so just saw info on La Hacienda de San Angel and the Cantina- it appears ADRs are not available yet online, but I haven't been able to call yet. I am hoping to get a ressie for 8pm for 12/4 to catch Illuminations.

few more details have been released on La Hacienda de San Angel, opening mid-September in Walt Disney World’s Epcot. Reservations will be available for dates after October 15th, and the dates from opening through October 15th will be a soft opening period (i.e. walk-up guests only).
The Disney Parks Blog caught up with Richard Debler, the president of San Angel Inn LLC, and Executive Chef Ernesto Zendejas, in charge of the big changes at the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot. Here are some of the new insights:
New “Flex-Space” Concept for Disney Dining
The space will be used as an air-conditioned dining room for La Cantina de San Angel next door during the day, and as a full-service restaurant after 4pm.
The Cuisine and Menu
Two taco specialists are being brought in from one of the best taquerias in Mexico to work with the La Hacienda team. Corn tortillas will be made fresh on the premises daily for La Hacienda and La Cantina (the counter-service restaurant next door). Tomato, chipotle and serrano, tomatillo, and mango salsas will be made fresh as well, and there will be unique flavors from different regions of Mexico represented, including cilantro and habenero flavors Southern Mexico.
Favorite La Hacienda de San Angel menu items include mini tacos, including a chiles toreados y chorizitos version with roasted sweet peppers with lime and sea salt and mini chorizos (pork sausage). Skillet entrees will also be available, with meat, veggies, and seafood for make-your-own-taco.
La Cantina de San Angel Counter-Service Menu
The Cantina menu will focus on tacos with grilled meat or chicken, garnished with fresh pico de gallo. Less Tex-Mex, more regional authentic Mexico.
Margaritas
La Hacienda will have a tequila ambassador on staff every day. We will feature tequila flights similar to La Cava del Tequila. We’ve developed a whole new line of margaritas with a mixologist from New York City that include a coffee margarita, which incorporates the smoky-cacao flavor of Mescal. Other favorites are the passion fruit and lime-raspberry margaritas. We’re going to serve a mango-blueberry-basil margarita with fresh blueberries, mango puree and mashed basil, and an orange mango fire margarita with a dash of Tabasco and chile powder and ginger liquer. Margaritas will be frozen at La Cantina, on the rocks at La Hacienda.
Desserts
La Cantina will offer paletas (Popsicles) with fresh fruit, such as mango with peppers. At La Hacienda, sorbets will include tamarind, watermelon, and some tropical fruit flavors. A sweet tamal del dulce filled with guava paste will be good for sharing.
Disney Dining Plan Credits
La Cantina de San Angel is one counter service credit. La Hacienda de San Angel is one table-service credit per person. If guests order one of the dishes meant for sharing, that will be two points.

Quick question - do people think that Disney will announce the rest of the Narrator's for the Candlelight processional before the August 26 reservation date?
i am hoping they announce before! but i guess we never know with disney! Right now we are planning on trying for 12/8 with Jodi Benson, but if there is someone better earlier in the week, we might consider it.

:cheer2::yay::banana::cool1::cheer2::dance3::yay::woohoo: WOOOHOOOOO check out my ticker!! Its reading 3 months now!! I never thought it would say that!!
yeah!!! me too! :wizard::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Just contacted Disney (again) about when doors open for MVMCP. CM said they will "now open at 7pm." I've recently been told that doors will still open at 4pm, so I'm going to keep asking as we get closer!

By the way, they are staying mum on the missing narrators for CP.
to be honest, i wouldn't count on what any of the CMs tell me on the phone. I bet if you called back 5x, you would get 5 different answers, so I would wait until the first MVMCP and see what other folks say about what time they get in. Until it actually starts up, i don't think you will really know for sure. :confused3:rotfl:

Just wanted to post that I just put up a Pre-Trip report. I will warn anyone thinking of reading it that this is the first one I have ever written so it may not be really good. If anyone reads it and has any tips on how to improve, especially for when I write the trip report, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

woo hoo- i'll definitely check it out!

Hi guys! I need some major pixie dust to be sprinkled in DH's direction!!! He has to use up vacation days and even though we were just there in July, I really would like to be using them up at WDW! We got a great rate at POFQ 12/21-12/27 but the HUGE monkey wrench is in airfare. DH is having a heart attack because airfare from Burlington, Vermont is $500 each! He tends to live in the past when we could get a flight for $168 (those days are LONG gone, honey) and I don't think he'll go for it if that's how much it's going to be. So, I'm going to be crossing my fingers and checking everyday to see if anything changes, but any pixie dust sprinkled in this direction sure would help!!!!! I'd love to put a new ticker on my sig!
so sorry- i agree, check out different area airports and try adjusting hte dates a bit if you can. It can make all the difference in the world. I've noticed flights are just expensive everywhere right now. My trip to vegas that normally is less than $200 was almost $400 a few months ago.

Dec 4-12 at the Poly Club level. Saved $1600 with Passholder code. :cool1: Originally planned 4-12, but to get the discount we had to add an extra day, BOOHOO. I'm sooooooo upset.:laughing::laughing:

It's our Christmas present to ourselves, vacation, and anniversary trip all rolled into one.
We're so excited. We're going to a couple of signature restraunts, doing the MVMCP along with The Desert Party, and shopping at DTD. I'm also thinking of getting Disney Florist to deliver something for a surprise for him.

Like my signature says Mickey Here We Come. :dance3:
what a great present! club level no less- hey if you are going to do it, do it in style, right? :wizard::thumbsup2 have a blast! so what restaurants are you considering?

I'll be flying out of Boston on 12/9. For 2 tix round-trip, direct both ways on Jetblue (pre-flight attendant melt down) and it only cost me $526 total.

Yes, if we could leave even the week before, we could save TONS on the flights, but I teach until 3 on the 21st, so it limited us! BUT, we did book out of Manchester on Southwest nonstop, which is really nice for us because we always have to connect out of Burlington and that during the winter is quite often dicey. SO, we're coming down to POFQ the 22-28th! Can't wait!! Off to create a new ticker!

The cheapest we were able to find was $826.80 for the both of us. We are flying out of Logan on 12/1 and returning 12/12.

Thanks!! I've looked at several different combinations - my problem is I teach until the 21st and need to go back on the 3rd. I looked into leaving on the 26th and it seems to be the same. I'd love to drive down, but DH is like, no way, that's like a 24 hour trip. I'm still optimistic and will keep trying to be creative - DH is like, we were just there in July for 12 days, why do you want to go back again anyway? Haha, he's not a dismaniac like me! :lmao:

Haha! "dismaniac" I love it! :thumbsup2

I'd check different airlines possibly even a different airport. I booked 2 RT tickets from DFW (Dallas Fort Worth) to MCO back in June and paid 590 on Air Tran for our dates of Dec 23-29th.

Me, too! I think I've changed mine 10 times!!! I'm really happy (finally) with mine now, so I'm going to try and stop....:hyper: hopefully...:teeth:

I've done the same thing. I just yet again tonight canceled one breakfast reservation and got lucky and booked a Chef Mickey character breakfast for Christmas Eve morning.

Oh goodness, I need to finalize all of our plans! DBF graduated from bootcamp yesterday, and we got home last night only for him to find out he has to report for drilling this morning :sad1: On the bright side, it's only one weekend a month, and it's only two 4-hour drills each day. So when he gets home tonight, or possibly Sunday night, I'm going to tell him about the trip. Or should I wait until I get my confirmation in the mail? How should I reveal it? I'm just too excited for words, about our trip, but more just about having him home again. :goodvibes I started a PTR last week, link's in my sig if anybody wants to check out our story so far, and hopefully give a bit of advice to a first-time planner. ;) SO EXCITED!

Okay, we're finally booked, for better or worse - out of Manchester, NH on Southwest. DH squawked only a little at the price, but that direct flight is sooooo attractive. When we flew back through Newark in July our connecting flight to Burlington got cancelled and we ended up flying to Boston, renting a car and driving because DH HAD to be back at work the next day. SOOO - we're at POFQ from 12/22-12/28! Soooo excited, can't believe DH has agreed to this, don't know what came over him - perhaps it was all the pixie dust flung at him from my disboards buddies! ;) I've booked Crystal Palace for Christmas Day but what are others doing for their Christmas meal?

Yeah, I was really shocked that I got it. I figured "Hey what the heck I'll check and see. I doubt I'll get it but who knows." I go to click on it and it gave me 2 times and I was doing this ----- :cool1: :lmao:

Everything is booked but the Candlelight Processional.. :thumbsup2

I have an alarm set on my phone for the morning of Aug 16th to call Disney :)

Ok how did this thread get so far down and not have a post in almost 24 hours. What are you all slacking in your Disney planning?

I know I've taken a break from the ADR changing. Especially since my adr date for our March trip is coming up and I have to get all that info to the AKL IPO and I have no idea where I want to eat.

I'm working on tshirts tomorrow! WOOHOOO!!

I am starting to stretch out. In a matter of 3 hours I can officially do the double digit dance since it will be after midnight! :cool1:

Woo hoo!!

I am brain dead lately, have you started a PTR? Have you thought about doing one? I can't remember :rotfl:.

What kind are you making? I can't decide. I bought my boys red and green t-shirts that they aren't allowed to wear until the trip, but that is as far as I've got so far. :confused3
