I just saw that another tropical depression just like Alex may be headed for the Gulf later this week. I hope this is not the pattern for the rest of the summer and that we all don't end up completely soggy and gross. I don't mind rain on some days. I think it helps keep the crowds away, but I don't think I can take rain every day. Ugh!

Argh, this doesn't sound good!

Good morning! I am back from my whirlwind 2 day solo trip. :lmao:

Weather was rainy and crowds were lower than expected. I did a lot and my feet and legs hurt from all the walking. I'm going to try and write a small trip report within the next week. My flight was delayed last night and I got home rather late.

I also booked a trip for 11/28-12/3. Now just have to hope all the stars align correctly so we can make this trip happen. :wizard:

We are driving down in 3 days.:cool1: Doing final wash :laundy: then we are going to pack our clothes. Already packed stuff for the room. Puppy's bag is packed. Getting together a bag for us for the way down. I still have lots to do and worrying that I am going to forget something essential. Now I must get back to work. But what fun work it is :dance3:

Did you book a bounceback? We were thinking of going to the Food and Wine and hoping the bounceback offer is still available.

Welcome back! That's good that the crowds were low, but sorry the weather wasn't great! Looking forward to your TR!

Yes. :) I had 2 timeframes I wanted to try (week before Thanksgiving or week after). The week before had no availability at POFQ so we are doing the week after.

I am getting ready - just some items to help those of you who want to pack, but really it is too far (more than a week out or so).

I charged my daughters ipods, replaced the batteries in their cameras, I am uploading the pics on the SD cards to snapfish (700 or so random cat and pet pictures on each card - this might take all day!).

I cut a sponge in half and put dish soap on each to dry (this is so we can wash breakfast plates in the villa- but is perfect for those of you with little ones whose sippy cups and binks you must wash.)

charging batteries for our cameras

downloaded update on the GPS

printed more car activities for kids

printed movie schedule for outdoor films: buildbettermousetrip.com

I'll report back with anything else I think might be useful!

We leave in 3 days and I am so not ready! Those pre-vacation nerves are turning into pre-vacation anxiety. I need to have everything packed by wednesday morning so that gives me tonight and tomorrow I'm hoping I can get everything taken care of!

We designed some Disney tshirts last night, I will post pics if anyone is interested in seeing?

I also had a dream that Toy Story Mania was closed...then started to wonder if that wasn't just a dream!

Hope everyone else is having less panic than me when it comes to packing!

We have 13 days too and I thought yesterday about starting my bag of random stuff. You know, band aids, medicine, wrinkle release spray (love this stuff!,) sunscreen, bug spray, etc... Well, I have a checklist, and figured I'd just check it off as I put it in, but I know myself too well and I know that in a week and a half when it's crunch time I will unpack that bag and re-do it just to make sure I was accurate the first time :rotfl:

My pre-trip anxieties are also kicking in. LOL I made my CLEANING TO DO LIST yesterday. I like to actually cross things off the list so I make the list. I have to have my house clean and everything in its place before leaving. It bugs me otherwise. SO.....I am putting off stuff every day so I can get the cleaning done closer to when we leave on Sunday. SO....that in turn makes me feel like I AM NOT GETTING ANYTHING DONE. It is a vicious cycle :rotfl2:

Well my dd decided TO NOT major in dance...a HUGE sad decision because she too realizes that you are OLD by the time you are in your mid 20's. However she is still taking dance classes at Towson and she even had approval to take some Dance Major Classes last year (Freshman Year) and will do that again. She takes 2 each semester and still gets to perform because they are Dance Major classes. We went twice last year to see her in the performances in the winter and spring. This summer she is taking drop in classes a couple of times a week....she says all the time "I am so out of shape" because I am not dancing all the time anymore. She is classically trained in Ballet but also did the dance company throughout high school...what I call "Hootchie Mama" dancing. :rotfl: She loves dance.

Writing all my friends from the Yacht Club. It is quite comfortable and a little rainy today. In my opinion it is just perfect. The humidity is low and it is great park weather! I am so amazed on how low the crowds are. We walked right into Turtle Talk with Crush and Nemo yesturday, July 4th with NO wait!! Totally cool! And I am so excited we got a bounceback offer.... now only to talk DH into it:cool1:! I will put together a post trip report when I get home.. until then.. peace , love and pixie dust!:goodvibes

:cool1: You guys are so lucky to have low crowds!
I'm with you - a little rain is not a bad thing at all! I just hope we don't end up with a wash-out with the depressions floating around!

Thanks for all the clever ideas, everyone!
I made some "info cards" to take with us to the parks. On one side, I listed the attractions we most want to see at each park. I noted the location and any special notes ("Fast Pass" or "rarely has a line" stuff like that). On the flip side, I listed 3 CS and 3 TS restaurants that had gotten good reviews and were not too expensive. I also hunted restaurants that tend to have openings - we only have 1 ADR - we are winging it!!!
Anyhoo - I'm laminating them at OfficeMax so they won't be ruined if they get wet. So, when we head out to a park, we just grab that card to take in the bag and we have somewhat of a loose plan. I hope it works!!!
Here is a pic - sorry it is so big - my pics come out so HUGE!!

Wow! You are super organized! Your cards are really cute!!!

Just got home from a day late 4th of July parade. 91 is not good marching weather.(I'm in a Knights of Columbus colour guard.) MIL, DW's aunt, grandma and nieces and nephews left this morning for one of the niece's dance competition at Sea World Orlando. Only four and a half days of work left then we fly out Sunday. The luggage and stroller left already so no checking of luggage for the flight. Only one week til we get my munchkin to her first trip to the world.
