Sounds great - can't wait to see the picture!!! There's also an official cake thread on here someplace - I'm sure they'd love to hear your story & see the pic too!

Confused, isn't this the official cake thread, or is this cake chatter thread different from another cake thread, or is the Cake Chatter Thread Part I the other thread that has been mentioned recently ?
Just want to make I'm not missing some tasty looking cake with fabulous decorations!

Celebrating DH and DD birthdays in May and would like to order a cake for our first night's dinner at Boatwrights. Are they able to deliver a cake to this restaurant and which number would I call? Don't need anything fancy or big but would possibly like a picture of either Ariel/Triton or Jessie/Woody since it is a daughter/father cake. Thanks for the help.

Can I prepay the cake? If it's on our bill my husband will want to pay for it and I don't want him to pay for it, lol.

Usually you don't pay until you get the cake, and it comes on a separate receipt. But you could talk to Pat and see if she'll let you pay ahead of time.

No, what happens is they merge other cake-related threads into this one, so it gets confusing because somebody in the other thread usually mentions looking at this thread but now that thread is IN this thread! :rotfl:

Call the Cake Hotline listed in the first post of this thread to find out what your options are at Boatwrights.

Alright! I don't even want to comment on all the cake threads that seem to be repetitive x_x; But let me get this straight:

Are the Mini castle 1-2 serving cake only at the GF? The $35 dollar ones?
Can these cakes be with wedding cake flavors like lemon, almond and the different fillings or just come in yellow, chocolate with butter cream and the white chocolate castle on top?
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=35240776&postcount=168

How about special occasion cakes at a sit down like the following two? Do they come in basic yellow and chocolate with butter cream or would I be able to choose any other wedding cake flavors?

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37997447&postcount=245mini wedding cakes

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37506914&postcount=227

These two mini cakes are by far the cutest mini cakes I've seen in the whole thread. Now are they just mini occasion cakes or are they known as mini wedding cakes? That's why I'm just a tad bit confused.

Now I'm not sure where I want to present my boyfriend with this teeny cake for our 2yr anniversary. Would I call the cake hot line or private dining if I were to be at Konas or Jikos? Obviously 2 weeks out in advance.

I really just want white with blue flowers and yellow cake with a type of strawberry filling. And on the plate for it to say "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow, Happy 2yr Anniversary."

or

He also loves Magic Kingdom so that's why I was asking about the teeny 1-2 serving magic kingdom cake that they only have at the GF. Would I be able to get that sent to the Wave for Breakfast if we would happen to be there since it's on the monorail line?

Thank you for any help anyone can provide. :lovestruc

Correct.

No. The mini cake with the white chocolate topper only comes in chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse, yellow cake with white chocolate mousse, or cheesecake.

So far these have only ever turned up at the Grand Floridian and at BoardWalk Bakery. Theoretically the GF Bakery can make these in any flavor but carrot cake and any filling except fresh fruit (according to the cake pricing sheet for Disney weddings). However, when I called to order one at the Grand, they insisted I could only get them in chocolate w/ dark chocolate mousse or yellow with white chocolate mousse.

We call them "mini wedding cakes" in this thread. The Disney weddings cake pricing sheet that GF Private Dining has never heard of calls them "miniature cakes"...

Would I call the cake hot line or private dining if I were to be at Konas or Jikos?

Both will eventually get you the same place, but I skip the endless button-pushing by calling Private Dining at the resort. Neither the Poly nor AKL can make miniature cakes, but GF has been known to deliver to the Poly. So you would need to call GF private dining if you want to do that.

Would I be able to get that sent to the Wave for Breakfast if we would happen to be there since it's on the monorail line?

Doubtful—the Contemporary has its own fabulous pastry chef, so GF doesn't deliver there. You could talk to Contemporary private dining and see if they could approximate the design.

Ugh! What would we do without you! Thank you very much for the help!

I'm assuming this mini castle cake is totally different from the one I want for my boyfriend for $35? Because they were able to choose whatever flavors. =( I think it's the next bigger cake with the bigger castle cake topper? HAHA I can't tell, how sad.

I'm going to have to call the Boardwalk to see what they can do with flavors with the mini cake.

Oh dear, I just thought of something amazing! We held hands for the very first time at the Beach Club resort on the yellow couches in the lobby. I can tell him to wait there while I go pick up a hopefully strawberry flavored/filling whatever they can do with strawberries mini cake and take it back.
That way it'll be just the two of us, no loud people around us and it'll be meaningful.

LOL the original post of this was not in the Cake Thread, it was it's own thread on the Restaurants Board - it got merged into this one after I posted that! It IS confusing!

That sounds like a great idea!

That mini castle cake is a custom version of the ones available in only 3 flavor combos—most likely the reason they were able to pick different flavors is they were having a private event, which in my experience gets you a little more leverage with GF Private Dining. :(

The Boardwalk won't have that mini white chocolate castle topper, but I'm sure they can do something beautiful for you. :thumbsup2

I'm sure that I am about to ask a question that has been asked and answered many times, but I can't go through all 148 pages, so I apologize....

Is it possible to send pictures of a cake that you want replicated? I want to do either a Mickey Mouse cake that I haven't seen on the main list or a ladybug cake for my daughter's first birthday. Is this something that they will work with you on and if so, how do you go about doing it? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! :goodvibes

Yes. They will give you an email address and you can send it that way.:thumbsup2

This thread is awesome!

I have ordered custom cakes in the past but need some help this trip. We have ordered a delicious birthday cake delivered to 1900 Park Fare and I was told then that an 8 inch was the smallest that could be ordered if we did not want a podium cake. It was perfect, but HUGE for our party of three. We also ordered a mini wedding cake delivered to Les Chefs that was perfect.

Now I have two birthdays that I need cakes for. Still just a party of three so size is a concern. Honestly, I don't mind the expense as much as the huge wasted cake. But I do not want a podium cake. I want something fun and special. I wouldn't mind the mini castle type cakes or that awesome shell cake, but I think those are just from the GF bakery, yes?

I need one for delivery to California Grill and one for delivery to Yachtsman.

Any advice?

The contemporary resort and yacht club both have bakries capable of custom cakes call the hotline for each and explain to them what you are looking for!

I re-read the thread and yup, it was a private event. As for the mini cakes that they do at the Board Walk, I called and asked about them. They do a few different styles. With flowers, simple ribbons and flowers, without flowers around the circles with just ribbon and of course the ones I've seen on the board often, the mickey head dots all over the cake which are the color of your choice! I think they do a few more styles and the flavors are all sorts so I had to ask if they had a strawberry and they have strawberry mousse!

Two Styles from the BW Bakery

Thank you for all the help once again and I'm very excited for July! I'll post pictures <3

Thanks lurkyloo, I was so worried I was missing other tasty cake ideas, but glad to hear I'll find them all here :cake:!

Trying not to confuse anybody - the following link is a pic to a Pooh & Friends cake served at Disney Land, it has been reported DW will not do Pooh & Friends, even though I wish they would :(.

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=40584962&postcount=2615

The poster wasn't part of the party having the cake, so there is no information whether it was made onsite at a DL restuarant or offsite and brought in. I also realize it's not the best looking replication of characters, but I'm still fond of it just the same!

Again, this is a cake that was served at Disney Land, I just wanted to share my love for Pooh & Friends and sadness with other DISers about not being able to get Pooh & Friends cakes at DW.

If any other DISers feel that my warnings of this cake being served at DL are not sufficient or that if it would best be left out since this is a DW thread, please let me know and I will remove the link (but probably not my whining ;))!

Is it possible to have a cake delivered to Tony's in MK? We're eating there our first night in and I would love to order something special.

If they do, your cake would come from the Contemporary... the cake hotline # is : 407-827-2253, they should be able to point you in the right direction!

This thread is great! I am going in Sept and will have to order a cake for both my daughters birthdays.
I would like to have their cake for 1900 Park Fare. Do I just call GF and tell them which cake I like or do I have to fax them a picture?
Thanks for the info....:flower3:
