Official Glass Slipper Challenge Thread

My only issue with it was rD lying about it. If they wanted to honor the active mistake- that's fine. It's their race, their rules, all good.

But they sent out emails Monday morning to many people saying they were NOT honoring it, and then went back and told the folks that called about their entries it would be ok.

I was told by an early entrant that they were told 1) not to do it again and 2) keep it quiet, they didn't want it publicized. This was a planned response- tell the public one thing, but do another. I hate that.

For me, the disappointment is that they didn't just own up to the decision to honor the registrations in the first place. Totally acceptable to say "There was a mistake made, we feel it best business practice to honor those registrations, thank you for understanding. blah blah blah"

Well said, Patty. I was one of the folks that received that email on Monday.

It is the same for Visa. They are KILLING ME!!!
ME TOO!!!! I just keep checking sites. The only one with any mention is the AP site and of course that's the one with no discount, :rotfl2:

Hi everyone! I'm relatively new here and wanted to pop in and say hi! I'm not sure yet whether I'll be running the GSC yet but I've planted the seed with my fiancé and I'm hoping so hard that we can swing it!

We've got our first half marathon coming up in October (and actually maybe one in September), but I've wanted to run the Princess half ever since I went to Disney unknowingly during the Princess half weekend in 2011 and saw all the ladies walking around with their beautiful medals!

Welcome! If you're thinking about the GSC I strongly recommend you register as early as possible. RD events have become very popular and sell out fast. The medals are gorgeous and addicting!

Does ur AP site even show anything on PHM at all? Mine only shows a button for WDW in jan to register. and states PHM date coming soon

Thanks swim fly.

I was able to fill out a survey. I cannot believe that as OCD as Disney is, things aren't online before an event etc.

Disney yes! runDisney is a whole different... well deal. Let me know if it doesn't refresh for you.

Once the early registration opens for APs do you have to enter any sort of pass info or is it just click on the link from the passholder landing and then register as normal? Want to make sure I'm ready!

There is typically a discount code given on the AP site to input during checkout

Just wanted to say I'm super jealous of those that get to register today!!!

But, I'm excited for you too! :thumbsup2

If it was up to me, I'd be staking out all day on the 11th, but we are actually getting married next summer and honeymooning in Disney so I'm not entirely sure if we can swing an extra weekend trip for this too. We talked about it a little bit yesterday and I told him to think about it and to surprise me if he decides we can do it, so fingers crossed! I'm dying for one (or 3!) of those gorgeous medals to hang on my wall! :)

I agree, well said! My main concern is that I'm sure the GSC is going to sell out quickly -- didn't the first Dumbo Double Dare sell out within several hours of general registration opening? If my BFF or I miss out on our chance to run this challenge because some people snuck in under the velvet rope, I'm going to be disappointed. Most definitely, I would put the blame squarely on RunDisney for not keeping to their own rules and thus not ensuring an even playing field for everyone.

Not several hours...just over ONE hour...

Also, with DDD, about half the slots were sold during the Marathon Weekend, so they were extremely limited already.

I'm on the phone trying to link my AP to the site. They are helpful but no success yet. Frustrating

I'm supposed to be driving now but at least my DH fell asleep while waiting on me.

DH and I are IN the Glass Slipper Challenge!!!! I'll officially be there with the rest of you!! Pixie dust for everyone trying to register successfully today!
