My only issue with it was rD lying about it. If they wanted to honor the active mistake- that's fine. It's their race, their rules, all good.
But they sent out emails Monday morning to many people saying they were NOT honoring it, and then went back and told the folks that called about their entries it would be ok.
I was told by an early entrant that they were told 1) not to do it again and 2) keep it quiet, they didn't want it publicized. This was a planned response- tell the public one thing, but do another. I hate that.
For me, the disappointment is that they didn't just own up to the decision to honor the registrations in the first place. Totally acceptable to say "There was a mistake made, we feel it best business practice to honor those registrations, thank you for understanding. blah blah blah"
