*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

I'm sorry for reposting this! Somehow I posted a few pages earlier instead of here

The exitement is building for our trip! Just wondering if anyone here has done the HDR? We are considering it, but haven't fully decided. Looking for feedback. Our kids are 15 and 10, if that makes a difference. Also, we've heard that campers decorate their individual campsites for the holidays and we thought we could check that out either before or after HDR. Is that even a feasible plan? Thanks in advance for your help!

BDLsgal and I will be doing the HDDR. Very interactive show and keeps your attention. And the BBQ was better than I would've thought. As for the decorations, it is worth the time to take a leisurely stroll and look at how dec'd out the campgrounds, RVs and even golf carts are.

Have a reservation at the Dolphin but holding out to see if I can get a good rate at the Poly. Not sure if anyone has looked at the last special rate that goes until the 21st: 20% off most deluxe resorts. Of course, the Poly is only 10% off and only Lagoon view. Special price: $709/night. :crazy2: Guess I will stick to my free room at the Dolphin!

@Rickat96 yiur first day plans sound great. Nice & relaxed but fun.

I'm not ready for fall. My dd turned 4 today & yesterday was her birthday party. Which was a pool party (Disney Princess themed). Tomorrow is the first day of school for both kids & a heat wave. I hope it cools off a little. I'm excited that football season is starting. Life is a little crazy here. Everything is starting back up. Fall ball, soccer, dance & school. I'm tired just thinking about it.

My sil gave me 2 Disney Birnbaum books. Anyone have any? Haven't had a chance to look at them. They just got back from their trip but I haven't had a chance to ask them anything about it. Her son's birthday party was staggered with my dd's.

I've bought the past 3 even #'d (2010, 2012, 2014) editions of the Unofficial Guide to WDW, and they are incredible reference books.

I'm trying to plan my touring days so that I'm ready for my 60+ booking window. I'm having a hard time planning, knowing (hoping, I guess) that the closing times will change. Anyone else? Any suggestions?

Star Wars Dessert Party dates are open on M,W,F, and Sat through the month of October. I don't like the limited dates...we want to go to one on a Saturday in December, so it won't be an issue for us if they keep that schedule, but I know it will be frustrating for a lot of people.

Just a head's up! I'll be back later to do any updating that needs to be done and see what else is new.

We're at our dalmatian day today, woohoo!

MK:
non-party nights - Celebrate the Magic (castle projection show) and Wishes (fireworks)
party nights - Holiday versions of the above, plus the holiday castle show, holiday parade, dance parties, etc

I picked a random date for times, 12/19. Based on the times on the Disney website, it has Wishes at 10pm that night. If you are there after MVMCP is finished (after the 22nd), there should also be a Christmas parade. The time is not listed.

The Electrical Water Pageant also goes across the lake and can be viewed from MK or the MK resorts, usually a half hour or so after Wishes.

Epcot:
Illuminations:Reflections of Earth - projections and fireworks on the world showcase lagoon.
Again, using 12/19, Illuminations is listed at 9:30pm

Candlelight Processional (first show at 5pm, dinner pkg available. Traditional Christian Christmas story with celebrity narrator and choral music)

AK:
to be determined
*maybe* Rivers of Light
Tree of Life Awakenings - throughout the evening, after sunset

Hollywood Studios:
Fantasmic, sometimes two shows per night...this is almost a guarantee during the holiday season.
Using 12/19, Fantasmic is listed at 8pm. There will likely be two shows, one to be added later

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, projection show with fireworks - no times listed yet

THANK YOU so very much! I appreciate your response. Now I can make sense of it all. :-)

I see some of you know who will be your narrator for CP. Have they released a full list or only informing you if you have reservations for the dinner package? I would love to know the schedule to better plan when we want to see it!!

We tend to plan our mornings/early afternoons and leave our evenings open, except for maybe grabbing some extra FPs after using our initial three, so I might not be much help...is there something particular you're wanting to plan at night that closing time would mess up? Or are you worried about parades/fireworks interfering with dining?
