Official "Castle" thread! Spoilers welcomed!

When I told my mom that Captain Roy Montgomery would be coming back she replied by asking, "What? As a ghost?" :rotfl2: I don't think they could pull off that he faked his death. But there's only so many ways that you can bring back a character that died. Another option is a dream sequence.

Any Criminal Minds fans one here? They had any episode where they brought back Hotch's dead wife and the serial killer that killed her (who is also dead) for a very bizarre dream sequence. If CM can pull it off, so can Castle. :rolleyes1

I'm going to try to have my recap marathon tonight. *makes a list of all the episodes mentioned*

and who knows? could have been a mistake! :lmao:

If it's true, I'm betting on something in Rick's imagination. As soon as I heard ninjas, I thought of Rick.

I was thinking a little more about the Lazarus reveal. There is a real chance that Smith is still alive. Rick & Kate left him for a while. We do see the doctors & nurses - if they are indeed doctors & nurses - pull the sheet up over a body, but we don't see a face. And of course, he did tell Rick & Kate the best thing is to "disappear", and he certainly had the juice to do it.

I just rewatched that episode. You can see his face before they pull the sheet over. He still could have faked his death if the hospital staff was in on it.

I was working from memory - I'll have to go back & watch. But either way, it is certainly possible that he's dead or that he's not. :rotfl:

Last night I thought of another way that they could bring Captain Roy Montgomery back. One that Castle would LOVE. They could bring him back as a zombie! :rotfl2:

I watched "In the Belly of the Beast" again tonight on the big screen HD TV. And boy is the torture scene that much harder to watch in HD! And I couldn't decide if Kate has a furry blanket draped over her or wearing a fur coat (of Martha's, LOL) in the end scene.

But that was a great episode! Lots of great twists & turns. And man, Stana Katic is amazing. She blows me away.

First, quotes:

Kate: "Oh, I like that one. You?"
Rick: "Mm, I'm not really feeling it, though I guess, uh, you could convince me."
Kate: "I bet I could."
Rick: "Yeah, I mean, you'd have to work pretty hard to win me over, but, um..."
Kate: "Well, I'm prepared to do just that. Because it's clear to me that what we both need right now is a really good font."
Rick: "Yes, we do. That's so true."

Beckett: "This is heaven."
Castle: "You mean spending the day with your future husband?"
Beckett: "No, not that."
(her fumbling there made me think of the proposal!)

Beckett: "There's no work, no goals other than to waste hours on end."
Castle: "Okay, stop describing my life."

end of the fluffy quotes!

Espo: "She might be your fiance, but she's also a damn good cop. So don't sell her short."

and the 2 great Kate quotes:

Beckett: "I need you to know that our partnership, our relationship, is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. You're an amazing man and I love you with all of my heart. Always."
(from the letter)

Beckett: "When they were interrogating me, the only thing that kept me going was thinking about you, about our future, the wedding. You were with me the whole time."
(at the end after Castle jokes about "leaving her alone")

So many great scenes too!

Of course, the whole opening scene - in their pjs, discussing the fonts, discussing how she can talk him into that font, how they need a "good font", and then Castle after Gates' call - his little dance & his need to "focus".

Loved Gates giving her an out.

I loved the letter. Kate has always been a character of action, not words. And yes, she has been saying "I love you" a lot this year. But we don't often hear her feelings about Rick. She doesn't have a regular sounding board like he has in his mom. And when I hear her voice saying "our partnership - our relationship - is the best thing that has ever happened to me. You're an amazing man & I love you with all of my heart" I cry. Not ashamed to say that either.

Like I said before, the water torture scenes were brutal to watch. And when VS pulls her out of the water that last time, and her eyes roll to the back of her head, woah. I was just reading on Twitter (from tweets from SK's stunt double) that SK did all the water scenes herself. But --- the ice was fake & the water was warm, so at least there's that. Jonathan Adams, who plays Vulcan Simmons, has a fantastic voice (in fact, that's how I knew who it was)

a few other things:
I never read credits the first time thru an episode, so I didn't see Jack Coleman's name there. I follow a few people on Twitter who are lucky enough to get to see the episodes beforehand, and they all recommended not to try to guess who the "bad guy" was. So I never looked at imdb beforehand either. If I had looked at the credits, I would have missed VS because I didn't remember the actor's name. Of course, I would have remembered JC but I had kinda guessed it was him. By the way, neither Adams nor Coleman's name is on the cast list on imdb right now (at least they weren't 15 minutes ago)
TVLine takes ABC to task:

I won't be surprised if it turns out that Fowler is a Bracken guy too (as you guys discussed the other day)

Interesting that Harden & Jones stepped out the room, leaving "Elena" in it alone. (the scene were Kate calls the precinct)

Lucky thing Frank Potter had beet juice & ketchup.

That was certainly one of the most dramatic episodes of Castle. I don't think I'll show that one to my 11 yr old niece, that's for sure. But I think I am slowly sucking dad in....tonight he was going to a dance, had a few minutes to watch TV before he left. Came in & sat with me watching the episode - and didn't leave until it was over. And he didn't talk during it either - a sure sign he was hooked!

5 years ago today, Castle's 1st episode aired. Wow.

And an FYI or 2 or 3:

no episode tomorrow, new or repeat.

For those who want to watch from the beginning, TNT will be airing "Flowers For Your Grave" on March 19 at 5 PM.

Since there was no episode last night, I thought I'd share 2 little Castle-related tidbits.

I read a lot of different types of stuff. In the last book I finished & the one I'm in the middle of right now, I found some Castle inspired stuff.

In the first one, Silenced by Allison Brennan, a FBI agent to be works with the DC police for a bit on a case. The female detective she's working with mentions how helpful she's been. that "It's not like you're an untrained crime writer on a perpetual ride-along." and she also mentions "I love that television show, even if they get procedure all wrong."

Then in the one I'm reading now, Watch Your Back by Karen Rose, a cop and her daughter have to go into hiding. The man they are staying with is a retired cop and he has 4 puppies. Their names? Mannix, Rockford, Pepper and Beckett. (for those of you not old enough to remember, Angie Dickinson played Sgt. Pepper Anderson on Police Woman, a show that was on NBC from 1974 to 1978. Bonus for Big Bang Theory Fans: Angie was mentioned on the episode with James Earl Jones) (ETA: realized that some of you might not know the Mannix or Rockford references either. Mannix was a late 60s - early 70s show about a PI; Rockford Files (70s-early 80s) starred James Garner as a PI as well.)

Home sick for 3 days, I'm bored out of my skull.

;)

And it was funny. We need a fun episode.

I'm sorry you're home sick. And that you're bored. But also glad you were home so you could see that & share it.

And I agree - we do need a light hearted episode, and this looks like it fits the bill!

For anyone with the Cooking Channel, Nathan Fillion will be on Dinner with Tiffani (that would be Tiffani Thiessen) on March 23 at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST.

new episode tonight!

Did anyone watch Crisis last night? If you did, did you recognize the 2 Castle bad guys who were bad guys on Crisis? they had at least 1 scene together...
