Official Disney Cake Chatter - Part IV! (2012-2016)

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere, but I tried searching and just confused myself more!

I'd like to get a mini cake with the light-up castle on it for DD and me. I like the look of the two tier mini cake better than the single layer. Is it possible to get the light-up castle on the two tier mini cake? I thought they were just on the single layer minis, but I saw this image on page 125 (it says this is a mini cake), and it's exactly what I want to order.

Having so much cake trouble based on location of ressies!!! TRIP IS IN 3 DAYS!

All we want for two ten year old birthday boys is a mickey head cake.

Wanted Teppan Edo, but they have an outside vendor.
Could do Raglan Road and eat after our 6:45 dinner but then we'd have to take it back to hotel before going back to MK.
Could do a lunch cake at Cape May, but we'll have to run the cake back to the hotel.
Could have delivered to CBR --I think???- during a break between AK and MK.

Suggestions?
TIA
I had the same issues. I finally just ordered my 2 cakes from Boardwalk Bakery and picked them up before I checked in to CSR. We had our cakes on our room and we ate off them all week. You could eat in the food court also. It really worked for us! Good luck!

I had a cake like this made last month by the Contemporary bakery. The pic and info is on page 138. It is slightly bigger than a standard mini cake but not by much. Good luck!

Advice?!? I've been calling the cake line at the contemporary for two weeks to pkace my order after settling it with Chef Brian. Nobody has ever answered and I've left two messages, the voicemail says they will call back in 24 hours but nobody has done so. I just emailed Brain again...anything else I can do? I leave in 6 days and the date for the cake is on 11/4!

I'm not sure if that pic is of the light up castle, but we were told no, that we couldn't get the light up castle on a mini cake so we went with a 2 layer 6 inch cake instead.

Call the main number for the Contemporary - 407-824-1000 - and ask to be transferred to Private Dining. Tell them you want to place a cake order but no one has responded to all the voicemails and emails you've sent over the last 2 weeks and you need the cake next week. At the very least they can take down all the details of your order, and maybe they can get you in touch with a pastry chef too!

Can I ask where you ordered this from? It's pretty much what I am hoping for for our upcoming stay at All Stars Music, which means I'd have to order through ASMu but the cake will be made at the Boardwalk Bakery.

Dinner at FF means that the cake will be made by the Boardwalk Bakery.

Yes, I ordered this from Boardwalk Bakery through the Boardwalk private dining number.

Thank you lurkyloo!
I was running my kid's school fundraiser and didn't even have time to come back here (horrors!) but they called me at. 7pm last night and we settled it. They need me to resed the image I made but I deleted it since I don't want my husband to see it in my photo album. I am going to find it here and take a screenshot :)
I was so glad they called...the party was 2/3 over and I was absolutely dragging, I was so happy to get the cake settled and it re-energized me for the night! 5 days...

Could you text a cake order in with a picture?
We are going in 2 weeks and found an amazing cake for our trip. We would be celebrating at Ohanas
on Nov 8. Where would I contact for a Pirate themed cake with treasure chest, skull, extras?

Here is a picture of the Jack Skellington cake I ordered! It was $68. 6 inch chocolate buttercream, marble cake with chocolate buttercream filling. 2D Jack white chocolate topper. In my email I asked for skulls, spiders and webs as decorations and they were made out of either chocolate or sugar. I thought it came out awesome and tasted really good too. Chef Brian/Chef Mickeys from Wed night!

Has anyone ever been quoted an extra $100 for a fully painted 3D white chocolate figure (cake topper)? I've seen cakes on here for about $130 TOTAL cost with fully painted 3D toppers so I think this is wrong.

Called to order a cake at Jiko and talked to Virginia at AKL private dining. She is very nice and super helpful and responsive, but has checked with her bakers three separate times for me and been told the fully painted 3D Minnie mouse would be $30 for the figurineand an additional $100 to fully paint Minnie.

Kind of disappointed as I wanted a fully painted topper, but can't see paying $130 for it (more than doubles the cake cost).

I still think this is an error but wanted to see if anyone else had ever been quoted or charged $130 for a fully painted white chocolate topper.

Someone else can probably confirm better, but I actually think that is correct. I was shocked at the price of fully painted. I did gold accents on a Belle once and I think that was like $15

Not sure if anyone mentioned this year, but Chef Amanda isn't any Animal Kingdom Lodge bakery anymore (she got promoted I was told). The decorator I talked to there is really great though, so I don't think anything is going to change.

That sounds correct to me. The white chocolate characters alone are around $30 or more and hand painting costs quite a bit. I inquired about a painted Cinderella once and I think I was told it would be around $100 maybe a little more. Maybe it depends on the actual character though and how much detail is involved.

You'd need to contact Private Dining at the Grand Floridian. The phone number is in the second post of this thread. You'll have to ask the cast member who takes your order if she can accept an image via text.

I didn't get the best pics of the Star Wars cake I ordered for DH as we were too excited to eat it to take a minute to get some good lighting! We were very pleased though. It tasted amazing, it was very fresh, and they set the table up nicely with cloth napkins and silverware as we had it delivered to our room.

The total cost in the end was $84.12 and we left a $5 tip. It was super easy to set up as well. It only took one phone call where I described what I was looking for and voila, it appeared on the right day at the right time!

Everything you see (except for the light and battery) was edible. the rocks were made of meringue I think and there were 2 chocolate molds as well. The Darth Vader image was also a sheet of chocolate.

Love it! The Darth Vader is one of the best 2D stand up prints I've seen. Also love the frozen Han.

Love the cake!! And I agree - Frozen Han is awesome! I was wondering if there were pictures of good Star Wars cakes lying around this thread. Thank you for sharing yours! :)

I have called 3 times to the Carribean to get a caked order to be deliver to my room. I have not heard back yet. I want the cake as surprise for my husband. Any thoughts?

Have any of you ever ordered or seen a Professor Von Drake themed cake? My almost 3 year old is obsessed with him after watching episodes of Mickey Mouse Club House. He insists that we call him Professor most of the time and likes to wear his sunglasses down on the tip of his nose like Von Drake does.

We are a party of 3 and would prefer a 6 inch cake. We are staying at CR and plan to order from there. I will probably email them and see what they say and what images they may have, but I thought I would check with others here first. I have been following the cake chatter threads for years and don't recall seeing anything.

I have been looking for a good image of him or some inspiration, but haven't come up with much. An edible image on the cake would probably do, a 2D stand up image would be better.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
