That is why I'm stressed. To do evening EMHs or not to do them. I have heard both positive and negatives about them.

Plan A: do all the evening EMHs but not close down the park and get to RD each day, except for a sleep in day. (Different parks am and pm)

Plan B: do all evening EMHs and close down the park. Sleep in every day, do pool, etc until about 2PM Rope drop 1 day for HS for TSM.

Plan C: avoid parks with evening EMHs, get to rope drop. Will do one eveing EMH at MK but sleep in day is the next morning. (Different parks am and pm)

Have a good trip. You are so lucky to be leaving tomorrow.

I am with you on this too. Here is a thread I started recently

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2491526

We have almost always gone to a park that does NOT host an EMH PERIOD. We have tried the EMH evening once at EC when they first started them up in 2007 and we have done a MK maybe twice but that has been a few years too. I am always temped because or our kids ages. THEY WANT TO SLEEP IN.

You know your family best--I would say try one day each way and see which you and they prefer. My kids are teens, and they get up 5x a week @ 5:30am for swim practice so getting up for RD isn't a problem for us. I will say that I've done the AK EMH and it was really nice. Of course it's not one of those super late nights, so maybe that's why we loved it.

Go with this one! Last year we did RD July 9-16 and what a difference! It was almost dead in the parks until 10am (except for HS, but that's thanks to TSMM). Stayed one night for evening EMH at MK--it was open til 2am but we only made it til 1am. Had a long nap that afternoon and a day off the following day, but it really wasn't worth it for me. It also was totally unnecessary.

Thanks for your advice.

Reading your thread was got me thinking about my Plan B.

Usually on vacation I don't have a problem with getting them up. But if we are up too late, there is no way we will be up and ready for RD the next day.

Got my ME tags today also!!! first time to use them, I hope it turns out OK.

I just can't believe it's going to be here before I know it.

I just got my Frogg Toggs. They are a lot bigger than I anticipated. The first thought I had was - wonder if I can cut it in half. Hmmm... anyway took it out and the textured side felt really cold. I put it around my neck and it felt great. It says on the packaging that you can keep it in a ziplock bag for carrying it around. I think my DS is going to love it. DH - probably will do the manly guy thing - "I don't need that! It's not hot!" Which is why I didn't order him one!

Hmm, I wonder if I should get the bandana style ones then? Let me know if you cut it and it still works well!

i'm a little upset right now - i got an email this morning stating that the company i ordered those chilly pads are sold out - even though it didn't say that on their site.

she asked if i wanted to wait or get a refund - i chose the refund because she couldn't tell me when they would get a shipment in.

now i have to either go to the 1 place that sells them here and get only blue or see if i can find another place to buy them. :( and i haven't received confirmation that they gave me the refund for the 8 i purchased.

agrrrr - i had nothing to do for weeks now i have all this running around, laundry, packing, more running around and only 5 days before we leave for Quebec.

a question now.

can i leave everything in the vault and just bring the room/ticket/charging card?

i know i'll be thinking i lost my purse but has anyone ever done this?

we'll have charging to our room key and it'll be our park ticket so is there anything we may actually need a credit card for or can we charge everything back to the room?

Thank you - and in a few weeks I can say the same thing to you!

As for EMH, IMHO - MK is the best park for evening EMH. I always try to plan to do those, and sleep in the next day. My kids are 16 and 13 (and 50 :rotfl:) They like sleeping in. Every once in awhile we will do rope drop - especially at DHS for Toy Story, and sometimes Epcot for Soarin. We did not see a lot of value in evening EMH at the other parks, and even if you do them - they are not open nearly as late as MK. Mk at 3am is awesome!!

Morning EMH works well at any of the parks, but honestly, I would not try to do them all.

Good luck with planning, and don't stress too much. These things have a way of working out.

Wendy, have a great trip! If you forget something, you can always go to the Walmart in Orlando. :lmao:

Thanks Debby!! I know where that Walmart is too! Have fun planning and packing over the next few weeks.

I know how you feel about the running!!

As for your ticket, every once in awhile there could be a food cart or something that cannot take a room key. So having a few dollars cash is sometimes good. I love not having a purse, but that rarely happens. Sometimes I will do it for EMH when I don't need my sunglasses, and all the other stuff that seems so vital -:lmao:

If you can manage, I say go for it!

You can, but I'd throw a $20 somewhere in your pocket. There are times when a stand/cart won't take the KTTW. Like funnel cakes.

Your kids and mine are the same ages and complete opposites. :rotfl:Have a great trip!

Well, I guess I need to stop playing on the computer and get some sleep. We are going to try to be on the road around 7am.

I will be seeing some of you very soon - and for everyone else, enjoy the anticipation, your trips will be starting when mine is over!

Just received my Vera Bradley Hipster and wallet and I ADORE them! I haven't carried Vera Bradley in years but I really think this is going to work. I'm definately bringing plastic bags, though, to pop my wallet in if it rains or on wet rides! Somebody also said that the magnetic clasp demagnetized their AP - has anyone else had this problem with not just their AP, but other cards?? If so the passes will be in my passholder around my neck! Have a GREAT trip everyone who is leaving soon or who are on their way!

I got my hipster yesterday!!! EXCELLENT information about the magnetic clasp. I will def keep my AP away from it! :thumbsup2

That stinks!! What about ebay - I think the persons username was tennishead...but I also think he only had blue. I got my two blue ones today. I feel responsible for your stress...wish there was some way I could help!
Debbie

We leave in two weeks too! Except we'll be driving straight through and get there about 9-10pm that night! Still so much to do! :scared1:

We're driving straight through, too! For us, it's an 18 hour drive. We plan on leaving around 8pm and should arrive at our condo by 4pm. We're going to be too pooped to go to a park that day, especially since I'll have to go to the grocery store.

Okay, Now I know it is getting time to go soon. The documents arrived a week ago. My Vera Bradley Hipster arrived yesterday as did a lanyard and lanyard pouches for each of us. The box of Disney stuff has been out grown so I needed to find a bigger box. Now using the Vera Brandley boxes.

I am not even below 20 days yet and I am getting very excited.

What hipster patterns did you girls get?
I saw the sale - but none of them were much different than the ones I already have. I have a bermuda blue, purple punch, and capri melon. Kinda makes the spectrum...

I know a lot of you guys are leaving soon (on the road today, too!) - safe travels to everyone - have a wonderful time!!! I can't wait to see all your TR's when you get back!!!

Quick question for everyone regarding EMH days - some people avoid EMH days because they are more crowded. Some people use them for the extra hours. We will not be taking advantage of any PM EMH hours (DD2 poops out too early) but possibly morning EMH hours. I have no idea how quickly we'll get moving in the mornings, though. We'll try. ANYHOO - what is everyone's opinion on handling EMH days?

Hipster pattern-Bali Gold (I think) and Mom got a messenger bag in a similar blue print.

I have used morning EMH and if you get there early not a problem. I am using evening emh for the first time when we go in July simply because of the heat amd humity

I bought the Puccina (or something like that) months ago but I realized it was going to clash with just about everything I was planning on wearing so I just bought the Imperial something....It's mostly brown with white and just a touch of pink. :thumbsup2
