Official Dancing With the Stars: Season 19

so is that list official now?

Couldn't watch GMA this morning, dealing with sick DGD :(

I haven't watched the past few seasons (Kirstie Alley's was the last one I watched regularly), but I just may tune in this time. VERY curious to see how Tommy Chong and Michael Waltrip do. :thumbsup2

And I has a major sad that Maks isn't on. Sigh.

Here's a little cheat sheet in case anyone is like me and doesn't know the majority of the "Stars" competing this season - (I know 5 out of the 13) ... Looks like I'll be watching TBBT on Mondays and catching DWTS On Demand when (and if) I get around to it ... :)

Thanks Brit! :thumbsup2 I had to leave earlier than originally planned this morning and couldn't post the list as GMA announced it.

The first post has been updated with the list and descriptions of these "stars" (snipped from Brit17) as we will need it. :teacher:

The phone numbers & links to vote will be updated on the season premiere which is Sept 15th.

They really scraped the bottom of the barrel for "stars" this season.

Bethany Mota? Really?

DWTS has revived many careers, so you would think they could get at least some B-list celebrities. I think this season's cast is a new low.

I think they are trying to reach out to a younger audience. My teen DD loves to watch Youtube stars.

I've never been this disappointed in a "celebrity" cast. I honestly have never even heard of MOST of these people, and am certainly not a fan of any of them. This is the best they could get?

I recognized 5 names on the list, can't say I'm a fan of anyone of them. On the plus side maybe people will actually vote for the best dancers since most of these won't have a huge fan base.

Not sure how I'll like having Julianne as the 4th judge, don't think they need 4 judges & am still pissed at her telling Maks that he was phoning it in.

Let's just hope some of them are good dancers because the "star" level for this season is really low.

Did anyone else watch the introduction clip from GMA and think Alfonso's personality was kind of a turn off? I know he is supposed to be a front runner, and I LOVE the Carlton dance, but I don't know. He seemed like kind of a camera hog and actually a little bit full of himself. Many a star has seemed like a contender in the beginning but been voted off due to not connecting to the audience. And it's not like he has a big name pro to lend him HER fanbase (Cheryl, Karina)

I believe he'll still make mid-season, based on the fact that a lot of the stars on this cast may not have big fanbases, and he is probably going to be very good, but I'm definitely not ready to call him the winner. Or even a definite for the finale. If a few more contestants come out with some seriously great dancing and adorable personalities, he may find himself voted out before he thinks, IMO. What do y'all think?

Even though I had to look to see who some of these people are (Tavis Smiley, Janel, the MMA guy and Bethany Mota were the ones I was not sure of), I am still going to watch. I love the dances and i enjoy getting to know who these people are. I never know, I may end up a fan of someone I had never heard of before!

Fingers crossed that "The Carlton" is worked in somewhere!!!!!:goodvibes

...how can it NOT be? :confused3 It's too 'famous'! :scratchin Or should I say 'Infamous'.......;)

Why are people always so surprised when there aren't 'A-list' celebs participating? Besides the fact that 'A-list' and even 'celebrity' mean something different to everyone, the big stars can't really participate bc they're already busy. DWTS is a HUGE time commitment and anyone currently in a show/sports season/movie/concert tour, simply can't take the time needed to be on the show. Honestly, I think this seasons 'stars' are about the same caliber as past seasons. There's a couple I don't know, and a few I agree that they're reaching when they call them a star, but that's the same every season. They try to get a variety of different ppl to appeal to the greatest number, and they do a pretty good job I think.

I agree about Julianne and not being excited for her as a judge. I know she's been gone for a few seasons now, but I don't think it's fair to have someone who's competed previously suddenly be judging her peers, including many whose experience exceeds hers. And comparing her to maks (who feels like they were being tested for a full time position when they guest judged last season?) I preferred his thoughts and criticisms to hers. I mostly just watch the performances though, and don't pay much attention to the judges and stuff.

......yeah....that's what the FF button is for on your DVR....;)

I wasn't expecting any A-list celebrities, I thought there'd be at least a few C-list ones, most of these people aren't on any list. Usually there's 2 or 3 that I've never heard of but this year there's more than half, I think that's what people are surprised by.

Yes it does take a lot of time & it's mostly been stars that want to jump-start a come-back. I think this year's list is doing it for the money.

It's on... where is everyone?

First up Antonio Sabato, Jr. Not hot, in my opinion.

I'm watching but only cause nothing else is on, once Gotham starts next week I will be done. No one really interest me enough and adding Julianne makes it worse.:headache:
