Hi Gang!

Just caught up on DVR. I think tonight's honors go to Kellie. I love her attitude. She will go all the way to the finals.

Wynona... holy smokes that was hard on the eyes in many ways. But, kudos to her for getting out there. Also what did her sister do to her face??

The soap star was yummy!! Hope he carries over for a while.

Jacoby was very entertaining. I think I'll put him on my favorites list.

Zendaya was clearly head and shoulders above the rest like we have seen before from the Disney stars. I wanted not to like her because she has training, but I really enjoyed her performance.

I was super shocked at how stiff and nervous DL seemed. I figured he would be a bit more cool.

The rest of them kinda blended together for me.


One last thing............ I miss Maks!!!!!!!!!!!

An overall comment- they really got all the stars' sob stories out there in the first episode! Usually they wait until the "tell a personal story with your dance" week to really go for the sympathy votes. I think every one of them told some sad story in their rehearsal footage piece tonight.

**Editing to add- Not that I'm not sympathetic to most of them, but they all seemed to lead with the sad stuff right out of the gate...**

I am DVR'ing it and just finished watching Wy. All I can say is that her outfit and dancing reminded me of one of my favorite lines from the movie Steel Magnolias:

"Looks like two pigs fightin' under a blanket."

Wynona will soon be wearing fringe so the shimmying will distract. They did that a lot for Kirstie and don't get me started on Bristol wearing it week after week.

I read that Ashley Judd has been taking medication and that is what is causing the puffy face. There was a lot of speculation about plastic surgery gone wrong when she was in that tv series last year.

She always looks like she has a hard tie WALKING. I'm surprised (yet admire her moxie,) that she thinks she can dance, But on some interview Wynonna mentioned that she's good friends with Kirstie Alley, so maybe she thought that Maks could do miracles for her, too. Only Maks didn't come back.

I freakin forgot to watch tonight! Pisses me off. Thank goodness for this thread!!! I was able to catch Lisa Vanderdoggy whatever, on another website. Is that dog alive? LOL

Chiming in with my thoughts:

Kellie - I never saw her on Amer. Idol, but I thought she did great. With Derek as her partner, she'll go far.

Lisa Vanderplump - what is with the dog??? Are they going to work the dog into a routine or something? She won't last long.

Zendaya - WOW! Lots of maturity for only 16 years old. I think Zendaya and Kellie will make it to the finals.

Dorothy Hammill - I've been a fan of hers forever! But like a pp said, it looked like she skated her routine. It was very nice and elegant. We'll see how she does on faster routines, like the quick step. She'll go far, but I don't think she'll make the finals.

Wynona - what a mess! Either she or DL should go home next week, but they'll probably keep Wynona around for a while just because she's the biggest star this season. A lot of people have said that Wynona is this season's Kirstie Alley, but at least Kirstie could MOVE! Wynona just shuffles her feet and smiles.

Aly (the gymnast) - too athletic, needs to get more graceful. And to wear outfits that cover more; she's lucky she didn't bust out of her top!

DL - another mess. He basically stood there and Cheryl danced around him. He'll go home next week.

Sean the bachelor - did ok, nothing spectacular. Has potential; will prob. make it to the middle.

The boxer (can't remember his name) - another one with potential.

I think this will be an interesting season!

I didn't either. I know some people give Ryan a hard time, but I really like him. I don't think there are many in the business that work as hard as he does, and he seems genuinely nice.

Jacoby - I liked him a lot, especially for only ONE WEEK!


Ooops ... I forgot all about DL. I think he was the worst of the night.

For Jacoby to come out week one, with 1 week of working on the dance, he did pretty darn well. Yes, there are "ballroom" dancing issue that he will need to work on, but for them to put out what they did with the limited time they had - WOW!!!

And best line of the night was from Jacoby, when Brooke was asking him about being outta breath. "There ain't no play in football that last a minute and a half. That play took 11 seconds, went to tv time out, then the lights went out."

Dancing takes a lot of of umphf to go full out. DD has both a tshirt and bumper sticker that says If Football were harder, it would be called Dancing.

Just my personal 1st impressions, and how I will be rooting/voting.

Loved: Zendaya, Alexandra, and Jacoby

Kellie: Just OK, has potential, will have to see what happens

Can't STAND and REALLY want to leave: DL, Wynonna, Lisa (I swear if I have to look at that ugly little hairy dog every episode I will start throwing things, and already her griping about having to hold onto her partner - "it feels like being unfaithful" - is SO annoying. It is a dance competition what did you think you would have to do?!?), Andy

Ambivalent about: Victor (has potential), Dorothy (I want to like her, and I think she will give it her all, but she just may be too old and "skating" her moves may be to habitual for her), Sean (the whole "I am doing it for my bride" thing may get old, and I am not sure he will make it too far)

Looking forward to this season just as soon as DL and Lisa get the boot!!

Don't know about the doggy, but the recap show is on tonight -- 9pm Eastern -- so you can see the dances, without a lot of the other fluff from last night!

It will be on after SPLASH! (just the thought of that show scares the bejeepers out of me! )

I really liked Kellie. I've never watch AI, but she has a cute personality. I HATED what they did to her hair for the dance. It's such a cute cut and then they gave her an old lady blow-out.

The young Disney gal, she's good but then she's a professional. I was really distracted by her hands and feet, though. I hope she still has some growing to do, because they are huge. Those long nails looked like claws. I also really hope Val keeps it clean. No sexual overtones, please. That's skeevy.

The housewife needs to go, and her little dog, too. That's just weird.

I kinda like Wynonna, but her facial expressions during the judging were getting on my nerves. What was she trying to convey? Sexy, spunky, angry? The exercise is good for her and maybe she'll surprise us later.

Liked Dorothy and I agree that it looked liked she was skating.

Really liked Jacoby, and we're Steelers fans!

Allie didn't shine, and I really wanted her to. Zero personality came out of her during the dance and her dress made her look like a sausage. Wardrobe needs to work on that.

I wanted to like Ingo, too. I'm hoping it was just the contemporary dance. That's not my favorite style and it's so hard to do well.

I've never liked Andy Dick, so aptly named. I'd like to see the boxer stick around. Don't care about the bachelor. I felt sorry for DL. He's funny but dancing is not for him. He can leave the competition knowing he's better than Bolton, though!
