I actually thought this episode was on the boring, ho hum side. I did like the fact that Gabi apologized, and Lynnette had some great tricks up her sleeve.

Lynettes' boss is a WITCH!

i'm also wondering what happened to bree's MIL - she had gone by the time i was able to turn the show on tonight :confused3 am glad she's gone!!

Spoilers below in white. Please highlight to see them if you want to.......

The Police told Bree there would be an autopsy and she didnt know why. He told her some new info had come up and she immediately knew it was her MIL giving them info. She went straight back to the house, packed the MIL stuff and stuck her in a cab.We did see the guy in the basement but not much. it really was a blur. He looked young to me but again it was a blur and hard to tell. He attaclked Matthew. The mom knock him out but hitting him on the head with the gun they always carry.

Im not sure George would have to take any meds to help him lie. It doesnt really seem to bother him at all. And yes he is very creepy.

ITA, I thought it was rather boring. Not sure if I by the Gabby act, but it was refreshing to see her that way. I think George is creepy. I was surprised by the lie detector test with Bree, but I figured Geoerge would breeze through.

Hopefully next week will be funnier.

I thought last night episode was so-so. I thought it was me, but I see there are others who think the same way.

Did George actually lie though? Wasn't the question, did Bree ask you to kill her husband. Bree had no idea George swtiched the meds, so technically he didn't lie.

I don't remember exactly how the question was worded, but I thought he did lie, so I believe they asked him if "he killed/poisoned" Rex.

I could be wrong though.

A recap of last night's show: Gabi was missing John, so she went spying on him while he was at work. While cutting "Joan's" lawn, she witnessed him go inside her house and she went to the window of the house and saw Joan & John going at it! So, Gabi took the hedge trimmer and cut all Joan's roses off her front yard! (which, btw: :rotfl2: ) So, later on, John confronts her at her home. They "end" their relationship (because Gabs was thinking there might have been a chance) because she realizes how stupid she was when John says he might "love" Joan! :rolleyes2
Parker (Lynette's son) doesn't want Dad to take him to his first day of kindergarten...he wants Mom. Lynette talks to the *****y old boss, and she tells her she cannot be off...she needs to be in work. So, Lynette rigs up a portable webcam (thru a cell phone I believe) and tries to stay at her desk long enuf (before being ordered to the staff meeting) to "be with" Parker and his Dad on the beginning of the first day of school (Parker really wanted Lynette to "see his cubbie" at school.) Ended up at staff meeting, Lynette was able to bang on table and cause boss's HOT coffee to spill on her lap! (That's why I'm wondering why she's working for this lady and not her old boss who told her "the door is always open for you".)
Once Bree found out the police were getting info "someone" about Rex's death, she basically packed her MIL's stuff and put her in a cab. She volunteered to take a polygraph test..and was thrown by the question if she had feelings for George. She was trying to prove to her kids (who witnessed her poly) that she was incapable of murdering her husband....which, they now believe. Since her daughter mentioned the fact that the night of his second heartattack, she did take her time (and made the bed) before taking him to the hospital.
Big to-do w/ Edie, Carl, Julie and Susan. Seems a family night thing at the church was happening and Julie asked Edie to play guitar to her singing. This upset Susan and she went round about and "played the Mom card" and Edie was out and Susan was in (playing piano). A change of heart after Susan saw Edie and Carl there to support Julie...and Susan gracefully (?) stepped down and let Edie play w/ Julie....even tho it had been awhile since Edie played the piano...she sounded kinda bad. So, of course, Carl thought Susan did this on purpose. (Poor Julie)
Whoever is in the basement, broke free. Matthew and him wrestled to the ground and Ma pistolwhipped him on the back of the head. Just after she knocked him out, Susan showed up at the door asking for refresher lessons on piano for the family night thing I mentioned above. Matt & Mom realize they really need to try to fit in and be more social.
While giving Susan lessons one night, Matt was downstairs attaching a new bolt to the door and to mask the sounds of the drill, he was playing his "hiphop" music really loud!
Next week they preview Susan searching for Zach....and she spots him in a local park. I really wish they find out Zach is not Mike's....I really want Mike and Susan together....which, I guess won't happen if Zach IS Mike's.
That's about it I can remember this morning.......if I've forgotten anything, ask and I'm sure someone will post! :wave2:

thanks so much for the recap!!!!
i have another question - i don't think i missed the beginning of the first episode this season, but i cannot for the life of me remember how susan & mike escape being killed by zach at mike's house. does anyone recall? thanks!!

It had it's moments (esp. the Lynette story line) but I have to agree that it wasn't one of their better episodes. Last week was MUCH better - faster pace, funnier. Hopefully next week will be better. :)

BTW - Bubba's Mom - AWESOME recap!!!

Philadisney - I think that when Zach was going to shoot Mike, Susan lunged at him and got the gun away from him and Zach ran off. Don't quote me on that though - the memory is a bit fuzzy on that one.

How come Gabrielle doesn`t act or look pregnant?
I wonder if she'll really have the baby. Ooh, that will be hilarious. Can you imagine Gabrielle changing diapers and dealing with a screaming baby? :rotfl:

Hi Silly, :wave2:

I wonder too, they seem to conventaly forgot about that for this episode. Does that mean it will not happen or they were just focusing on other things. I just don't see Gabby they way they wrote her not complaining about it on top of everything else and useing that card.

Well at least Gabby as a mom will make all us other "bad mom's" feel a little better. (actually I am guessing they are going to have her rise above and be a loving but self centered mom who is a lot better then she ever thought she could be.)

 Yeah, while Lynette goes back to being a stay-at-home mom and is a mess. :rotfl:

I think work has been good for Lynette. I think IF she goes back to being a SAHM she will be more content with her dession that it was her choice. Control over a situation can go a long way in making you feel better. ;)

Edited to add they got Mother I would like ___ in the fliters now. Ok I will settle for Hot Mamma, but you know what I mean. :rotfl: I guess they are on to us.

I heard in real life, Lynette's boss is pregnant and they are going to write it in the story.

I hope they keep Lynette working-and show the daily struggles.

The Lynette storyline really bothers me. Perhaps I'm taking it to personally, being childfree myself (or "childless by choice" as the boss lady put it), but they're going really overboard to make her look horrible.

I realize it's just a tv show, and one that exaggerates characters at every turn, but there are some real points to be made with that situation. I'd like to see them show the boss as just a little more human rather than this ridiculous charicature of what people already think childfree people are like.

We're not all evil, witchy, rigid control freaks, but we would like a little parity from time to time. What's wrong with showing that in a more balanced light?
Anybody agree?

I agree. The little speech that the boss lady gave last night (although probably not put as nicely as it could have been) was true for me. I am childless due to my young(ish) age and the fact that I'm not married yet, but childless nonetheless. I have worked in many business environments that have been very family friendly. It was great for those with children. They could come and go as they pleased (my boss, an exec, left every day for 2-3 hours to take her son to a swimming club downtown.) However, those of us without children often have to pick up the slack. We have personal lives too, and although they don't include children, why are they less important? My fiance had to a very scary doctor's appointment one day and I really wanted to be with him. He was scared, and so was I. However, I wasn't allowed to leave work because he is an adult and 'didn't need me to go with him.' It gets on my nerves, and I can sort of relate to this character, just not the nastiness.
