Going in December and I haven't gotten a single ADR I wanted.

Wanted to eat at 1900 Park Faire the 2nd night or Chef Mickey's the 2nd day for breakfast (our flight doesn't land until 5 pm). Have struck out, but will keep trying.

What I wanted was either 1/2 Star Wars and 1/2 Princess, literallly half and half, or maybe a princess facing away from Luke with a LIghtsaber.

We watch Ace of Cakes and DD4 has been talking about a cake with Cinderella getting out of her Coach and DS8 is obsessed with Star Wars and Indiana Jones, so that was the only way I could think to combine them. Don't want an edible image either (the edible photo kind).

Any ideas?

And any ideas if I simply can't get the ADRs? We're staying at SSR and did manage to score Rose and Crown for like the 4th night but every other ADR is just not available right now.

DH and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary. Any suggestions on a cake?
thanks

Jenny:

It will come down several questions.

1. Where are you dining?
2. What do you like?
3. Do you have favorite characters?
4. Do you want a "wedding" type cake or a "fun" cake?
5. Do you want extravagant or simple?
6. What are your wedding colors? (Some use this for decorations)

The list could go on and on... but lets start there!

Hey all! I've been loving the cake thread! The pictures and info are amazing! I think when we go in Feb on Valentine's Day I want to have a mickey head cake - the $48 one from Boardwalk or GF, delivered to our room, but didn't know if they do that. Anyone done that before?

I do not believe they deliver to the rooms at the mods or values. You would have to go to the Boardwalk to pick it up.

Ok Jenny, Here is my thought. First off... go to the cake gallery here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2118274
There are several anniversary cakes as well as other cakes to look at to give you an idea. I don't know when you are going but if you are going on your anniversary which I would assume, then you may want to call soon to order. You will call the GF directly and you may end up talking to Pat. Not sure if that is who does the ordering for Narcoosees but someone there can help you talk out your ideas. I just ordered a cake for 1900 Park Fare from Pat and although it is not an anniversary cake I wanted it Christmas themed. I ordered an 8" with red fondant. White cake with chocolate buttercream frosting and filling. There will be gold stamped mickeys an other characters on the outside of the cake and on top will be christmas colored flowers and snowflakes. You could request something similar with some sort of Cinderella and Prince Charming. I know you can actually get a white chocolate Cinderellas Castle on top but it is HUGE and EXPENSIVE, I think it is $100 alone. But she may be able to suggest a few things. They can do whatever you want as long as you have an idea of which direction you want to go and the budget you have in mind. My cake is going to be $85.00. I would happy to help you in any way I can and there are alot of experienced others on here as well! :santa:

thanks! when we married we didnt have a groomscake, and i really wanted to surprise him. so after months of pouring over pics here and elsewhere and having friends help me on fb on what characters to have on top, i finally got it all together. plus he's in the military so it was a perfect choice.

Hey! Does the Boardwalk Bakery deliver to any Disney restaurant? I've seen lots of posts about them delivering to some. What about Rainforest Cafe in DTD? Has anyone had a cake delivered there?

Help! I'm overwhelmed! I have looked over this board and I think I'm in cake overload! I want to order a cake for my DS birthday (6th) on our next trip. We will be having dinner our first night at Whispering Canyon, I would like to have the cake on our first night so we can snack on it the next day or so.
Has any one had a cake delivered to whispering canyon and if so how do I go about getting one delivered!

Curious about this as well. We are having Dinner at WCC for my son's 5th bday. I would like to know the options. I called asking some questions but the CM I was talking to did not have any answers for me so someone is going to call me back.:confused3

I know you can get cakes at WCC. I have not done it personally but I believe they are not "disney" themed cakes. I believe the most custom you can get is a few flowers and some writing. There is a pic on here several pages back of one from WCC.

Here are two cakes from WCC I found on page 174.
We ordered this cake for my parents 50th anniversary party which we celebrated at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in January 2008.

This is a cake that we got a few years ago. I want to say it was October of 2006. It was an 8" or 10" marble cake with buttercream frosting and filling. Incredibly tasty and moist. We had four adults and two children in the party and we were able to eat on that cake for a week.

Hi everyone!

My family is heading to WDW for my daughter's first birthday in February. I was wondering if anyone had any pictures or suggestions for a 1st birthday cake for her. I know it's more for us than her, but it's the memories (and pictures) that count!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will be ordering a Mickey Head cake from the MK bakery for our dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. The CM said the icing would be either fondant or marzipan, the decision would be left up to the chef. Not sure if our friend likes fondant or marzipan so I asked if I could request piped icing instead and was told "no". She said they no longer take special requests on any of their cakes because too many people were disappointed or upset with the way the cake turned out. Anyone have a picture of the Mickey cake you got from the MK bakery recently? I haven't ordered the cake yet, might call back this week and talk to another CM aand see what they say. The person I spoke with said that anyone could take my order.
Thanks

Marzipan?? Wow, I've never heard of a cake with that on it before. Usually the Mickey cakes have ganche or frosting pipping on it.

I'd call back and ask again and ask for ganach or frosting.

I think I know the answer to this but will ask the cake experts anyway...

Anyone know if I can get a custom cake delivered to Tony's in the MK or will I be stuck with the small podium cakes there?

Thanks!
