Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

It was listed on another thread but it was listed under another series. Now that I look at it - I think it is a list of remaining episodes and it just happens to be listed as "Heroes and Villains"

Chuck, on the other hand, isn't so safe.

I hope you're wrong about that one, bicker. Chuck is such a great show. But we all know of many great shows that never got th audience they deserved.

In any other year, Chuck would be okay. However, with the recent deal NBC made to give over 10PM to Jay Leno five days a week, NBC is going to need to ditch three hours of existing programming that they would not normally have ditched. Chuck is the the "show on the bubble".

Oh! I forgot they are moving House to Monday. That is a dilemma. The last time I had that was when Without A Trace went up against two other shows last year (well, technically two, but Desperate Housewives ran into the 10:00pm time slot) so I taped it. Somehow, I never got around to watching those episodes.

Here we are at the last night, the last episodes of "Heroes & Villians" until February starts with "Fugitives".

Wonder what twists they will give us now? Think Nathan will "live" through this cliff hanger? Poor man has been thought of as "dead" at the end of the last 2 seasons!

Just wanted to join. I'm just finding these TV show threads. I'm a little slow.

We actually started to like the "new" Sylar who was good. We did not like him last week when he went Postal again. But once in a while, you get a glimpse in his eye that always looks like he has a plan. I think somewhere deep down he wants to be good.

Sorry if I rehash anything that's been said. I'm not going to read every post. DH and I watch the show weekly (even before Gossip Girl). I'm up on it. A lot of episodes bore me--Hiro in prehistoric China, anyone? But it does move faster than last season. We decided to give it another try after the strike. We're glad we did. But I don't know how many more seasons it could hang on. It needs an end-date like Lost. That helped the show focus better. Heroes could use the same.

I'm glad that Peter has his powers again. Imagine! One vial of the formula remained after their trashing of the lab. Go figure! Oh, and the vat of red goop spilling out and curing Mohinder... go figure.

These characters are all so flippin stupid. Each and every one of them. They try to be smart, but seemingly always fail at it. I think that may be some of the appeal to the show. They are humans with abilities, but can't one of them be smart about how they use them? Maybe Peter is that smarter one?

Do you think that the cockroach, Sylar will have another chance at life or was the glass in his head his undoing? It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I wish they didn't kill off George Takei. I really like his character. His swording abilities are wonderful, especially because he's not 20 years old.

I loved older Hiro and younger Hiro together. Ando's power can be interesting as time goes on. We'll see who tries to manipulate him for his powers, I'm sure.

Oh, LoveKermit, Hiro is Japanese. He went back to Ancient Japan, to the time of the Samorai... not China. I don't think they specified where he was during his travels into the dinosaur period.

I was confused by one thing last night. Is the Africa Isaac alive or dead? We see Matt looking at him at one point, but was he hallucinating? Was the scene where Hiro and Ando found his headless body an illusion created by Arthur Petrelli?

I think it was just a "vision"- like African Precog Guy was there, happy that Matt fulfilled his spirit walk- that type of thing.

My question is- Ando got a power (a pretty cool one, too- he's like the opposite of the Hatian)- but Hiro lost his, right? He didn't get his power back and I missed it? Seems like their friendship will change now...

Today I was listening to a podcast of a local, morning radio show. And they were interviewing Scott Weiland...former front man of Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver and currently going solo. He said he auditioned and was offered the role of Sylar. As much as I enjoy Zachary Quinto's portrayal of Sylar. I would have loved to see Scott Weiland in that role. Ultimately, he didn't take it because of his touring schedule and if the show became a hit there would be major conflicts. Years ago, DH and I saw Stone Temple Pilots in concert and at that time DH said he could see Scott Weiland playing Gollum in the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit. And when he said that, it was years before that trilogy came out. He just has a reptilian quality about him in the way he moves his body.

Anyway, I just thought that was a nice little bit of Heroes trivia.

I know who Sylar's parents are: Carrie and Jason.
Carrie's telepathic abilities mixed with Jason's lust for killing (or Freddie or Mike Myers).

Things I didn't like about the episode? How "neatly" some of the storylines were resolved.
- Ando (who is new to his powers) and Speedster were able to travel back to the right place at the right time to rescue Hiro.
- Mohinder ingesting the formula by accident
- The death of the Marine - I was expecting a long fight btw him and someone. Was he or Nathan that scared that Fearman was able to kill him?

Things I love - Sylar! Every scene with him was gold!
- The horror house background of twitching limbs and darkened rooms.
- His repeated attempts to get Claire to make a conscious choice to kill
- Shooting up Claire's Biomom w/Adrenaline
- The showdown btw him and PuppetMaster (brief, but awesome!)
- The scene w/him and Angela was heartbreaking. He was hoping so badly to find something good in their relationship.
- That despite his evil ways, he still saved the world by killing Arthur (I love the previous episode where he stopped Peter's bullet and killed Arthur himself. I was cheering so loudly.)

Also, loved that Michael Dorn is the Pres. (another Star Trek star - Thank you)

Overall I think the writers did a really good job in blurring the lines between good and evil. Angela and Arthur have their evil ways, but both stress trying to save the world, fighting for the greater good. They just run over anyone trying to get in their way of what they think is right. The same with Noah. Peter aligning himself w/bad guys to destroy the formula (different reasons, same goal)

Questions for future episodes:
1) Is Sylar alive? He was killed in Seas. 1, but showed up powerless in Seas. 2
2) Is Biomom alive?
3) Will Barbara show up? (Tracy and Niki's other sister)
4) How will Ando and Hiro's relationship change? Hiro's powers are gone, but Nathan give Pres. Worf his pic. Ando has powers now, but Nathan doesn't know it.
5) Does Peter have his original powers (The collecting of powers) or new ones? He can fly so I am guessing he drew off of Nathan and will have to start over.

Anyway, countdown to Feb.

Wow, I never thought of that....I wondered whatever happened to that part of the storyline.

I am a fan of Scott Weiland, but I really think the Sylar chosen was the best pick!

Can anyone tell me when the new season of Heroes starts? I just got caught up on all the episodes of season 3. (Thank you Netflix!) I saw a commercial last week, but I don't remember the date.
