I did the dry run with the suitcases too in the trunk (felt stupid doing it) so i am glad I am not alone...

We didn't feel stupid doing it since DH actually had real loaded luggage to put in the car...if I had asked him to do a dry run with empty luggage I think he would have told me I was insane... It's such a good idea to do a dry run, though -- it would be awful to get everything packed, only to find out it won't all fit in the car!

Yup!! I had to take SOMETHING out! Besides, if we really need it, DVC has them available. The snowcone machine can double for tropical drinks.. as can the Mexico pavilion!

Oh.. I'm so sorry to hear that!! I'm sure that her spirit will be with you on your trip. I know it'll be hard. When my mom died 10 years ago.. we wondered if there would ever be happiness again. But there is. Once you're in the Disney bubble, and you're seeing the little ones enjoy the parks, you'll smile and feel your mom's arms around you. and happiness will be among you!

They have some special promo to bring the kids and they have a party with the characters while the parents empty their wallets. How is SSV? I love Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa!! I don't know if they're still selling interests in SSR, I'm pretty sure that WL is also closed. Right now, they're actively selling BLT (Bay Lake Tower) and Kidani Village at AKV. That said, you can buy resale, but its not always the best deal. All resales have to go through DVC approval. If the sales price is too low, the developer has first right of refusal to buy the interest back. So, it is possible for the developer to have resale contracts available. The difference between a new contract and a resale contract is that the new contract is for 45 years. A resale contract will be for whatever time is left on the contract. Although, you may think that 45 seems long enough (especially if you're in your 40's or older), remember that the contract's ownership can pass to your children. I placed my contract in my revocable living trust for estate purposes. Also, on new contracts, they often will offer deals, such as discounts off the cost per point or retroactive points or even free vacations (that don't count against your point use). Visit the DVC sale center at SSR. Ask for Edwin Mastrapa and tell him that I sent you. Of course, he knows me as Mindy Walbesser not Mindy5767!

but my DH - would never, ever put them on
I tell you I'm limited to what color shirt I can buy him - there are only about 3 colors that he'll consider masculine enough for him - I think he might need some therapy but too late I already spent that money on Disney

• Okay I need to STOP changing my ADRs!!! I dumped Chef Mickey on the 13th for Whispering Canyon Cafe at 5:30. Then I added LeCellier at 2:40 for lunch on the 16th which I guess I was lucky to get - I hope I can get dinner at that time. And for the biggest news I was able to get the wishes dessert buffet on the 16th too at 9p. I figure after eating at LC at 2:40 we may not be hungry until 9 - so dessert for dinner! What a way to wrap up our trip!! I have not told the kids yet about Wishes - it will be a suprise!! OMG only 10 days to go - I have not packed a thing!
  
  On a sad note, I have not been on the board recently, I very very very unexpectedly lost my mom on the 14th. I am in such a funk/depression, etc. I hope I can enjoy Disney. I feel bad going, but I am sure she would want me to take the kids.... Sorry to be a downer on what should be such a happy time.

  You can still buy at SSR. I believe the event they are holding at the Contemporary said they are selling at SSR, BLT and AKV. All CBR dwellers;
we are using Wed., July 22nd as our play at the pool day. I'll try and decorate our stroller so that we can be recognized. I don't have any pictures of all us I can post. I'm the one behind the camera usually.

Wednesday, July 22 is a non-park day for us, too, although we will be going to one of the water parks in the morning (probably until early afternoon), then will be back at CBR for a few hours before heading to DTD for dinner. We'll try to find you! Our picture is on pg 178.

I'm getting into panic mode now! Help! I haven't started packing anything and I don't even know where to start or what I still need to buy. I'm usually pretty much ready at this point, but I've had overseas visitors for the past two weeks. They left on Sunday, which put me here

I haven't read through everything I missed, but I have to say I like the POTC crocs I am another one with a DH who won't even wear sandals, so it would be a miracle for him to wear crocs. He did get these water shoe/sneaker type things for this trip, although I did have to remind him he can NOT wear socks with them...

Thanks for the info about DVC. I have been lurking on the DVC boards trying to get some knowledge. I know I don't want a resale, too many incentives to buy direct now. I'll cross my fingers that all goes well maybe a little disney magic is all I will need!

You can still buy at SSR. I believe the event they are holding at the Contemporary said they are selling at SSR, BLT and AKV. Oh I am glad to know we can still get SSR. BLT looks a bit too modern for me and my group. AKV looks good too - heck anyone would do it's all good at Disnney right!

Also thanks again for your kindness. It has been a very rough time for us. She was so young only 60 and my kids are really crushed, they were so close to her. But on to happy thoughts, right??
