isn't that always the case.

months and months of planning and chatting about our trips and most of us jump into panic mode a week before we leave because there's so much to do LOL

Everything is falling into place so far!!

I finished all of our park touring plans, packing list is complete (had to update a few things), and I just printed everything out for our entire vacation itinerary!! I also printed out the Allergy Forms I sent to Disney Dining (DS5 is allergic to shellfish), with all our ADR info on them. I emailed them to Disney, but I printed a copy to have on me just in case. DH went to a bachelor party last night in Atlantic City and he used the small bag for his overnight things. I told him that he can leave it upstairs after he unpacks it tonight, and I can start putting in the travel-size toiletries that we won't use at home anyway. I have tons of Gallon-size ziplock bags to put away anything that may spill. To me, it's mote annoying packing all of that than the clothing...I always feel like I will forget something when it comes to toiletries or medication! I always pack some children's Tylenol & Motrin, Adult aspirin, tylenol and advil (each one serves a different purpose for me so yes I need all 3! :lmao:), nasal spray, Tums, Prilosec, etc. All of the "just-in-case" medicines that we hope we won't need! This is where I always overpack!!! But I drive myself crazy...I always feel like I forgot something even though I didn't!

We have all plans in place for the morning we leave to drive down to NC. We'll get up at 4AM, get ready, load the car with all the luggage (I never put the luggage in the car the night before...too paranoid!), wake the boys at 5am and give them a small snack (like a Nutri-grain bar or something), and go to the Bagel Store around 5:30 when they open. We'll grab some bagels for the road (we stop in Baltimore and have breakfast, that way we avoid the rush hour there while we are eating), some iced coffee at Dunkin Donuts and hit the road!!! We did the same thing last time, except DH went out for bagels to a different bagel store that opened at 5 while I got the kids ready...much more efficient the way we are doing it this time! And I have to have one last Brooklyn bagel before hitting the road for an 18-night trip, because I don't eat bagels outside of NY! ;)

Tomorrow is my last day of work, although I stopped teaching on the 14th because of state exams. We have yet another busy weekend coming up for the 4th of July weekend, getting together with DMIL & DFIL on July 5th, then cleaning, laundry and packing on the 6th and 7th and then we hit the road on the 8th! 11 days to go!!!

DD9 had strep thoat last week! Hopefully we will be in the clear of bugs and viruses. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Here's some pixie dust coming your way! :wizard:

You'll have a great time!! Even if someone is sick, strep goes away in one day and there are always doctors around to go to...a friend of mine took her kids to WDW 2 years ago and her daughter got an ear infection on the day they got there...she took her to a doctor right near WDW, got her an antibiotic and she was fine within a day! They went to the parks as scheduled because she felt so much better the next morning and she had no fever. I always worry one of the kids will be sick when we go on vacation too...if it is me or DH, we'll be fine, but I want my kids to be able to enjoy everything and not feel icky.

Well wishes to all of those fighting germs! Best wishes to those leaving this week!

Meanwhile, I will hang out popcorn:: while I try to hold off on the packing. In two weeks we will be on the road! We began watching the Star Wars films to build a little background knowledge for my daughters. (They love Star Tours, but they will appreciate it even more now!) We will probably watch IV tonight.

:idea:I have to get Indiana Jones films from the library so we can watch them too.

I have a planner notebook with all of the info to carry in my VB yellow bird backpack (I might be the only one without a hipster ;)) Last night I started creating a binder of the printed information: Touring plans.com info, info I researched to put in my PTR about the resorts and parks.

I wonder how I will make it two more weeks, but then I can just think back to when I was doing the 100 day dance!

I love how everyone is starting to really ramp up their preparations! It's so exciting! I'm going to be without a car for a few days this week because DH's needs some work done and he wants to put it on his Disney Visa so we can get the last few disney dollars before his statement closes! DD is working at a basketball camp all week so she's taking her car and I'll be housebound - good time to do all of the sorting, packing, list making etc. lol

help

i'm trying to preorder the photopass cd but can't get the code or like to the 99 dollar special.

For anyone else going the same week as us (week of July 18,) I just noticed some of the park hours were extended since the last time I checked (which was on June 6.):banana: For some reason, DHS is still closing at 7:00 and 8:00 on a few days, though :confused3

12 more days!!!

Happy vacation to all those leaving in the next few days!!!!!!

Kurby, the link for the $99 PhotoPass CD is also on mousesavers.com (under other Disney World Discounts and Deals). I'm not sure why the link I posted isn't working for you. The $15 off offer isn't good on the $99 pre-order...I tried it last night....and it doesn't work. :(

Why am I so nervous??
Well...one I hate packing when flying. I always forget something. I'm worried I will pack something thats not allowed. lol.

Also my son has swimmers ear....we had to go to ER Friday because our dr was on vacation. We started drops but he is STILL miserable. Calling our own dr tomorrow to see what we can do. I dont want him to be in pain on the plane:(

got it to work.

for some reason it wasn't holding my log in info and would keep sending me to the log in page then push me to the beginning of the session like i just went to the photopass site and i couldn't find the $99 page again.

got it working now though :)

5 more days!

I think I'm going to burst with excitement!

Safe journeys to all who are beginning your travels.

To the rest of us - Our vacations will be here soon - HURRAY!

Car service picks us up at 5:30 am to head to the airport tomorrow to officially begin our vacation! :yay:I am trying to calm down a little but I'm very nervous that after all this preparation I'll forget something and also because the whole family has colds,(me and DD with coughs) :sick:and I've been feeling tired all week.
I am going to try and rest as much as possible today but that will be a little hard given the inevitable last minute tasks that need done before we go. I've asked DH to help me out so I don't completely run myself into the ground. (We'll see how that goes!)
Anyhow, I've enjoyed counting down with you guys and I'll be looking for some of you in Epcot on the 4th! Hope your trips run smoothly!:goodvibes

Very cute, Nikki!

Today is my first official day of summer vacation!!! Whoo-hoo! I was thinking of trying something different this trip--maybe parasailing. Has anyone ever done the parasailing? If so, how much does it cost and is it worth it?

Well - less then a week for me before our month of travel starts.

i've started our trip report - the link is in my siggy :)

The also added more Fantasmic dates and two times each night!
OOh! I hadn't even checked that. Yippie :)

I was wondering this too. Every trip we try to do something different. I know I prob wouldn't like this too much (I hate heights,) but my DH would LOVE IT! I can't speak about the experience since we, obviously, haven't done it yet, but Sammy Duvalls website has the pricing info. You leave from the marina at the Contemporary :thumbsup2

Congrats to those who are in the single digits as well as those who are close to being on their way or already on their way.

I still have about 16 days left and am trying to figure out how I'm going to kill time. I have to make sure I have everything packed because of the dream I had last night.
