Official "Heroes" discussion thread - Caution: Speculation and Potential Spoilers

Didn't dig the "OMG, I love you, Matt!" moment from Daphne. They've known each other for what, two weeks?...

Didn't dig the "I hate you! Now I'm flirting with you!" moment from Elle. I'm glad Sylar/Gabrielle was able to help with her catharsis, but the tennis-instructor approach wasn't working for me...

Hiro as a ten-year-old is remarkably like Hiro of the past few episodes. I used to love Hiro; what happened??...

Monday's episode was the best this season. It was fantastic!

I LOVE Elle and Sylar!!! We've seen them in the past, I have a feeling we've seen them in the future (I would assume that she's the mother of the child he had several episodes back.) Now I'm excited for present-day Elle and Sylar.

I wonder if Flint knows that he's Claire's uncle and if that will play into the storyline, since they were trying to capture her... obviously Arthur must know that she's the catalyst.

Yay... I can't wait for next Monday!!

The season is picking up, IMO.

I really like Flint's character. I hope he stays around for a while.

I don't like Hiro as a 10 yo. WTH is THAT about?

I wonder if Arthur realizes or cares that Clare is his grand daughter?

Any ideas on 9th wonders and who may be doing it?

Saw Heroes on Tuesday night on G4. Not gonna try the Fringe then Heroes back to back to often. Got riled up and then hard to sleep! Pretty good I thought, esp. in answering some questions while making even more.

Still wondering on who is doing 9th Wonders. Finally figured Hiro doesn't speak English yet! Wonder if he was 10 when Claire was given to HRG? If so, he is around 28... but some sites say younger. :confused3

Kinda figured what Daphne's problem was/is. Oh, and notice... Peter does have a brain while Nathan is going off half crock. Interesting!

3 shows and counting until the break!

All I can say is that had to have been the longest solar eclipse EVER
Plus, it's happening all over the place. Don't they usually occur in one place as a full-fledged eclipse, let's say in LA, for all intents and purposes. In NYC, they'd see a partial eclipse because of the distance between the two places. I kept saying to myself, "just deal with it and believe."

Yeah, that is what happens. But they explained how they did it, either Beemon's blog or Behind the Eclipse. If ya need the links, let me know.

So, the major question, did Elle die? And Claire's reaction on the rooftop... not sure I know why she was so ...over the top with it?

And anyone else wondering if HRG told Sylar the truth? Hmmm....popcorn::

My Mom always warned me about guys like Sylar... they get you into their good graces, get what they want and then cast you aside. (Though most don't cut the top of your head with their laser finger. ) It'll be interesting to see if he did kill her. My guess is that he didn't.

I liked Seth Green in this. I usually don't like him. I thought the whole comic book scene was well done. Though, I was waiting for Kevin Smith to show up since he was also supposed to be affiliated with this show last year. He's such a comics person, he'd have fit in. Plus, doesn't he own a comics store in NJ?

How would the dr/nurse lady know by looking at Claire coming in from the ambulance that she was acting as if she had never been sick before? I thought that was weird.

Does Peter have his powers back since the eclipse ended? I wasn't sure when Nathan left him in the middle of the jungle. I understand what Nathan is up to now, but is Peter stranded?

Daphne is so flighty. I guess that would happen if you couldn't move, then you were the fastest person on earth and then you were in braces again. I was glad that Matt found her in the corn fields and brought her back to her father.

They have been so inconsistent with the whole Elle-Sylar thing. First they hate each other. Then they're flirty flirty. Then, randomly for no reason, Elle gets him to kill that car rental guy. Uh...what? Then she says she's sorry she made him into a monster (which time, Elle? The first time or just now?). Then they lose their powers, act like they're in a relationship, get their powers back, and Sylar RANDOMLY acts like something has happened to show him that he's really a bad guy. Except...nothing really happened. Yes, HRG killed him, but HRG is *always* trying to kill him. Argh!!

I don't get the point of taking Claire to the roof, though it was pretty cool to see Hiro deal with Elle and Sylar so quickly...I couldn't tell if Peter has his powers back. It didn't look like it... Why, for the love of all things holy, does Mohinder keep going back to doing the mad scientist thing? Papa Patrelli tried to kill him/main him the last time, but all Mohinder says is, "Where else would I go?" He seems brilliant. ;-)...Nathan's speech was weird and didn't seem to fit. Felt like the writers were trying to shoehorn in the fact that Nathan is on Papa's side in the future. Weird.

Btw, what was the point of the eclipse really? They all lost their powers, but then they came back. Big deal...

It made everyone vulnerable and maybe they should have played that up a little more (like killing someone good or bad (or both)). I think Claire and Sylar weren't "dead" enough when the end of the eclipse came. That's why they came back.

I will say that the storyline is getting a little fragmented but I still like it.

Can someone please tell me what happened in the last few minutes of the show. My DVR stopped just at the point that Hiro and Claire got to the rooftop. I wish NBC would properly time these shows that go past an hour. My DVR schedule had it ending at 9:01 and that clearly was not enough time.

Now that you mention it, mine did, too.

I record the next show after Heroes so I'll have to check it again. I think all they showed was HRG guy holding the baby and being told not to get too attached to her. HRG said something about he wouldn't make a good father.

I do remember that Claire said some bad words. :)

Mine did the same thing. I went onto nbc.com and watched the last few seconds that way you can see it for yourself! :)

A spoiler: Kristin says that a blonde in a newish relationship isn't going to make it.

How would the dr/nurse lady know by looking at Claire coming in from the ambulance that she was acting as if she had never been sick before? I thought that was weird. I wondered if it was what the paramedics told her. Also she may be able to tell by looking at the wound, timewise, I mean.

Does Peter have his powers back since the eclipse ended? No. Nathan siad he would send him stuff to the embassy so he could get home. No power for Peter yet. wasn't sure when Nathan left him in the middle of the jungle. I understand what Nathan is up to now, but is Peter stranded? Yes, he is. But he and the Haitian will get back to confront Arthur. Do you think they will end Arthur in 2 shows?

Yeah, I think she is just kinda young and after being "trapped" so long and not being like her mom (read her graphic novel, it explains the medal" like expected, it "bent" her a bit. Though, since my son is like that wiht his brittle bone condition, I can see why she is that way.

Except...nothing really happened. Yes, HRG killed him, but HRG is *always* trying to kill him. Argh!! Well, they were flirty, flirty first when he just got powers & the company was watching him. Elle, at HRG's command, was the one that brought Treavor to Gabe so that they could "observe how his power worked". It freaked Elle out what she had done. I think she liked him then, in her own warped way. The "random thing" was having HRG tell him that the Peterilli's really weren't his parents, they were using him.
I don't get the point of taking Claire to the roof, though it was pretty cool to see Hiro deal with Elle and Sylar so quickly... To show her how her "dad" was toward her in the beginning, when he first got her. And to help her see how he had beenprotecting her from the company. I
couldn't tell if Peter has his powers back. It didn't look like it...

Why, for the love of all things holy, does Mohinder keep going back to doing the mad scientist thing? Papa Patrelli tried to kill him/main him the last time, but all Mohinder says is, "Where else would I go?" He seems brilliant. ;-) And with Mo, if you looked like that and knew that all the tools you needed were at Pinehurst, wouldn't you go back? No other way he could afford all that stuff. ...Nathan's speech was weird and didn't seem to fit. Felt like the writers were trying to shoehorn in the fact that Nathan is on Papa's side in the future. Weird.

Btw, what was the point of the eclipse really? They all lost their powers, but then they came back. Big deal...
more later!

So many inconsistencies this show. Let's put the eclipse aside and look at some other things.

1) The Haitian acts like a dampening field so whoever he is around can't use his/her power. So how was Nathan able to fly Baron S into a car and how was Baron S able to heal?

2) When Ando was translating between Hiro and Seth Green, why was his English in an America accent?

3) What took Noah so long to shoot Gabriel and Elle? He had the gun trained on them during the kiss. Why wait until after the lovin'?

Some questions for the next ep:
1) Does Peter have his ability back? Since his dad took his power is he still completely without powers, or did the eclipse make him able to start collecting abilities again?

2) Is Sylar killing Elle or giving her a warning by cutting her a little? Is she the mother of his future child or has that future already been changed?

What I don't like:
1) The re-emergence of 9th Wonders - That was done Season 1
2) Matt and Dapne - No chemistry

What I love:
1)Zachary Quinto as Sylar/Gabriel - When he is evil, he is terrifying. When he is struggling to be good, you cheer him on. The last scene between him and Elle was fantastic. I loved how Sylar lowered Elle to the sand, interlaced his fingers with hers, and slowly kissed her. She was completely seduced. (I know I was.) Then BAM! The return of a bad guy.

I don't think it was ever explicitly said who the mother of the future kid is. His name was Noah though, right? Has that timeline already been changed? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't name my kid after someone who slit my throat. *winks* I agree that the beach scene with Sylar/Elle was well done (and by that, of course, I mean hot, lol).

And while I understand the psychological implications of Claire seeing that her father really does love her, what greater point does it serve? Hiro is there to get his memory back; how does getting Claire to go warm and fuzzy on her dad being warm and fuzzy to her as an infant help him recover it?

I had the same question about Nathan and the Hatian. I read somewhere that the Hatian can turn his power on and off, too, so I guess maybe he had it off at that time. The larger question is, why was he acting like it was so hard to attack his brother? The brother's power was being impenetrable. Wouldn't being around the Hatian make him...penetrable? Then the Hatian could've shown the villagers that his brother really wasn't a god, and happily returned him to level 5...

So many questions, so looking forward to the answers!
