Official "Friends of the Fort" Weight Loss Group!

Good evening all! You guys crack me up with the running. I too am not a runner, and VACAMPER, I require depends as well. I didn't think you HAD to run the 5k. I was assuming I could walk it. If I were to run it I would be looking for the nearest bush to duck behind and a way to just "show up" at the finish line!:rolleyes1

I have to say you guys are a hoot! I am sitting here laughing as I catch up on this thread. I have to try to figure out when I can get some exercise in. I think maybe I will ride my bike, that way I can get DH (I hope) to go with me.

There is another exercise that will burn 150-300 calories an hour. It is something your parents all did it at one point ;)

I don't work and i still find it difficult to fit in exercise. If i try and get up early (5:00am) the treadmill wakes the kids up, I babysit so i'm afraid to leave the kids on loose during the day(i can't see them), in the evening i'm always running my older kids to ball games, come home do homework, fix dinner, wash dishes etc and its time for bed. I do sometimes fit it in when the little ones are napping during the day.

Welcome!! You're right about the HFCS - very bad for you!!

I'll bet, after being gluten-free for 6 months, you're going to feel great! You'll be eating more natural things (veggies, meats, eggs, fruits) and cutting all those nasty bad carbs from your diet - that your body doesn't need anyway! Who invented white flour anyway? :confused3

Stick around, and keep us informed of your progress with it!
Rhonda, you just described my diet. I had gastric bypass 5 months ago and stick mainly to high protein, natural items - chicken, fresh veggies, eggs and fresh fruit. Besides the 110 pounds I've lost, I feel so much better with none of that crap in my diet. No bread, pasta, rice or sugar! Its really great. And after awhile you stop craving it.

Oh yeah, and I add extra fiber everyday! Didn't know they cancelled out carbs. Now I don't feel so bad for eating that dang banana!!

:lmao: You should really work on that! Your poor wife (or lucky depends on how you look at it):lmao: :rotfl:

:lmao: I was on FitDay and they have that as an "activity" to include in your daily workup. For moderate activity you only burned something like 10 calories. I figure I can do that walking down my driveway, and it's a lot less work! :lmao:

Ok, I just checked it out

For moderate effort for 1/2 hour it is 11 calories
For vigorous effort for 1/2 hour it is 19 calories

I'll take a walk!

So 4 extra calories for showing off...........hmmmm. Does pretending shes someone else get bonus calories????

Im just kidding people.....I LOVE my ol'lady and KNOW how lucky I am to have her...just because she accidentally calls me Mr Pitt occassionally doesnt offend me at all!!!

Rog, I don't think you'll be burning many calories at all.:lmao:

Wow...that's a lot different than the article I just read. Now I am wondering how you would burn 150 or more calories an hour. Hmmmmm

This is why Ive always been a fan of low carb diets vs low cal!!!!

Probably just for females. When they do the work. Or for men when they have to chase and harass their wives to give in. That could take longer than an hour though.

Where did you see this article?...Hmmm...Was it your HUSBAND who told you about it?.
