Official Dancing With the Stars - Fall 2019

How is it no one can get Spicer to dance on the balls of his feet? :headache: He'd look 200% better and would probably be in rhythm if he did. :badpc:

Team Treat_ better theme and more entertaining. I won't comment on technique. ;)

BOTTOM TWO:
Karamo & Jenna
Kate & Pasha

Judges Votes for who stays:
Carrie Ann: Karamo & Jenna
Bruno: Kate & Pasha
Len: Kate & Pasha (deciding vote as head judge)

GOING HOME:
Karamo & Jenna

I'm out of here. I'm done unless/until this turns back into a REAL dance competition. If that means missing the rest of the season, so be it. I was already iffy on coming back after the Bobby fiasco. I will not continue to watch, week to week, as really good dancers are being picked off, one by one, sniper style. (This is actually a good season in which all of the good dancers could win for their dancing.) We were on this hamster wheel before. I have no interest in doing it again.

I will be watching The Voice, instead. (Or at least, having my TV tuned to it.)

Oct 31st is the start of the November Sweeps weeks. This time period is crucial for the major TV networks to pull in the ratings & viewers for their TV shows. Higher ratings means higher advertising dollars for their shows for the coming months.

The heads of ABC & the new showrunner/exec producer of DWTS knew full well that casting Spicer would likely skew the votes for the show. So, I will be taking my real DWTS votes, (of what I watch during Nov Sweeps,) and take them to another channel. I encourage all of you who also want this to be a dance competition to do the same.

It makes me so sad that the real fans of this dancing competition are being run off by petty people with no lives, who think it's funny to screw with the show. How many years have you run this thread? It sux that dumb people run off the real viewers who watch season after season.

Please don’t do this. I know it’s upsetting that someone who can’t dance is winning the popularity contest. Again. I’m upset too. But if real fans of the show quit watching and quit voting, all that will be left is the non-dancing star’s fan base. Many of which don’t even watch. If no one watches, the show will be canceled.

I will be with you 100% if Sean wins. I am holding out that the show will right itself just as it has in the past. I think Bobby was a special case since he had millions of listeners that he talked to every day and activity asked to vote for him. I think Sean is another Bristol or Rossy who will make it until the rest of the vote finally concentrated on the other 2-3 contestants. Give the show a chance to correct itself. How many times have lesser dancers stayed while better were booted? Every season. There are still 7 teams!

I don’t think that people vote for him because they think it’s funny to mess with the show. Sean is not like Master P. They vote for him because they *like* him. That being said, I’m not sure a lot of his fans are actually watching. They’re just voting.

I participate in the DWTS thread every now & then.

For the past couple of seasons, I've only semi-watched while I've done other things & haven't tried to catch up if I miss an episode.

Halloween Night used to be my favorite.

I miss the exciting choreographers like Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, & Sharna &, when other good & interesting choreographers like Peta & Cheryl were paired w/ good dancers who would last for much of the season.

I think of Spicer like Bristol Palin. And, actually, for some reason, he doesn't bother me as much as Bristol did.

Going back to the beginning, there have always been poor dancers who have lasted longer than the better dancers. But, usually, by the last 4-5 dancers, the not-as-good dancers have been voted off. It just didn't happen that way w/ Bobby.

But to counterbalance the not as talented dancers, there have always been better dancers who had chemistry w/ their partners & choreographers who could come up w/ really cool routines.

And, for me, I'm really missing the chemistry & the hot, exciting routines.

I actually don't blame Spicer's FANS. I blame the head(s) of ABC Entertainment and the new showrunner/exec producer of DWTS who knew full well that casting Spicer would likely skew the votes for the show.

Tom said in an interview that he even had lunch with the new showrunner and talked to him privately about how he felt about casting Spicer and what he thought it would do to the show. This is before he publicly stated his objection. I know he got some flack on social media. Some say he shouldn't have said it publicly. Others stated he had no right. He's "only" the host.

I disagree with them. Tom and the 3 judges have been with the show the whole 28 seasons. We've all seen actors & performers who are basically showing up to their shows and punching in a time clock and picking up a hefty check and don't really care about the shows anymore. Tom isn't one of them. I think Tom truly cares, and thus, yes, publicly made his objection to their decision to cast Spicer, when they had a chance to do something about it. (The 3 judges can't state what they think as they have to publicly appear impartial to vote.)

The head(s) of ABC Entertainment and the new showrunner/exec producer can STILL do something NOW. There is actually a new head of ABC Programming this season, Karey Burke. Previous programming head, Channing Dungey, left for Netflix. The decisions these two make this season, particularly during November Sweeps affects their careers greatly. A tank in ratings during Nov Sweeps affects THEM greatly. That is WHY I choose not to watch. And I encourage others not to either. A mass exodus of actual viewers affects THEM.

THEY have the power to change this show. We all heard the promos before the premiere how there would be "new changes" or whatever to the show. But we are watching the "Bristol Palin season" all over again. Only, instead of 3 good dancers, only 2 of them making it to the Final, (Bristol knocking out Brandy,) THIS season it's different. We had 8 really great dancers on this season, if we include Sailor & Karamo. There are enough weeks that ANY of them could have won. And we know that the Freestyle dance can make all the difference. Instead, we are watching them being picked off, one by one, like an Agathe Christie mystery novel.

I won't be party to to this. If DWTS really has some changes they can institute, they are already 2 weeks behind in doing it. IF they are purposely waiting till Nov Sweeps is in full swing, which is 4 weeks long, then they are manipulating us, and worse, those stars who are dancing their hearts & feet off and still getting unfairly booted off. I'm not coming back until Spicer's gone. And if this is going to be another Bristol Palin/Bobby Bones seasons, I don't want to waste my time.

There is a great Russian proverb from Star Trek: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on ME." :sad2:
