Any other "crazy" DISers eyeing a December 2012 trip?

In 2010 my family went in both February and December, and I'd like to do that again in 2012!

Nothing official yet, but it would have to fall during Christmas week because of school vacation, and we will most likely stay either at the POP or the Art of Animation if it is open!

So, let the fun and games begin!

Well, I am eyeing a trip starting November 27 and ending December 4 2012. It fell thru this year, so really hoping to make it happen next year! All the holiday festivities should be well under way so we won't miss anything! I've been in May and July so this will be first winter trip.

I've been reading up a bit on holiday happenings around the World at that time, but would surely welcome any advice for traveling then. Obviously we'll want to see Osbourne lights, but not sure about Mickey's Christmas party yet.

Welcome to December, it's quite a magical time to go. Resort hop like crazy & make sure you see all the amazing decorations & pick up some gingerbread at GF for sure. The Osbourne Lights are a must-see & definitely make the Candlelight Processional a stop on your vacation as well. MVMCP is worth the money & if you're already there then take advantage. Snow on Main Street, the Castle lights, its all a very special time of year & you will have a great time.

We will be there!! 2012 will be our 5th Christmas at WDW! Not sure where we will stay. I know DS wants to try out the Art of Animation so we might do one or 2 nights there. We are DVC members so the rest will probably be at AKL, which is one of our home resorts.

We love Disney in December, but are taking a vacation in September this year. Knowing we won't be there this year for the holidays is making me so nostalgic!

We are looking forward to December 2012 and getting back in the Disney holiday spirit!

We will be there in December of 2012! We're still finalizing which week.. but most likely the first week. I'm really wanting to stay at Wilderness Lodge! Hopefully I can rent DVC points!

We'll be there in December 2012. It's going to a first time vist for myself, husband and my daughter. I haven't hammered out the exact dates yet but we want to go for my daughters 5th birthday which is Dec. 12th, so probably a day or two b4 that. I am so excited especially since we will be there during the Christmas Festivities!

I've posted this on a couple of different threads, but here is a fun, inexpensive and great photo opportunity tip. 1 morning, last Dec, we had an early breakfast at the Polynesian (a must do for breakfast is The Kona Cafe, YUM!) and after breakfast, we got on the monorail and checked out the Christmas decorations at the other monorail resorts. Seeing how each of the lobbies are decorated, how gigantic the Christmas trees are, the mouse ear wreathes in the window of the Contemporary. But what are the most impressive are the gingerbread structures in the Grand Floridian and Contemporary. In the Contemporary, there is a 12' high Christmas tree made of gingerbread. In the Grand Floridian, is a real gingerbread house. Inside the house, they sell..... You guessed it, gingerbread cookies.

Our pictures of the gingerbread house will be on our Christmas cards this year.

My hubby and I are planning a Disney trip for thanksgiving weekend thru the first week in Dec without kids or grandkids celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary just now in the planning stages.

BDL thanks for the advice...it sounds like fun to see all the decorations. We will have to put that on our list of to-dos..if not early then maybe when the crowds at the park are crazy.

It's so nice to see there're people out there as crazy as I am! Yes, I'm shooting for a LONG trip to WDW and Universal Studios in Dec 2012. We've been to WDW twice in Dec (08 and 09). It was such a wonderful time to be there. Love all the holiday decorations! And we want to make one more trip there in 2012. That's the plan!! I hope everything works out! So we all can have a magical Dec experience at WDW!

You guys have a longer wait than I do. I don't know if I could survive that long. HOWEVER, YOU guys get the better experiance, we will be going in July 2012. Hot, hot, hot. Congrats on the Christmas trips. I am a little green with envy.

Which resort are you guys planning to stay at? On-site or off? We're hoping to get a standard room at Disney's Art of Animation Resort which has yet to open. It's set to open next year, but I'm unsure as to whether or not they will open their standard rooms by Dec 2012. It's supposed to be a resort dedicated primarily to Family Suites.
