We will be celebrating my daughters' 8th b-day at the Whispering Canyon and I would like to order her a cake. She really loves anything Disney, but especially loves ducks. I was wondering if they do specific character cakes, like maybe Donald and Daisy? I don't want to be over the top, but do want it to look unique and fun for her. This thread is so long I am not even sure if this was already mentioned, so I apologize if this is a repeat. thanks!!!

WCC will do a basic cake with flowers and text but that is about it. The cake we had there in Oct. '07 was wonderful - very moist and yummy!

Okay I think I have this right, but I want to make sure. We are staying at CBR. I want to order a Mickey head cake for DS. If I order this cake and have it delivered to our room it will come from the Boardwalk Bakery, right? :confused3 I feel so lost with all this cake stuff!

Anyone?

I don't think it will come from the Boardwalk Bakery. I think it would come from CBR's bakery.. if it has one?
I know CBR has a sitdown restaurant, so I would imagine they have their own bakery. Besides, CBR and the Boardwalk are fairly far away from each other, aren't they?

I do not think that CBR has it's own bakery and I also do not think they deliever to the room. I thought if you did order a cake there, it had to be picked up at the food court. :confused3

I thought that was only values. I've read other posts of cakes being delivered to the room specifically at CBR. Maybe it's changed?

One more question--now that I am on a cake kick, I am thinking about getting a cake for Mother's Day (less than two weeks from now). We're havign a late breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe. I wonder if htey will put "Happy Mother's Day" on the 6" podium cake. Or is it worth the extra $$ for a custom cake? I have heard the podium cakes aren't that great in the first place, do the custom cakes taste that much better? I would want the smallest size available, so that would be 8" for a custom, correct? Sorry for all the questions, but I get a little obsessed when I learn about something new Disney-related, and I need answers fast so I can put in a Mother's Day order!

Anyone???

I believe the podium cakes are generic - no writing on them, and they dont add writing (but it could have changed in a year or so since I researched the cake) You could bring a cake icing gel with you - :wizard: It is the thought that counts - and I would do the podium cake over spending $50 for a custom cake - so not worth $50 imho (and we've order 3 - 4 cakes over the years, its teh price increase and the taste decrease that is getting me!)

I believe that the cakes delivered to the rooms are either concierge guests, or there is the celebration order - but again, its been a few years... I'll try google... most things come up say no delivery to room... but I dont know from experience

I just ordered a Castle Mini Cake for my DD's birthday at 1900 Park Fare. They raised the price to $30 for this cake. Didn't know if this has been posted yet or not. Will post a picture when we come back if I can figure out how!:scratchin

I just got a phone call back from the cake hotline from a Jules or Julie. She said she finished with her April orders and moved on to her May orders.

I ordered a Plan A and a Plan B cake, since cake choices are very limited. It is either the 6" podium for $21; 8" limited personalized for $32 or the 10" Mickey Mouse head in chocolate for $48.

I ordered a 8" with vanilla filling/buttercream (it was either vanilla or chocolate, no other filling available) and to have Happy 15th Birthday on top with flowers & strawberries for Plan A.

Plan B was same as above but with edible art of Sleeping Beauty.

She said she would send Plan A to the chef today and see what he says. If the answer is no, she will call me back and let me know it is Plan B.

She was very personable and the call lasted almost 22 minutes. I did try to confirm her name, but either she didn't tell me or she didn't catch my question. :confused3 Considering how personable she was, I'm assuming she just didn't catch my question.

I was just happy to get the order in before we left tomorrow! :yay:

I want to order a custom cake for my DH's b-day from the Boardwalk Bakery. We are staying at BWV and I want to just pick up the cake from the Bakery and bring it back to our room and eat it there. Do I call Boardwalk Bakery directly and tell them what I want? Since it's not going to be delivered to a room or restaurant the cake hotline doesn't seem to apply here, right?

Thanks!

I'd like to know this too. I want to pick up a mini wedding cake.
Thx!

Where is CR Bakery? Also, can you order from a hotel bakery & go pick it up to take to another resturant or will they deliver it to the resturaunt? Sorry if its already been posted, but i have a newborn & very little time. lol

No. The resort bakeries only cater to their guests/restaurants.

The only actual bakery you can pick up a cake from is the Boardwalk Bakery.

Can anyone tell me how much the mini celebration cakes are?
Has anyone also gotton the party favors and pop-up centerpiece? Did you like them and how much are they?

Does anyone know if Crystal Palace does special birthday cakes as well if you order ahead?

I'm not feeling the magic of the cake hotline or ordering through Pat at GF. I just got quoted $120 for a two tier (3 inch on 6 inch) chocolate cake with a white castle topper, white buttercream with yellow scallops, a red rose with green stem and glitter dust. I had figures I was going to provide for the cake. I was told this was a total custom cake and it was 'labor intensive' to make. DH said I should pay it but I think it's exhorbitant. They usually decorate the castle cakes with scallops and a rose, I don't see how adding color to them makes it 'labor intensive.'
