I just received an email from disney saying that from 8/5-8/26 I could get a value resort for $82 a night. That doesn't seem any cheaper than the usual value season rate,is it????

That is the value season price for value resorts. Value season begins on August 5th for value resorts. AAA pricing is available on their website, but the number of discounted rooms seems to be diminishing. Good luck!

Wow, Disney sure is being generous. Letting you book and pay full price--do they think we were born yesterday. I guess they are trying to fill those 7 rooms our family canceled last week at Pop for mid-August.

It really ticks me off when Disney sends their special "offers" out and they are really just rack rates. That sucks!

I am waiting with you for passholder rates in August to be announced....I am currently booked (room only) at the Animal Kingdom from August 12 - August 26. I have a pool view room because I do not want to pay for a Savannah view room. When I originally booked back in January, I was really hoping that they would offer free Disney Dining starting August 12th. My plan was to change my reservation as soon as Dining was announced. Now that I know that they are not offering Free Dining while I am there, I am hoping that they will offer a great passholder rate. I was very smart to upgrade my park pass to an AP last October when we were there - I did this just in case they did not offer Free Dining this year. Now I am hoping to change my reservation if/when the Passholder rates are announced.

My dilemma is this: I definitely do want a room only rate if no passholder rates are announced. I definitely want to stay at the AKL and my dates can not be changed. I either want to take advantage of the passholder rates (in which case I would purchase a DDE card) or I want to switch to a 14 night package and pay for Disney Dining (I would only get a 1 day base ticket since I have an AP. The rest of my family does not have an AP so I would upgrade their passes to 10 day with waterpark as soon as we get there). I am worried that if the rooms start to fill up at the AKL then I will not be able to modify my reservation in June. Should I modify my reservation now (to the package that included paid Disney Dining) - at least I would know that one of my two preferences has been satisfied. This way if June comes along and Passholder rates are announced, but AKL is fully booked then I am still happy????? I spoke with Disney Reservations and they said that I can not add Disney Dining and Tickets to a Room only reservation. The first reservation must be cancelled and a new one must be made.

I would appreciate any suggestions

Thanks

Sorry I made a typo in my previous posting. Instead of saying "I definitely do want a room only rate if no passholder rates are announced. " , I should have said "I definitely do NOT want a room only rate if no passholder rates are announced."

Well - April is quickly coming to a close - we are that much closer to finding out if and how much of a discount we will get for summer months - and especially AUGUST!!!! YAY! :woohoo:

I just got a postcard in the snail-mail today from Disney Destinations. It's really cute, with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Here's what it says:

"Disney Value Resort rates are down, down, down compared to last year! Rates at Disney Value Resorts most nights 8/5 to 8/26/07 are over 15% less than rates during these dates in 2006! $82 per night, plus tax in a standard room.

Rooms could book up fast. So don't be late for this very impressive rate! Call 407-939-7788 or your travel agent."

There is no code on the card, and no pin. They know we are planning a January trip, but keep sending us postcards to try to get us to come earlier ;) Wish I could, but can't, so I'll lurk on the January boards, but thought I'd pass this info to you who are heading out in August!

:goodvibes

$82 is the rack rate.

I just spoke to a CM and he stated that he wouldn't be surprised if room only and AP discounts come out for August. Still keeping my fingers crossed!

All these posts on this thread really get my hopes up for nothing :lmao: I get all excited when I see something new on the thread and think, oh here are the discounts, and then nothing...boo hiss. :rotfl: keep em coming everyone and good luck to us all!

Hi. Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm a newbie. We are going on our first family trip in August and I'm a bit confused over these codes. We already booked our hotel and package. If these codes come out for August, what do I actually do? Can I now get some money back?
Thanks in advance!
