**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

I think I'm having a panic attack. I'm so afraid something is going to happen where we can't go. :guilty: I don't think I'm going to believe it until I'm actually standing on Main Street, USA. :upsidedow

Counting today, i have 4 more days of work. Not sure I can do it- i am just too excited!!! taking my son for a haircut today, then giving the dogs a bath tonight before they go to their grandma's on Friday. tomorrow, finish packing and final clean up around the house. Thursday, pedi at lunchtime. Friday- run dogs to mom's at lunch, then debating whether to take DS to his 5:45pm swim class or not....my MIL and niece are driving down from OK that night, but not sure what time they arrive. car picks us up at 4am on sat am! ouch!

and my stupid Facebook app on my iPhone isn't working- it won't load. i have synced it, turned it on and off and now just deleted the app and will try and re-install. i like to post up pics on FB from my trip for my family to see- i am going to be pissed if it won't start working. i hit FB app and it just comes up and then after a few seconds goes back to the home screen. never loads. ugh!!!! any ideas (it's the 3G and never had problems with it before in 2 years). all other apps are working and i even downloaded a new free app just to be sure. :confused3

Starting a list for snacks - where in MK do you get the cream cheese pretzel?
i actually love the jalapeno cheese filled pretzel- also available at the LUnching pad- as are frozen cokes- another great treat! :thumbsup2

Kids are 80% packed, I am about 50% packed and DH can fend for himself :lmao:

I NEED to go shopping tomorrow to get some more jeans to pack, I am too lazy to do laundry on vacation!

TWO more days of work :surfweb:
ONE root canal tomorrow :scared1:
OUCH on the root canal! but at least you can dream of disney while in the chair, right? :rotfl:

Ok... I'm at my 10 day mark so I can do the online check in but I've never done it before. Can someone please explain the advantages/disadvantages of doing the online check in?? I plan on faxing in our requests tomorrow while I'm at work so should I wait until after I do that?
the advantage is not waiting in a long line at check in. however, there may not be a line anyways, it just depends on your resort and time of day. If you do online check in- you go to another special area other than the normal line and they will have a folder and your documents already prepared and ready, so there isn't much waiting. If you do regular check in- you might have a line to face (I've seen it at least 30 people deep during POP at POR) and about 9 deep at CBR, 6 deep at WL in my experience.......if you do normal check in- you might have to wait a bit while they print/prepare your documents right there for you instead of in advance.

Okay I have an actual question. My dd is upset because she is going to miss nacho day at school (go figure!). So I told her we'll find them somewhere that day. Anyone know of anywhere in DHS (that's where we'll be that day) to get nachos?

Ok... A week and a 1/2 left til I'm at the World and I'm giving myself an ulcer. :scared1: I booked a 5:15 Crystal Palace ADR months ago, for the night that we have MVMCP tix (cuts down on the stress if we're already there). Now, I'm hearing that they do the lighting of the castle at 6:15. With the horror stories that I've heard about some ADR's not being seated until 30-45 min after their appointed time, I have the panic that I won't be able to see the lighting. This is my first trip during Christmas season and I don't want us to miss a thing. :santa:

As luck would have it, I was able to get an ADR for Crystal Palace in the 2pm hour, but hear they switch over for dinner at 3:15. Does this mean that if I get seated at like 2:30, I'll have to finish my food in 20 minutes and there won't be any Pooh characters?

If anyone has the info, or a similar story, advice of which 1 to keep and which 1 to drop or even a soothing thought, I'd appreciate it. :worship:

Now for the game:
First park: Most likely the Magic Kingdom
First snack: We like those chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches
First ride: According to my DH, He says it depends if we turn left or right. If we go right, it's Buzz's Space Ranger Spin; left is Jungle boat!

Here's something. How many people can remember what they did the very first time they went? I know I can't but my DH went for the first time on our honeymoon. Our first park was Magic Kingdom.:thumbsup2 My first snack was the frozen banana:banana: and his was the Chocolate chip ice cream sandwich, which is why he loves them so much now! Our first ride was Haunted Mansion, because it was always my favorite and I wanted to share that with him.:lovestruc I made him bypass everything else just to ride that first.... plus, we were married on Halloween, so I thought it was appropriate for it to be our first ride as husband and wife!!!

This trip:
First park: DHS
First meal: 50's Prime Time
First snack: probably popcorn, but not sure - not a big snacker.
First ride: TSM (yeah, right! We arrive in the afternoon!) or RnR.

Now the first time I went:
First park: MK - in fact, it was the only park! :rotfl: It was 1972.
First ride: 20,000 Leagues under the Sea. (I still miss that ride.)
First snack: Pastry from the Main Street Bakery.

SMART move! :thumbsup2 We've eaten at Crystal Palace every trip and have NEVER been seated on time. I've stood in line as long as 20 minutes just to check in. :scared1: (BUT - we usually travel in June, so everything is a little crazy then. ;))

I'd stick with the 2 pm reservation. The only thing that changes at dinner is the price. The food is the same and the characters are still there. :goodvibes They won't rush you out or anything. You'll be able to enjoy your meal and get lots of pics with Pooh. :)

just bought my mvmcp tix for 12/10, dont know why i waited so long i was nervous about something coming up as well. 6 days:yay:

Good point!:thumbsup2 OK, so the first park WAS MK! I remember we had booklets with the tickets (E ticket rides!) I still don't remember what my first ride was but I do remember that my second sister and I saved our E tickets for the horseback riding at FW. I have no clue what we ate.:confused3 We were camping at FW, and I'm sure it was a budgeted trip, so we probably didn't even eat in the park. I do remember my first stuffed animal was one of the pups from 101 Dalmatians. I also remember losing a tooth on this trip! Little did I know that this would be the beginning of a lifelong addiction!!!

Doing some gathering, packing and cleaning today. The anticipation is killing me. My DH is so excited, he thought he had only one more work week left.:woohoo: I popped his little bubble and reminded him it was TWO!:sad1: It's not pretty watching a grown man cry!:rotfl2:

First snack: Not sure, maybe a doll whip!
First ride: Pirates (if dad or mom wins) or Dumbo (if the kiddos win)

First time I went:
First park: HS
First ride: Tower of Terror (no wonder its my all time favorite ride anywhere!)
First snack: can't remember

Okay, so my brain is on vacation already, apparently. I have locked myself out of my house twice in the past two days!!

I am so excited. We are telling our son tomorrow night. :jumping1:

We did online check in yesterday. The system was so slow! But that is now done. I can't wait to tell DS, because then I can begin packing. The neighbor who usually agrees to shovel our walks when we go on vacation is sick and probably won't be able to do that. So now we have to find somone to shovel our walkways if it snows while we're gone.

the only thing is that they simply start switching out the buffet food from the lunch items to dinner items (if there is even much of a change, might not be) and of course the price. The characters will still come around etc. We ate a late breakfast one time- 10:45am and they switched to lunch at 11, so we got to try some breakfast items and lunch items and it was pretty dead too- really fun!

the castle lighting is amazing, so you don't want to miss it!

Getting very excited to head to my favorite place in the world! My BF just decided to join us on this trip. It is his first time to go to anywhere Disney! I can't wait to show him "the world".:yay::yay:

When seeing my ticker I just realized I am 10 days away from being in the world at this very moment!

So I will relay my first park: EPCOT ( my favorite)
First Ride: Soarin or Test Track
First Snack: Something in Norway..
