*Official* DWTS 2012 Thread

Did you take one of ol' cranky pants pills this morning?!?!?! ;)

Speaking of lifts....both Nancy and Rikki did a lift in the group number. IMHO, Nancy's was much smoother than Rikki's. It was almost like Derek was using the group dance to test out her ability to do lifts, instead of finding out in an individual dance that she's really gonna have to work on those. She seemed to get stuck for a minute half way thru the lift.

I must've taken one of those pills, lol...yeah, I agree on Nancy being better on the lift, just wish she would crack the ice mold.

I just voted online. I gave JR a vote because I would hate to see him go home because fans are trying to save other people. I voted for David once because I liked him last night. I gave Hope the remaining 5. Maybe a landslide of votes for Hope will speak to the judges.

I won't be surprised if Chaz or David go tonight. All the buzz is on Hope and Maks, so I imagime they were pulling in votes, or even Nancy...while she has a fan base and she did do the crazy *lift* in the group dance, she just looks ticked off all the time.

I hope it's Chaz or Rob. I keep on thinking that Rob's dancing is nice while I watch him but he is so dull that I instantly forget him. At least Chaz is entertaining.

I think that the pros start to start to light a fire under the stars once they start to have to do two dances. We saw it in almost all the pros and we saw the stars chafe under the added strain. Nancy did not look happy, but she got what she asked for :lmao:. I think someone said earlier that Tristen is a great partner for her because he stands up to her and makes her respect him. She's used to being in charge and I think that contributes to the strain in their relationship.

I agree that Nancy's lift was better. Ricki said that Derek has a shoulder injury which would explain why it didn't look great. Of course, she blames herself for being "fat".

It will be interesting, the voting outcome. I mean, Hope and Maks are the, hmmmm, not really Villan role this season but you know what I mean...Erica Kane role~if they are gone, the show kinda loses a key element. I think I am the only one who is less than impressed with Rob. I guess he is improving, but enough with the "becoming a man" garbage. I thought it was goofy that his mom was the helper at practice, that just cried out Momma's boy to me. He needs to find something other than "I graduated college" to be his talent. All tho, maybe he is the only Kardashian to do so?:confused3 maybe it is a dig to the sisters, lol. Anyway...I forget about him each week so he is not impressing me much...I actually think he is more clod-hoppy than Hope. Kinda like Bristol before, lacking any personality or go-getter energy. Chaz, speaking of personality....is showing his frustration bug time now. I like him a lot, but not as a dancer. At least they have learned to put him in dark colors now. I won't be surprised if Chaz or David go tonight. All the buzz is on Hope and Maks, so I imagime they were pulling in votes, or even Nancy...while she has a fan base and she did do the crazy *lift* in the group dance, she just looks ticked off all the time. Ah well...I am sounding like Len..guess the coffee hasdn't kicked in yet!:surfweb:

I agree with all you said!

I think Len and Bruno arguing is just for spice. It's like they are copying Paula and Simon from American Idol.

Chaz is even starting to annoy Lacey, I could see her frustration with him all night last night. Rob continues to be a forgettable momma's boy.

I gave half my votes to JR, then one each for David, Nancy and Ricki (more for Derek than Ricki).

I love Kristen Chenowith, loved her last night :yay::yay:

Does anyone else think Kelly Clarkson would like to dance on the show; I would love to see that!

Len is such a crab. Sigh.

I don't think Len is a crab at all. Of the three judges on Dancing with the Stars, Len is the only true ballroom judge and a very respected one. To achieve that level there is training and testing. Neither Carrie Ann or Bruno have that distinction, but they are trained professional dancers and their backgrounds deal more with performing dance. I often think the differences of opinion with the judges comes from their training backgrounds, but that keeps the show interesting.

I am so tired of Chaz---he does not dance at the level anyone else is. It is time for him to go. I am actually surprised at how well Rob and David have improved. Nancy is doing better----tired of Hope and her and Maks attitude. Ricki is a good dancer---but IMHO JR is the one who deserves to win this. Each week he is consistent and comes of and does a harder, better dance than the week before. I was honestly expecting 3 10's after Len saying he did better than Helio....but 29 was great.

Since I love Tristan I watch all the little behind the scenes videos he and Nancy post online or do on her show. I think that most of the time she is just giving him a hard time, and for some reason those are the only clips they really show in their pre-dance package on show night.

They really do joke around a lot and get each other well. Tristan is so easy going and doesn't let Nancy bother him. Could you imagine if she were paired with Maks?

Anyway, I'm in love. LOL

Isn't Len one of the show creators? They won't get rid of him ... he adds drama to the show.

It doesn't say anything about that on the IMdB.com website. He's not even listed as a producer.

Rob is like wallpaper to me. I love Cheryl, but she has been kind of more subdued this season.

I guess Rob had it tough. His dad was a famous defense attorney, then his step dad won the Olympics. And his sisters and mom are famous for selling fluffy handbags & jewelry, or whatever. usually, not everyone shines in a family. If it wasn't for the reality show, he'd just be in the background like most family members to famous people.

::yes:: Derek has a shoulder injury. Which is why he had to lift Rikki upside down, so her full weight wouldn't be on his shoulder.

 Yes, I have to see her in something on Broadway.

They argue so much because she's a prosecutor. It's just ingrained in her. Apparently, she had a perfect record of nearly 100 convictions as Special Procecutor in Atlanta.

She would never get along with Maks. :headache: They are both Alphas.

That would explain the herky-jerkyness of the lift. That may not bode well for them in the free style. Derek love to do lifts and if he can't, there goes some of his wow factor.

I'm way late to the thread. I've caught an episode or two, but haven't been watching very often this season. I did catch the show last night though, my thoughts:

Rob & Cheryl - I agree with Bruno, where's the charisma? But a decent-ish dance.

Nancy & Tristan - My take may be clouded by the fact that I love Spam-A-Lot, but I liked it, her shimmy and heel click were definitely lacking though.

David & Kym - Another OK dance. Is he always that wired in interviews though? Yikes!

Rikki & Derek - I admit it, while I find Derek a bit cocky and annoying, I am blown away by his skill as a choreographer, and I have a hard time looking past that. I loved the choreography and thought Rikki pulled it off well.

Chaz & Lacey - I'm a Phantom fan too, but are you kidding me? Why is he still in the competition?

Hope & Maks - She doesn't do sexy well does she? She looked quite awkward to me. Yes, the critique was harsh, but IMO Maks's reaction was out of line and his comment that "This is my show, I helped make it what it is" ....All I can say is Wow!

JR & Karina - I wonder if they heard any of Mak's tantrum before they took the dance floor? That could have been a bit unsettling. I thought it was a really good dance.

A few negatives that jumped out at me in the group dance solos:

Chaz = you stand here, I'll dance
Rikki's lift = really strained
Hope's partner cartwheel = posture

Overall I thought it was a fun number though.

That Kristin Chenoweth is really talented!

Hope & Maks - she's stiff and too athletic and not graceful enough and he's cocky

JR & Karina - one of the best

Derek & Rikki - the other of the best. She is not peitite...mind you, she looks great and has lost some weight but she's still a good sized girl and even with that, she moves! Rikki's lift was strained...she's a big girl and he's not a huge guy and a smallish guy lifting a bigger girl can't be easy, especially with him with a bad shoulder

Rob & Cheryl - I think he's getting better each week

Chaz & Lacey - we are probably 1/2way or more than 1/2way through the show. At this point, he should be doing more than standing there doing "jazz hands" or bouncing around the stage while Lacey writhes and swings and tries to carry the dance routine. I admire his tenacity, I admire his gracious responses when he is interviewed after his routines, I admire his courage for putting himself out there, but even he has to know that he is out of his league at this point

Tristan and Nancy - I like them. I think their routines are well thought out and they seem to keep to the most "classic" way of ballroom dancing...they seem to get all the elements in

Kym & David - he's too whacked for me...too much loose energy, and I hate his post-dance interview because I can never follow the point of what he's saying

The group number was fun.

I agree, :thumbsup2
I used all my votes for Nancy and Tristan :dance3:
I think both CHaz and Hope should go, NOW, like yesterday...
She is the most UNfeminine female dancer, ever :scared1:
CHaz is just plain awful and throwing his arms up in the air after every single dance...been there done that, its a DANCE show please DUMP him now.:rolleyes1
Jr is amazing, :lovestrucRicky is very good :cutie: , David is too wired :3dglasses for me, tho I enjoy watching Him knowing HE is having such a good time
Rob is better than when he started but they have NO chemistry, zippo and it just does not work for me..

so my picks to go are chaz and hope, itll be Hope and next will be chaz...:teacher:

I'm also ticked that Hope and Chaz are still on and Carson is gone because frankly, I don't think either one of them are better dancers than he was and he was a heckuva lot more entertaining than either Hope or Chaz.

I hope Chaz is the one to go home tonight. I think Bruno was rude to him but he just can't dance. Hope has her problems but she is much easier to watch than Chaz.

I do think the judges were really nit picking Hope's dance, both my DH and I liked her dance. It seems to me that they are judging Hope by the videos they show of them rehearsing and we all know how those can be edited. I also agree that they don't use the same criteria for all the dancers.

Rob's dance last week was IMHO terrible and yet Carrie Ann raved about it and gave him a nine. :confused3 Just don't think he has improved, he does not have any musicality, he should have been gone several weeks ago.

I just didn't care for Rikki's dance last night, I know she did it well, I just didn't like it.

I think they should not vote anyone off for the first three weeks. It is amazing how some do improve, one week just isn't enough. The third week they could send two home, maybe that way people would start voting for the best dancers instead of their favorite personality.

I thought JR should have gotten a perfect score last night. They were great and I love Rikki and Derek  but I think JR was better.

HOPE has got to go, it has nothing to do with Maks, he has always been that way and Hope should have gone a few weeks ago. She is a very prety girl but she can't dance. She pouts alot and wants everyone to feel sorry for her. Maks is NO WAY an easy teacher as we have seen but he knows what he is doing and is extremely talented.

Len was grumpy last night, BUT he knows his stuff. I think Maks is done and doesn't want to dance with her anymore.

We'll see what happens tonight!

Does Corbin Bleu have a lisp? His voice sounds a bit off.

Bruno's remark on calling Chaz a cute penguin trying to be a big bird was really insulting.

I certainly don't think Chaz should continue in the competition, but he has a point. Bruno comments have been really patronizing.
