Official January 2015 Thread!!!

How do you make "tentative" FP+ reservations?

Sorry, I should of been more clearer. I didn't make the reservations, I just wrote down on a piece of paper the dates of the different parks we are going to and jotted down 3 FPs that I am hoping to get for those dates (kind of like a spreadsheet). I know, I am crazy like that :goodvibes.

I am currently too close and too far from my trip to plan anymore. I'm going a little bit crazy trying to keep myself busy. We're staying from the 7th to the 15th.

That is exactly what I was thinking this morning! There isn't too much to plan right now. I'm waiting for the 30 day mark to book a BOG lunch fastpass. To keep myself busy I like to play around with different touring plans even though I doubt we'll follow it completely.

We are at the stage where we kinda know which park we will be in on what days, and have a couple of ADRs. We are really hoping it will be slow enough we won't really need fastpasses. Im gonna make FP+ ressies, but Im hoping they won't be that necessary.

I'm hoping the same thing but I still setup some FP+ for some of the key attractions. With two young kids (5 yo and 1.5 yo) it would actually be best if I didn't have too many time restrictions and could go with the flow more. I'm not going to take too much of a chance though and try to make sure I have the best FP+ reservations I can get. Of course I have to have ADR's or otherwise we won't be able to eat!

I booked our FP+ ressies over the weekend!
I made everything that I wanted.
I'm so excited for DD to meet Anna & Elsa!

curious to know what time of day were online making your FP+ resevations (ie, exactly 60 days out, at midnight) and what day of your trip you were able to make the A+E FP for. A lot of people are suggesting not trying to FP+ A+E and SDMT for the first day of a visit, but i'm wondering if low crowds in Jan might negate this advice.

Thanks!

56 more days! I was really surprised to get FP+ for Anna &Elsa and for the Cinderella and Rupunzel, for my mom and I. This is for day 1 of 2 at MK. I made my FP+ selections the morning of my 60 day mark and lots were available.

My trip is a short trip and we're coordinating with another family.
So, our MK day is on day 3 of our trip.
I logged on at midnight for make FP+ for Fri - 1/16 (HS), Sat - 1/17 (Epcot), Sun - 1/18 (MK) and Mon - 1/19 (AK).

I started with Sun - 1/18 and here are the times:
A&E - 1:40pm-2:40pm; SDMT - 3:05pm-4:05pm
A&E might have had something earlier (11ish?), I'm not sure.
Once I had it, I didn't want to mess with it and it worked with my lunch reservation just fine.
My 3rd FP+ for MK is for Peter Pan. I could have made that for ANY time of the day, but I have it sometime around 5:40. That fit into our day.

Next, I made my FP+ for Friday and then for Saturday.
I actually made my FP+ for Monday last. It is my AK day and I really am not on pins/needles about those FP+ at all.
I'm actually considering scrapping those plans entirely in favor of another MK day.
I kinda wish that DD was 'in the know' on this vacation so that I could ask her opinion - is she super excited to see Animal Kingdom or would she want to see more Magic Kingdom. Of note - we aren't getting Park Hoppers.

I'm going January 6-14 with my best friend and we're staying at Pop Century. This is our first trip by ourselves, without our families or school. We are both college students and weren't sure we were going to book, but then the PSD package came out and we decided to treat ourselves.:cool1: When we went in 2013 I did the 5k, but it was sold out by the time we booked.:confused3

After several false starts & dashed plans we're finally officially planning a 2nd trip to Disney!! On Tuesday we put down a deposit for a trip from 1/17-1/23 at POFQ. I'm excited but also overwhelmed at the thought of planning a trip in just 56 days. So much to read & decide while keeping it all a secret from our boys until Christmas! :santa:

I know the EasyWDW vs. Touring Plans has been discussed repeatedly on the boards but I'm feeling a time crunch for planning park days & picking FPP+. Their predictions vary drastically for my park days of 1/18-1/22. Anyone going that same time with thoughts about which park recommendations to follow? Thanks!

Has anyone been able to book FP for FoF or MSEP in late January? Those were my absolute top priorities and they weren't available for any day on my trip. Surely they aren't all gone? There was plenty of A&E, 7DMT, Wishes.....

Just hit our 60 day mark and booked our FP+ for all 7 days of our trip. The system was intuitive, in and out and all booked in under 15 minutes. And Anna and Elsa was available for our party of 4 for all 3 of our MK days! :cool1:

I hope the rest of the trip and FP+ experience goes just as smoothly! :wizard:

We hit our 60 day mark and I just got done making our FP+ selections too. I found the same as the PP....system was running very smoothly and there were lots of times for 7DMT and A&E (my girls didn't really care to see them this trip since we saw them in May) for the days that we are going to MK. I am very excited about our selections, I too hope the trip goes just as smoothly as it did today. I was planning on making selections last night at 11pm (we live in the Central Time Zone) which would be midnight Eastern Time, but I was really tired and went to bed. I am so glad that we are going during a non peak time because I was worried for nothing :goodvibes.

I usually review both but typically go with EasyWDW over Touring Plans. They seem to be the most accurate from personal experience and what I read from others on the boards. I like that EasyWDW provides explanations for why he recommends what days.

has anyone been able to get MSEP or FoF FP+ for late Jan? Seems they're not available (or, less likely, sold out?). anyone see anything about the reservations coming online at 30 instead of 60 days?

From what I can tell, they stopped having availability around mid-January. I have not heard of anyone being able to get one the second half of the month.
