Official Frozen at WDW Thread (Updated May 20th) FEA and RS Open June 21

Amazon manages. Ticketmaster manages.

Agreed. I am not arguing that it can't be done. Just that it costs a lot of money. FP+ is not directly revenue generating and thus it likely doesn't get the budget.

Disney also doesn't have the volume of spikes that Amazon or ticketmaster has. Budgeting for 10000 concurrent users (to cover this type of spike) when you normally only have 1000 concurrent users is wasteful from a business perspective. At the end of the day the majority of the fast passes will be gone and attendance at the park will not suffer (statistically) and revenue will be the same as if they spent 10x more in the FP+ system.

In business, it is not whether you have the money... It's whether spending the money will make you more money.

:)

But it's far from just the FP system. It's the entire website

got 09:25 for 06/23
strange, I checked every day for the next 60 days and 11:05 was the first FP on every single day. It wasn't even gone on any day. At least 30 min ago it wasn't

ETA - I must have skipped the June dates.
It's in July that the earliest I find starts at 11:00. Up till June 27 I see them at 9:XX
Odd. It's like they didn't load them prior to 11:00 starting in June 28
Can anyone find before 11:00 in July?

Unfortunately that's probably how they view it. They seem to forget one tiny detail..... that people pay upwards of $100/day for admission that is now inextricably tied to those IT systems.

What I don't understand is that I know their IT sucks. You know it sucks. We all know it sucks. Yet they choose to roll out a bunch of new stuff all at once this morning. If they choose to not invest what's fair to their customers and make the system work better, why don't they roll this stuff out on different days to minimize the degree of those spikes?

Everyone says it's because attendance doesn't suffer. Well, according to recent reports, attendance is not growing at WDW, it's dipping. Maybe it's time for them to reconsider their systems and customer service related issues.

I suspect IT had absolutely NO say so in the scheduling of these announcements. That is Operations and Marketing. In fact, it wouldn't surprise if they found out the same time we did :)

It would be awesome if business were that well organized but I've yet to work for one that is.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying Disney shouldn't do better, just realities of business say they probably won't. I didn't enjoy fighting the system this morning either.

Got one for opening day! There were several times left. Now let's just hope this really opens on time!

It opens at 9:00
Yeah, sorry, I should go back and edit.
I figure it out. The FP for prior to 11:00 were only loaded till 6/27. 6/28 and on was only showing 11:00 and later.
Maybe they've put more out by now. I quit screwing with it about 20 min ago

They confirmed on the blog there will not be any FP for the meet and greet
I sure hope that the building that they constructed can swallow a three hour line. When the M&G started in Norway and didn't have a FP option, there was a ridiculous running of the bulls followed by a line that ruined the visual of Norway. I imagine that now the strategy will be to get a 10:00 FP and RUN to the M&G with the expectation that you will be able to get through that line and finish the experience in time for the FP to kick in. I would caution anyone who wants to do both the ride and the M&G not to get too early of a FP time. By the time you finish the ride first, the other line might be well over an hour. You will want to do the M&G first and you won't want your FP to expire while you are in that line.

I don't blame you for quitting!

Could it be that the 9:00 start time is a limited time engagement?

To the general public, it doesn't matter if it's operations' or marketing's fault. It's all Disney.
