There are actually 2 of those going. The first one has the ordering information as well as cake flavors and fillings (although diffrent Deluxe Resort Bakeries have diffrent flavors and fillings)

The first cake I ordered from WDW private dining was a Chocolate with white chocolate filling cake. I believe it was 8 inches with a Lilo and Stitch theme...cost was about 40 dollars. It was served at O'hana in the Poly hotel and looked like this :

The current cake I'm ordering from GF Private dining is running me 180 dollars. 10 inch Haunted Mansion themed cake, yellow cake with baverian creme and strawberry filling.

OMG that looks amazing! I'm going to see if we can possibly do something like that at WCC. It's our last night, so that would be fun. I'd just go with different flavors, but even the theme is great! Thank you!

The prices seem to vary by resort. Over at the Contemporary they're $28 for plain with gold accents and $45 hand-painted. Meanwhile, the Grand Floridian quoted me $30 for unpainted ones. As with most things cake- and special dessert-related at Disney, it's best to call Private Dining at the resort where you want the thing and see what they're saying right now. :goodvibes

Any time! :cutie:

Lurkyloo when calling and speaking with Yacht and Beach club they told me any chocolate figures would be an additional $65.00 to a cake!! I said to the lady that is NOT what most of the others charge. She had no response to me. My real question about the figures are did they mention if they are going to still doing the Jedi Mickey? And if so how about a Princess Leia Minnie? lol just curious. The Yacht and beach said he would try it but it would be 215 for a 10 inch cake with Jedi Mickey/Princess Minnie. Uh no!

Okay, so I'm trying to order a cake @ the Contemporary and I think I have the wrong email address. Could someone im me so I can double check?

Thanks!

I would like to order a cake for Mother's Day, as my mom and I will be there that day. We will be having dinner at HDDR. What is the best place to order a cake from for there??

$65?! :scared1: You know, the GF bakers I spoke to were giving me the figure list off the top of their heads, so it could be that they just didn't mention Jedi Mickey, thinking no one would want it for a wedding cake. ...Although who would want a realistically painted RAT like Remy atop their wedding cake either? :rotfl:

If you want a fancy cake, contact Private Dining at the Contemporary Resort. Otherwise, just call the Cake Hotline listed in the first post of this thread.

We will be in Disney for Star Wars weekend and will be having dinner at Cape May Cafe on 5/21, since it is close to our 1yr wedding anniversary I wanted to have a small (feed like 6 people) replica of our top layer. Our reception was at Ariel's, right next to Cape May so I figured that would be a good place to have it.

Who do I contact and will they be able to replicate our wedding cake?

Okay, so I heard from the contemporary regarding my cake order (thanks Lurkyloo!). I was told the choice of fillings were either white chocolate mousse or dark chocolate mousse. Don't they also offer other fillings, such as raspberry mousse? I emailed back but haven't heard anything.

We just got a 10 inch cake from the Contemporary and we had the rasberry mousse and fresh rasberries. Maybe the options offered depend on the cake size? :confused3

I'm working on setting up a private event right now that will involve a cake. The planner I'm working with at the YC is getting all the quotes put together today or tomorrow.... I requested almond cake w/ raspberry filling, which is what our wedding cake was. I will post again once I get confirmation on if they will do it, and what the cost is.

I should also note that I'm not sure if this is coming from the GF bakery or not.... again, a little confusing:confused3 since it's a full event and not just a cake, but will share what I find out! :goodvibes

We're going in July for 5 nights, and have ADRs for 4 of the nights for dinner

50s Prime Time
Cape May Cafe
CRT
WCC

My friend's birthday and her daughters are at the end of June/mid July, and we have notes on our ADRs that we're celebrating their birthdays. I thought the slipper would be nice for CRT, but now I'm wondering if we can get something else for all of us. I know they do the slipper, but would they do a regular cake? There's 7 of us, and I figured that would be kind of nice.

If not, which would be the best place to do a cake for a birthday? I really wanted to celebrate the daughter's b-day at CRT, but if we can't do a cake cake.....idk. My brain hurts. It's not a necessity, but I thought it might be cool.

You can get a specialty cake (not just the podium cake) at CRT by calling Private Dining at the Contemporary. Your best bets for fancy cakes of the restaurants you listed are Cape May (Yacht & Beach Club Bakery), CRT (Contemporary Bakery), and Whispering Canyon Cafe (if you call the Contemporary, which delivers to WL).

I'm in the UK and wanting a birthday celebration cake for my son while at WDW. Are we able to call and arrange one while there? Or does it have to be way in advance?

Also, do you have any idea how much they cost? We'd not be wanting anything big. In fact, we might end up settling for none (or the dry cupcake if it happens  )

You need to give them at least 48 hours' notice, so if you will be in Orlando early enough, just wait to make the call. Prices vary widely depending on what you want and where you're getting it. If you check back through the last few pages of this thread you'll get an idea of average prices lately.

This may have been answered already and apologize if it has, but for a cake from the Contemporary, we need to get a wedding cake delivered to California Grill. How much time would they need for a wedding cake? I think standard time they would like is 2 weeks, but even if it's a wedding cake?

Yes, 2 weeks should be fine. I wouldn't call any more than 3 weeks out lest the order get lost in the shuffle. :thumbsup2

The Yacht & Beach Club bakery (through private dining) can do fancy cakes like a replica of your wedding cake, but they won't customize anything smaller than a 10-inch cake, for some reason.

Since your cake came from the Grand Floridian, the easiest way to get a 6-inch replica would be to call Private Dining at the Grand and have them pull your BEO. The problem is, you'd have to be staying or dining at the Grand to get it. :(

Maybe if you called Yacht & Beach Club private dining and explained that you're a Disney bride and you really really really don't want a 10-inch version of your wedding cake, they'll work some magic for you... :confused3

If you don't see a $75 cake handling fee in your estimated budget, your cake is being made at the site of your event. :thumbsup2

Standard chocolate/chocolate or vanilla/vanilla cake frosted in buttercream in 6-, 8- or 10-inch sizes. The only decoration that can be added is a screen print.

I had a great experience with the Yachtclub Bakery on our last trip. I special ordered a Haunted Mansion cake to be delivered to the Yachtsman Steakhouse for my stepson and his girlfriends birthday. I ordered a 10" marble cake with white chocolate mousse filling and chocolate buttercream icing. I had a specific cake design in mind already and I was hoping that they could make it. I called and spoke to a great gal named Yvette. She was so helpful. I asked it I could email over some pictures and ideas and she said sure. I sent over 4 pictures and instructions on what components I wanted from each one. I wanted the streching room portraits, hitch hiking ghosts, wallpaper around sides, and balck- red flowers. She forwarded it to the baker and promptly got back with me with a confirmation and price. I was soooooo happy with the cake. It turned out great! It was beautiful and delicious! Everyone at the restaurant commented on it! I could not have asked for a better experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone! I will try and post a picture.

Sounds great - can't wait to see the picture!!! There's also an official cake thread on here someplace - I'm sure they'd love to hear your story & see the pic too!

Can I use my TiW card to get a discount on a cake that I order through GF private dining? I saw it mentioned here and just wanted it confirmed.

Yes, if it's delivered to a restaurant. No if it's delivered to your room. Just know that they will also tack the 18% gratuity onto the price of the cake if you use the card, in addition to 18% on the price of the meal. So your server will get a hefty tip just for bringing out the cake. Not that s/he won't deserve it, but... something to consider!

Can I prepay the cake? If it's on our bill my husband will want to pay for it and I don't want him to pay for it, lol.
