Quick question - does anyone know the current status of the haunted mansion wallpaper design in fondant on a mini cake? CR said no in July, but I thought I read "yes" more recently.

Having so much cake trouble based on location of ressies!!! TRIP IS IN 3 DAYS!

All we want for two ten year old birthday boys is a mickey head cake.

Wanted Teppan Edo, but they have an outside vendor.
Could do Raglan Road and eat after our 6:45 dinner but then we'd have to take it back to hotel before going back to MK.
Could do a lunch cake at Cape May, but we'll have to run the cake back to the hotel.
Could have delivered to CBR --I think???- during a break between AK and MK.

Suggestions?
TIA

You can't get a Mickey cake at Raglan Road — it is not Disney-owned or -operated.

If you get the cake at Cape May, you can have Bell Services at Beach Club (not Cape May) keep it for you while you're in the parks and pick it up afterward.

You can have the cake delivered to your room at CBR and you don't have to be there, just checked in. As the previous poster said, you'd need to call the number in Post #2 for CBR and *they* will place the order with BoardWalk Bakery for you. If you call BoardWalk Bakery directly they will tell you they don't deliver. You could also just go pick one up at BoardWalk Bakery if your travels take you there. I'd call ahead, though.

I'm thinking about surprising my fiance (still very unaccustomed to saying that since we just got engaged last week!) with a cake for our trip in December, but even after reading through the FAQ and a lot of posts I still feel totally clueless!

I'd like to get the cake on the first or second night so we will have time to finish it over the week. We are doing Raglan Road the first night and Boatwright's the second night and I know neither of those are places we can get a cake delivered (correct me if I'm wrong). Any ideas from anyone?

Congrats on your engagement! Where are you staying? You can usually have a cake delivered to your Disney room, too. There is no prohibition on wrapping up your cake at restaurants. They're happy to do it. What they can't do is keep it in their fridge for you. But you can always check it with Bell Services at the resort if you need to park it while you're at the Magic Kingdom.

Thanks so much for the info :) We are actually having a pretty relaxed week, so we'll be hanging out at the resort most of the day after the pictures and brunch. I guess I was confused between "wrapping" and "holding". Whoops!

We are staying at POFQ (for the first half of the trip anyway, second half will be off-site), so as far as I can tell not much luck as far as delivering a cake to our room. I thought that was only for CR, GF and BW? If I could get it delivered to our room that would be awesome though, and definitely more convenient. Would that be possible?

Try calling the number for POFQ in Post #2 and see what they can do. The Moderates are notoriously difficult for cake delivery (even the Values are easier!), but if you can get ahold of somebody, they can usually get a cake brought to one of the resort restaurants or food courts, at the very least. You just might have to call a bunch before you can get someone to pick up.

Thanks! I will call POFQ and email CR and see which one makes more sense. We are doing Boatwright's, so maybe we could figure something out with that. If it can't be delivered to the room then I definitely want it delivered during a meal so the surprise factor will be at its utmost (hehe). It seems like The Wave will probably be the way to go in that case, and I'd definitely love to use the services of the CR bakery. I am probably going to wait until the beginning of November to order it, but I will update when I do that. Thanks again for your help. :goodvibes

I had it in August! I ordered it to Yachtman's Steakhouse so it was made by the boardwalk bakery

A picture of the top tier of our minicake along with order details and price are on page 123

I could just have the cake arrive at The Wave when we do brunch there our first day. Would it be possible for them to wrap it for us so we could eat it later? I thought I read that they couldn't wrap it up for you and you had to eat it on the spot. We'll be going to that brunch right from getting engagement pictures, so it would be nice to have a little celebratory cake waiting for us at that meal. I just don't think we'd be able to pile it on top of a big breakfast! If we could get it wrapped to go though, that would definitely be perfect timing.

Also, I saw some posters going back and fourth about a SW design, but I didn't really see that resolved. Have Star Wars things been cleared for cakes? My fiance is a SW nut, and I would love to get some sort of X-Wing design or really anything SW related on a mini-cake. He is not that big of a Disney fan, so if I couldn't get SW stuff I would probably just go with a bride and groom themed cake.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide. :thumbsup2

My understanding is you could do a cake at either of the locations you mentioned. I'm just not 100% sure if Raglan uses their own bakery or a Disney one - the second post should tell you. If you want to do it at The Wave they will happily put it back in the paper box it is delivered in, they cannot hold it for you so you'll have to take it with you when you leave the restaurant.

Question. We are going to be at MK on 11/9 where we will be celebrating our daughters 1st birthday. We are having lunch at one of the resorts and want to get a cake. We plan on doing a 6" cake btu wondering if they have a smash cake for our daughter. Thanks

You could order a separate mini cake for her, but you're looking at $35 and up. If you will be dining inside the MK that day, you can get a free birthday cupcake for her just by asking your server.

Was not aware of that. Will they make a whipped topping cake instead of buttercream for the 6" cake?

Well if Disney would actually create and share standardized cake info, we wouldn't have to resort to the Internet for all our info! Most people who have asked her for special flavors and been told "maybe but only if there's a wedding cake that uses them" have ended up getting what they asked for in the end. After speaking to the actual pastry chefs at numerous wedding showcases, it has become apparent to me that the only person who thinks certain flavors/designs can't be done is the Private Dining contact at the Grand Floridian. The chefs are happy to make cakes in whatever flavor or style is requested.

I asked for the ganache/PB filling and also told that only if used for a wedding. I never did get those flavors and i found the woman at GF very difficult to work with :/ They really DO need to just have info out there instead of people having to look all over the internet.

Did everyone call and follow-up after placing their order? I'm getting ours delivered on 11/1, so can I call maybe the beginning of next week to double check?

Just want to share my experience ordering today:
6 inch chocolate cake
raspberry mousse filling
chocolate buttercream icing
Wall-E edible image
for delivery at Flying Fish in 3 weeks
$38

My call was answered almost immediately, and the cast member I spoke with was very friendly and easy to deal with. I didn't have to give any credit card info, just my name and ADR details. I plan on calling a few days beforehand to confirm my order. I'll share photos afterwards!

Thanks for all the helpful info in this thread!

Yes—just be sure they know you want whipped cream frosting instead of buttercream.

Always. I usually call a couple of days out so there's still time if they've somehow lost the entire order or something.

Can I ask where you ordered this from? It's pretty much what I am hoping for for our upcoming stay at All Stars Music, which means I'd have to order through ASMu but the cake will be made at the Boardwalk Bakery.

Dinner at FF means that the cake will be made by the Boardwalk Bakery.
