so just saw info on La Hacienda de San Angel and the Cantina- it appears ADRs are not available yet online, but I haven't been able to call yet. I am hoping to get a ressie for 8pm for 12/4 to catch Illuminations.
few more details have been released on La Hacienda de San Angel, opening mid-September in Walt Disney Worlds Epcot. Reservations will be available for dates after October 15th, and the dates from opening through October 15th will be a soft opening period (i.e. walk-up guests only).
The Disney Parks Blog caught up with Richard Debler, the president of San Angel Inn LLC, and Executive Chef Ernesto Zendejas, in charge of the big changes at the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot. Here are some of the new insights:
New Flex-Space Concept for Disney Dining
The space will be used as an air-conditioned dining room for La Cantina de San Angel next door during the day, and as a full-service restaurant after 4pm.
The Cuisine and Menu
Two taco specialists are being brought in from one of the best taquerias in Mexico to work with the La Hacienda team. Corn tortillas will be made fresh on the premises daily for La Hacienda and La Cantina (the counter-service restaurant next door). Tomato, chipotle and serrano, tomatillo, and mango salsas will be made fresh as well, and there will be unique flavors from different regions of Mexico represented, including cilantro and habenero flavors Southern Mexico.
Favorite La Hacienda de San Angel menu items include mini tacos, including a chiles toreados y chorizitos version with roasted sweet peppers with lime and sea salt and mini chorizos (pork sausage). Skillet entrees will also be available, with meat, veggies, and seafood for make-your-own-taco.
La Cantina de San Angel Counter-Service Menu
The Cantina menu will focus on tacos with grilled meat or chicken, garnished with fresh pico de gallo. Less Tex-Mex, more regional authentic Mexico.
Margaritas
La Hacienda will have a tequila ambassador on staff every day. We will feature tequila flights similar to La Cava del Tequila. Weve developed a whole new line of margaritas with a mixologist from New York City that include a coffee margarita, which incorporates the smoky-cacao flavor of Mescal. Other favorites are the passion fruit and lime-raspberry margaritas. Were going to serve a mango-blueberry-basil margarita with fresh blueberries, mango puree and mashed basil, and an orange mango fire margarita with a dash of Tabasco and chile powder and ginger liquer. Margaritas will be frozen at La Cantina, on the rocks at La Hacienda.
Desserts
La Cantina will offer paletas (Popsicles) with fresh fruit, such as mango with peppers. At La Hacienda, sorbets will include tamarind, watermelon, and some tropical fruit flavors. A sweet tamal del dulce filled with guava paste will be good for sharing.
Disney Dining Plan Credits
La Cantina de San Angel is one counter service credit. La Hacienda de San Angel is one table-service credit per person. If guests order one of the dishes meant for sharing, that will be two points.

have a blast! so what restaurants are you considering?

i am hoping they announce before! but i guess we never know with disney! Right now we are planning on trying for 12/8 with Jodi Benson, but if there is someone better earlier in the week, we might consider it.Quick question - do people think that Disney will announce the rest of the Narrator's for the Candlelight processional before the August 26 reservation date?
yeah!!! me too!WOOOHOOOOO check out my ticker!! Its reading 3 months now!! I never thought it would say that!!

to be honest, i wouldn't count on what any of the CMs tell me on the phone. I bet if you called back 5x, you would get 5 different answers, so I would wait until the first MVMCP and see what other folks say about what time they get in. Until it actually starts up, i don't think you will really know for sure.Just contacted Disney (again) about when doors open for MVMCP. CM said they will "now open at 7pm." I've recently been told that doors will still open at 4pm, so I'm going to keep asking as we get closer!
By the way, they are staying mum on the missing narrators for CP.

woo hoo- i'll definitely check it out!Just wanted to post that I just put up a Pre-Trip report. I will warn anyone thinking of reading it that this is the first one I have ever written so it may not be really good. If anyone reads it and has any tips on how to improve, especially for when I write the trip report, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

so sorry- i agree, check out different area airports and try adjusting hte dates a bit if you can. It can make all the difference in the world. I've noticed flights are just expensive everywhere right now. My trip to vegas that normally is less than $200 was almost $400 a few months ago.Hi guys! I need some major pixie dust to be sprinkled in DH's direction!!! He has to use up vacation days and even though we were just there in July, I really would like to be using them up at WDW! We got a great rate at POFQ 12/21-12/27 but the HUGE monkey wrench is in airfare. DH is having a heart attack because airfare from Burlington, Vermont is $500 each!He tends to live in the past when we could get a flight for $168 (those days are LONG gone, honey) and I don't think he'll go for it if that's how much it's going to be. So, I'm going to be crossing my fingers and checking everyday to see if anything changes, but any pixie dust sprinkled in this direction sure would help!!!!! I'd love to put a new ticker on my sig!
what a great present! club level no less- hey if you are going to do it, do it in style, right?Dec 4-12 at the Poly Club level. Saved $1600 with Passholder code.Originally planned 4-12, but to get the discount we had to add an extra day, BOOHOO. I'm sooooooo upset.
It's our Christmas present to ourselves, vacation, and anniversary trip all rolled into one.
We're so excited. We're going to a couple of signature restraunts, doing the MVMCP along with The Desert Party, and shopping at DTD. I'm also thinking of getting Disney Florist to deliver something for a surprise for him.
Like my signature says Mickey Here We Come.![]()
