DH had to go to work early this am, he left at 5. I got up at 4:45... yuk! I was reading him things on here, he just  and said "Have fun at band camp today"

I am a teacher, and haven't slept past 6:40 yet this summer. I am turning in to my mother!:scared1: I never could figure out why she got up so early! 2 kids later, the peace of the morning is sacred!

I got DH some new luggage in April for his birthday. Mickey, of course, on the Disney outlet for next to nothing. We really needed to move into this century and get some pullman. This will be our first trip with it, we put it in the trunk last night, and there is lots of room for other stuff! YAY!!! I'll fill it up quickly!

So today, I am going to pay bills, get the toiletries bags packed as much as possible, back our park bags, clean pennies for pressed pennies, get the girls' Disney outfits together, hmm.... and maybe make a sign for our door/window at pop! Good thing I got up early huh. :surfweb: Doing nothing until I finish my first 2 cups of coffee, though! Being on the Dis is a great alternative to billpaying!

5 days until the single digit dance!:cool1:

I have done no packing....man do I need to get my rear in gear....!

I need to get busy packing this weekend too.

I think we are going to end up with
an ice chest
toiletry bag
large suitcase
2 small suitcases
large plastic bin
duffle for shoes
large book bag - (for reading material during the drive and maps)
box of snacks

:scared1: yikes I feel like I'm moving - I hope it all fits in the expedition
maybe my DH was right when he said it wasn't all going to fit:rolleyes1
I hate it when he's right:headache:

Last year we went in July and had a great time- but it was smokin' hot! This year we went 6 weeks earlier (just got back) thinking we'd beat some of the heat and humidity. NOT! Timed it just right for the big heat wave. :( Hi 90's w/heat index around 105 every day! Definitely needed those squirty water fans!

Although we melted, we still had a blast! Looks likes the temps are back to 'normal' now. Hope all you Juliers have a great time. I want to go back already!:cool1:

We had a good "dry run" with packing our trunk yesterday morning (we bought a new car in November so this is our first "road trip" with more than just me and DH going overnight). DH took DD14 and two other teenage girls to a 5 day long church youth conference...so he had three teenage girls and all of their luggage, plus they had to take their own bedding. He was able to fit all of it into the trunk, so they only had their tote bags in the car with them (they all wanted quick access to their phones, snacks, iPods, etc. - LOL). That bodes very well for being able to get all of our stuff into the trunk, since teenage girls don't usually pack light, and I don't either!

My parents will be driving down with us and taking their van, so we will be able to put stuff in their van for the drive down -- they'll bring our two cases of water and the box/bin with all of our breakfast/snack stuff for the week. Those will be used up while we're at WDW so we won't have to worry about bringing them home.

Right now I think our car will be carrying:

1 small ice chest/cooler (for drinks/snacks on the way down)
3 suitcases (one huge, two medium)
1 large rolling duffel bag
backpacks/car bags for the girls (they'll have those in the car with them)
and probably pillows for the car

I think we'll be able to fit it. I hope so!

It's almost time! Work is getting tougher to deal with as I get closer to the day we're leaving, only 2 more working days to go!

We're at CBR too! In a pirate room. That's crazy.

Neat! We're in a regular room -- I think I requested Martinique or Jamaica? I can't remember -- I need to go look at that! A picture of our family is in the pictures thread (pg 178) -- I'll make a sign for my door...it would be wonderful to meet you there!

I would also say that my wife is a heavy packer. This year we are taking the car (not mini-van as it is $300 more) and the auto-train, so my wife is limited to what fits in the trunk and a carry-on book bag for each of the 3 kids..To her credit, she has adjusted nicely. I did the dry run with the suitcases too in the trunk (felt stupid doing it) so i am glad I am not alone...:rotfl:
