we weren't just happy, we were overjoyed! The cake was the perfect end to a great meal. They were unable to show Wishes that night, and I was afraid that it would really put a damper on the evening, but the whole event was a delight!

So, I'm trying again tomorrow with the fax, if that fails anyone have any other bright ideas?? I'm only after a Mickey Head cake! nothing too elaborate.

I was trying for POFQ as we'll be in MK/Tony's for Dinner on his actual birthday and I really don;t want to be carrying leftover cake around with us. So, anyone any ideas - please :worship: Can I order direct with BW bakery and ask them to deliver to hotel? Would they charge me for this?

I don't think the Moderate resorts are really set up to handle cake requests. Whenever we hear of it happening, it always sounds like it took a miracle...

You definitely can order a Mickey Head from the BoardWalk Bakery. They *may* be able to deliver it for you, but the charge could be hefty. Then again, maybe you'll get some pixie dust. I say call them! :thumbsup2

BoardWalk Inn Main Number (ask to be transferred):407-939-5100

here is my goofy cake for my Dad's 60th birthday at the California Grill. 10 in. with white cake and white buttercream frosting. It had strawberry cream in between the layers and was amazing.

May I ask how much that ran?

I want to celebrate DD's 9th birthday. We are dining at Whispering canyon on our last night, where is the best place to order a cake, do i just call the hotline?

So i try and switch ressies to 1900 park fare, so that i can get a GF cake?

can you order a Mickey head cake to pick up at the bakery in the Magic Kingdom?:confused3

No - they only have the same previously frozen 6-inch cake that you get at the podium of most restaurants.

Yes!

I'd only switch to the GF if you wanted a fancy cake or special flavors. But see what Whispering Canyon can give you!

Ok, So I called Pat yesterday about the Jack Skellington Cake! And I got a machine and left my number and what I wanted! She called me back today! She was soooooooo nice!!! I told her I was looking for a 6 inch cake Choc w/ Choc buttercreme and I wanted Jack Skellington on it! She was ike who was that? I said you know the skellington from Nightmare before Christmas and she was like yes Jack? ok. My DD loves him! So she said we have some really cute ones of him we'll make it really fun! I can't wait to see this cake! It was $21 + $30 for the image so $51 total! And she said that they will add it to our bill at the GF Cafe that night! :woohoo:

Thanks, lurkyloo. I think I will try to order it from the Boardwalk Bakery and pick it up. I could walk over to Boardwalk from the EPCOT International Gateway, pick up the cake and then go back thru EPCOT to get the bus back to our resort. Does that sound doable without the cake melting?

I would probably take a cab from the BW back to your hotel to save the hassle

This whole cake thread has been very interesting to me. We are going to Disney at the end of Sept to celebrate a number of big family events --

1) Our son's adoption
2) My SIL's 30th
3) Niece's sweet 16
4) FIL's birthday
5) IL's anniversary

We are planning 3 group dinners -- Mickey's BBQ, 'Ohanas, and another to be determined. Love to surprise everyone with a grand celebration cake. First question: can we get such a cake at either of our already chosen locations (maybe 'Ohana)? Next question: if these locations don't work where could we do it and meet the eating needs of a big group who range in age from a year to 82? Finally, any suggestions about how to decorate a cake that will celebrate our family's many wonderful events?

Thanks!

Kathie

ITA - or if you want the bus transportation take a boat from Boardwalk to Studios, walk to the resort bus from the boat dock - I think it would be less walking to a bus....
