Is this the first time for this event or is it held every year? Just wondering what resort they will be staying at and how this will effect the crowd level.

Wow!
Great tips. Thank you so much!

You are welcome!

Not sure if I mentioned this before - but our dates are the same, but we are now booked into the WL. Got some sort of deal that our TA found that included a $750 gift card. Which you pay for a good portion of, but still netted out about $100 less.

You must have, because I think it is correct on page 100. What luck - a gift card!

long walk in the heat and you are tired from the day at the park!

That is what I thought - it always looks closer than it is on a map.

Will be at BWV July 26-30. I have the following ADR's
July 27th - Shula's
July 28th - Tokyo Dining
July 29th - Il Mulino
:cool1:

Welcome! I have added you to the list on page 100 - and I am sure Nikki will be along to add your ADRs.

Oh yeah! We will be at OKW July 18th -31st

Welcome! I have added you to the list on page 100 - if you want to post your ADRs, Nikki will be updating that list.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned. I didn't have time to read all 104 pages of this thread but this is just A FYI.. Has everyone heard about ESPN Rise Games held at The Walt Disney World Resort. Expected to host 13,000 students July 17th thru July 29th.. Just thought I let everyone know of this event.

Where online can I read some information about this event? We'll be at WDW from July 13th through the 23rd and hope this does not affect us too much during the second half of our trip! I wonder where they are staying.

oh i'd like to know too - wonder if they have a schedule we can see and avoid :)

Add in the LOUD chanting and singing and it just changes the mood of the Magic Kingdom, you know? Instead of hearing the beautiful mood music and seeing all the streetlike details, you see masses teenagers in colorful shirts and hear them singing & cheering/chanting. It very much alters the experience that Disney has worked so hard to convey. They want to transport you in time, and that doesn't happen.[/QUOTE]

We found this to be true a few years ago. We were waiting for Fantasmic and it just really killed the excitment for us. There were about 3 different groups and it was like they were arguing back and forth. Didnt watch the show. :confused3

Oh sorry! New here.

DH and I are going to be at POFQ from 7/11 through 7/17. My second trip his first. :cloud9:

Although my first trip was more of a teaser. We stayed at AKL but only for 2 days then flew home.

oh i'd like to know too - wonder if they have a schedule we can see and avoid :)

I found some more info on lodging. It looks like All Star Sports and CSR are the Disney hotels being advertised.

Also, it appears they had the same event in 2009 - so I guess we need folks who were there during that time to chime in (July 19-25, 2009). Since this is the first I am hearing about it, it probably isn't a crowd buster.

I was there those exact dates last year. Didn't know anything about it....

And so it appears our only concern once again will be throngs of tour groups. LOL. When I see them, I simply go left, if they go right. Come to think of it, I almost always go left. =)

Oh, and of course the heat...:scared:

Shh!! Don't let the "go left" secret out of the bag! ;)

Like Nikki, I was there during those dates last year and didn't even know it was going on. The parks didn't seem any more crowded than normal. So it looks like we're all going to be ok. Or as ok as July will allow us to be.

Remember everyone, July is a horrible, terrible, awful month to visit Disney. The absolute worst. Don't even bother going. If you're thinking about booking a July trip, DON'T. It will be the biggest mistake you've ever made. WDW in July is hotter than the surface of the sun. Do you really want to have to go to the hospital because of heat stroke? I didn't think so. Plus, my aunt's grandma's brother's podiatrist told me this horrible rumor that to save money WDW isn't going to run the AC anymore. Florida without AC is like a death sentence. So if you don't want die, you shouldn't travel in July. See that even rhymes. That means it's extra true. :thumbsup2 And there's no need to thank me for all of this advice. I'm just a concerned citizen trying to keep everyone safe.

Ok. Hopefully I scared enough people off. I think we need to start talking in code around here. Maybe then we can have the parks to ourselves. Muahahahahaha.

So we gave in and extended our reservations. We're now going July 3 - 7 at Saratoga Springs and then over to BLT for July 7-11.

The main reason we're going early is we saw where Pat Benetar and REO Speedwagon are going to be at Universal Studios the night of July 3. (I may be aging myself here).

So here are the ADR's we already had for the second leg of the trip:

Wed 7/7/10 7:15 PM San Angel Inn Restaurante (us)
Thu 7/8/10 7:50 PM Teppan Edo (family)
Fri 7/9/10 7:45 PM Chef Mickey's (girls)
Sat 7/10/10 1:00 PM Sci-fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant (girls)
Sat 7/10/10 1:25 PM The Hollywood Brown Derby (us)
