Former Dancing with the Starspartners Robert Herjavec andKym Johnson are engaged, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm.

"I still can't believe that a year after walking into a dance studio of all places, my life has changed this much," Herjavec, who popped the question with a gorgeous 6.5-carat ring, tells PEOPLE. "Kym is an incredible woman and I'm just so excited for what the future brings for us."

After the proposal, the couple returned home where they were greeted by over 30 friends and loved ones, including Kym's mom from Australia, some of her Dancing with the Stars friends and close pal Carson Kressley, among others.

But, they usually don't take 8 months to mount a Broadway musical. Many go up with a lot less time than that unless it is very complex like Sweeney Todd. And they already have most of the script, since it will be like the movie.

I wonder if we will hear another announcement that he's going to be doing both and at the last minute, (with all the hype,) will be joining DWTS, after all. Like he did when he was in the Radio City Music Hall show with the Rockettes last year.

Maybe they aren't announcing Emma as a Pro until later, when she gets the Bachelor. That happened with Witney when Chris Soules was on. Emma is the Sweetheart of the show!

So happy for Kym. She's a very sweet lady, she deserves a grand life.

And a Hough-less season it seems. It's been a long time. I think they will be missed.

Got a bit excited to see the red carpet photo of Derek with Hayley Reinhardt, but it turned out she was in the number he performed at the Oscar party. So maybe it wasn't a "date".
