Thought some of you might be interested in the response that I finally got from WDW after two phone calls and three e-mails. There is contradictory information posted on the Dining Reservations section of
MDE and in the confirmation e-mails sent after one makes an ADR. Anyway, I finally got a definitive answer that may help some of us if we ever need to cancel an ADR.
Dear Mr. xxxx,
Thank you for contacting us at the Walt Disney World® Resort.
I am very sorry to learn of any conflicting information you have
received about our Table-Service Cancellation Policy. Select
Table-Service Restaurants do require a credit card in order to book a
reservation. This credit card is merely used to hold the reservation.
However, it will be charged a per person fee if the Guest does not show
up or the reservation is not cancelled at least one day in advance.
In the event that the Guest does not show up or the reservation is not
cancelled at least one day in advance, a fee of $10 per person will be
charged to the credit card. However, this fee is $25 per person for
Victoria & Albert's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. One day is
defined as the day before, up to 11:59 p.m.
Therefore, our Guests have
until 11:59 p.m. the day before their reservation to cancel without a
charge.
A special phone line that only handles dining cancellations is available
for Guest convenience. This phone line is 407-WDW-CNCL. However,
Guests may also cancel their reservations by visiting
www.DisneyWorld.com/Dining, which is available 24 hours a day.
I apologize for your disappointment that these details are not provided
in the online booking process. Please be assured your feedback will be
shared with the appropriate team.
Mr. XXXX, thank you again for your honest and constructive feedback.
Best Regards,
Alana Reynolds
