it to. :( Are you thinking to dye it again to cover the Auburn color?

In other news, we're getting into 45 day dance season!!!!!!!!:banana::banana: Hope everyone is as excited as I am!!

I had to lol when I read this. I had my hair professionally color last Tuesday and it is not even close to what I requested.:badpc::badpc: so frustrating paying full price and clearly not getting what you came for.:furious: Maybe your sil can help you:rolleyes1

Well, they said that they would do another PT test while they are away at AT, but that just cuts it so close to our trip. He tried to get to talk to the Commander yesterday, but didn't get to. He has 4 weeks before they leave for AT and he says he will do some more running and keep up some other things he has been doing. He did shave about 10 minutes off his last time, so if he can shave that 3 minutes off.

I have been coloring my own hair since I was 17, I just use the box color that you buy at Target. I grew up with my mom doing it every 6 weeks. I almost always choose an Auburn tone, because the first time I colored my hair it came out a shade of Auburn and I loved it, no other color seems to compliment my skin tone as well and my own color is very dark brown and almost dull, and now I am getting more and more gray, I'm almost 39, and I am NOT ready to be gray!

I'm not sure what medboarding or chaptering is. My husband is a Reservist, so I'm not sure if they have an option like that. I am hoping if he doesn't pass the next test, they will give him the extension since he is trying. Hopefully, he can go back to working out some more and shave off that 3 minutes. He felt like they were at a disadvantage at the location where they tested, they didn't get to test at the same location as the NCOs. He said if they had, he probably could he passed.

I just google med board and chaptering and he isn't going for either. He is nearing the end of his extended contract, someone talked him in to a 1 year contract when he went back into the Reserves and he didn't pass the PT test in October, so they extended him until June and it is time for a PT test. In order for him to re-enlist, he has to pass a PT test, he got a little bit out of shape and has been working on that. He has no problem doing his job and he doesn't give them any trouble. He just needs to finish out a few more years for his 20 years, and he is still young. He would like to reclass, but he has to reenlist first.

We are also at 45 days today, hope we get to go. I have the money for the trip and we still have our military benefits until just after our trip is over, but I think I would feel guilty spending it.
