OFFICIAL D23 Membership available for all Disney fans--Will you join too? UPDATE

My hubby got me my D23 membership as a VERY early b-day gift (it's in July). We talked about getting it and decided when the magazine is almost 70 dollars for the year buying the membership wasn't that much more. So far I like what I see...not that it's shipped yet. LOL

My birthday's in July too and yep, my D23 membership is my b'day present from DH also. He didn't even have to order it, I called him a work and said "guess what, my birthday's taken care of"

Oh and by the way, my launch day t-shirt came in monday, but still no sign of the membership kit (I can't wait to get my hands on that magazine!)

I'm thinking about getting one of those too...but was curious about the same thing. I was also curious how thik it actually was. If no one has any answers i'll probebly go ahead and order one within a week or so.

If you go the the main D23 page at disney shopping, there is a place for you to sign in, your user name and password are the same as your disney shopping ones. Try that, cause i've been able to log in everytime I go back! Too funny, I also order the D23 pin from disney movie rewards

I don't know if this has been covered yet as I haven't read all the replies,but I wish that for this year the price would have been 23 dollars as a launch promotion. The price they are charging for this is way out of line in today's economy.

That would have been cool.

But it is supposed to be an exclusive club, so the high price is a way to get the exclusivity.

I can sort of see your point,but I'd bet Disney would rather have,say,one million members than 100,000 members.

i have yet to hear anyone say it wasn't worth the price. i've heard people say it's cost prohibitive, but nothing to the effect that it's a ripoff.

No, I don't think it is a ripoff. I think it is something that a lot of people can get a lot out of.

It's a niche market.

For me it doesn't make a lot of sense to join, but for others it may be great.

I don't know if my point came across well, but what I was trying to say was exclusivity has a price. Just like box seats or country club memberships.

I agree...68 bucks just for the magazine, without tax. With tax in my town is just under 73 dollars. So $75 for a membership is just another 2 bucks for me. It made complete sense to get it. But I know that if the cost of membership had been in the 3 digits, we wouldn't have gotten it either.

Received my "Launch Day" shirt today

It's pretty darned nice, for a t-shirt. Great design and nice fabric. The certificate and the pin I ordered were not included, so I have those to look forward to still. I believe that the shirt will be going into our "Spur of the Moment Disney Bag."
