~~*Official July 2013 Thread!*~~Our Month has Arrived!

The FB group is a pretty simple group where we ask questions and continue on with all that we do here on Dis.:)

I like belonging to it as well as here as it goes to my Blackberry in a simpler format. I can keep up with the conversations easier.:cutie:

I would definitely love to start a group on FB for those interested, but I didn't want to step on anyones toes.;)

Thought some of you might be interested in the response that I finally got from WDW after two phone calls and three e-mails. There is contradictory information posted on the Dining Reservations section of MDE and in the confirmation e-mails sent after one makes an ADR. Anyway, I finally got a definitive answer that may help some of us if we ever need to cancel an ADR.

Dear Mr. xxxx,

Thank you for contacting us at the Walt Disney World® Resort.

I am very sorry to learn of any conflicting information you have
received about our Table-Service Cancellation Policy. Select
Table-Service Restaurants do require a credit card in order to book a
reservation. This credit card is merely used to hold the reservation.
However, it will be charged a per person fee if the Guest does not show
up or the reservation is not cancelled at least one day in advance.

In the event that the Guest does not show up or the reservation is not
cancelled at least one day in advance, a fee of $10 per person will be
charged to the credit card. However, this fee is $25 per person for
Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. One day is
defined as the day before, up to 11:59 p.m. Therefore, our Guests have
until 11:59 p.m. the day before their reservation to cancel without a
charge.

A special phone line that only handles dining cancellations is available
for Guest convenience. This phone line is 407-WDW-CNCL. However,
Guests may also cancel their reservations by visiting
www.DisneyWorld.com/Dining, which is available 24 hours a day.

I apologize for your disappointment that these details are not provided
in the online booking process. Please be assured your feedback will be
shared with the appropriate team.

Mr. XXXX, thank you again for your honest and constructive feedback.

Best Regards,

Alana Reynolds

I guess we fit into this thread....and August's. Yey....2x the fun

Going July 28--Aug 8

Staying at BLT the whole time, it will be our 1st trip as DVC members.

Me, wifie, and daughter (7) and son (3). Both kids it will be their second trips. Wife and I had a few, honeymoon and I'm a former CP Cast member and designed the Birnbaum's guide books for a while years ago so was a there on biz often.

This will be our longest vacation as a family, so it's mixed with equal parts stress...fun...hopes and reality. But overall, I'm look g forward to getting off the grid for almost 2 weeks. No phone, no email, "gone fishin" sign on the business door and just go where the wind blows.

All our ADRs were booked at 180 mark, and most of our extras--BBB, pirates cruise, pool cabana. The only thing left to do is book the MK Dessert Party.

So at 130 or so days left, I have to admit I'm jonesing for something else to plan.

:happy dance:

I would also join if there was a Facebook group. Like someone said, it is easier with a smart phone or Black Berry.

It's almost time for me to call the MIL and see if she's gone over her Passporter. Hopefully she'll see something in there that will spark a desire for an ADR! If not, I'm going to go ahead and make an ADR or two next week for just the four of us. My goodness, this planning while trying not to step on the Inlaws toes is brutal.

Waiting for my "Orlando Aunt" to call me back and tell me if she can go to the parks on her season pass while we are there.... I'm going to guess no. :(

Welcome my friend and way to go in getting everything booked and ready..:cool1: Lets see if you need to plan anything else..... YES!!!! Do you need groceries delivered to your resort? We always order from Wego Shopping.

I would love it if I did not have to answer my cell phone or answer emails. My Boss hates it when I go on vacation so he emails, text and calls at least once a day with questions. I've worked for and have known my Boss for 25 + years and he still gets under my skin with it comes to go on vacation...

Not stepping on toes. I just don't have time to manage FB and here so it's all yours if you are interested.

July 5th leave Tennessee by 6 am, Condo @ Legacy Dunes
July 6th shop, explore, visit/dinner with relatives
July 7th Animal Kingdom / Dinner @ T-Rex
July 8th Epcot
July 9th Daytona Beach
July 10th Magic Kingdom
July 11th GatorLand / Airboat tour
July 12th Hollywood Studios
July 13th Clearwater Beach / visit family in Lakeland on way back
July 14th
July 15th Universal / IOA (????)
July 16th
July 17th Deep Sea Fishing (Clearwater)
July 18th SeaWorld
July 19th Coco Beach
July 20th leave

This was our original plan...... DH doesn't want me to make ADR @ T-Rex, wants to see how that day goes with DS, he is a lousy traveler and since we are driving over 700 miles he's afraid what kind of mood he will still be in. I think it's more he's afraid he will be too tired after day at AK!! LOL!!!

We've ddecided not to buy Universal/IOA tickets in advance. We will just see how it goes and if we decide to go just get them at the gate. I really think we will skip it!!

In-laws have scheduled vacation July 8 - 13, they usually visit a beach in FL. I'm not trying to be ugly, cause I love them to pieces but I hope they don't want to spend our vacation time together. DH & I haven't have a real vacation in years and are looking forward to just "us" family time. If they do I will let them know what our schedule is and they can either join us or not!

JULY 5th CAN NOT get here soon enough!!

It says content not found. :(

Oops!! I think I know what I did wrong...I made the group setting "secret", but I have now changed it to "closed" which means anyone can see the group, but only those in the group can see the posts.:flower3: Sorry about that.

That's what I get for trying to something I have never done before before I had my first cup of coffee!!:coffee:

Hello fellow July-ers! I've been thinking a lot about booking the Wishes Dessert party on July 3rd (even though it's not wishes that night) since MK is going to be crazy crowed. Has anyone done it? Is it a good value during the busy season? Not sure if i'll call myself to book it when it opens or let my travel agent do it, i know the ressies are going to go fast!

Still looking for opinions on the dessert party, would love to know if someone has done it during a busy time and if it's worth it. Thanks!

Would you mind posting another link? I can't seem to get it to work. Thanks for making the group!

I'm looking into an airboat tour. Could you tell me which one you chose? My DS11 will be psyched. We want to surprise him.

I did an airboat tour about 12 years ago, it was at a place called "GatorLand". Im pretty sure it's a haul from Orlando, but it was awesome. They give you ear plugs and you go whipping through the swamps. Very fun day. Enjoy your airboat experience, it is a hoot! You will feel like you are on that History Channel show, "Swamp People". :rotfl2:
