we often do breakfast at cape may on the morning we are leaving wdw. it is a wonderful caracter breakfast, wonderful food and everyone in the family loves it. :thumbsup2that always leaves us with a great memory of our last wdw event.:goodvibes

i know this is off subject, but had to tell you how much we love cape may.

Thanks to all of you who have provided cake/dessert information on this board! :worship:

Y'all made it so easy for me today when I spoke with the lady from the Disney Cake Hotline. I knew exactly what I wanted and was able to order the Mickey head cake for my DH's 40th birthday when we eat at Tony's Town Square for dinner on our first night at WDW--he'll be so surprised!

Also, I ordered 2 of the Cinderella's slipper desserts for my DDs 10 and 8 when we eat at CRT. Just a little something special to wish them a "magical day"! princess:

I really appreciate everyone who shares their experiences and photos!

Can anyone tell me if I can get a custom cake at Nine Dragons?

We want to have the cake at a restaurant we will not be eating dessert at. I see Marrakesh is on the list on the first page of one of the older threads (and would change the ADR's around and have the birthday meal there if I had to), but really wanted Nine Dragons.

TIA

Here is a list of our dining places....which one would you choose to order a DS (7) and DD (5) birthday cake???

Chef Mickey's - Dinner
Crystal Palace - Dinner
Spirit Aloha Dinner - Early Dinner
Tusker House - Breakfast
...or pick up a cake at Board Walk Bakery??

**I would like something done in fondant with mickey & minnie on it....bright colors - red, yellow, black....(mickey/minnie) colors.

I am searching for a picture....of what I would like to order, but I need some opinions.....Thanks!!princess:

bump....popcorn::

Anyone have any experience with ordering a cafe for the Rose & Crown at Epcot?

My niece is celebrating her 15th birthday dinner at Rose & Crown.princess:

I wanted to order something with strawberries and Sleeping Beauty. I plan on calling in another week to see what I can order.

I have never done this before and I love this thread! I see that there are other threads and I'll look them too for ideas and information.

Thanks! :goodvibes

I recommend that both of you ask for specific details, if you order from the Epcot cake line. We celebrated our DS's 17th at Biergarten in Feb. The lady I spoke to was very nice, but the cake wasn't what I expected. She described it as an 8", chocolate on chocolate cake, w/ a disc of Dopey. She quoted a price of $41. FYI, the only choices I was given was chocolate on chocolate or white on white. I was expecting a two layer cake w/ a white chocolate disc featuring Dopey. Actually, the cake could have been 8 inches, but not what I was imagining. It was a single layer square cake, w/ an edible image of Dopey that was too big for the cake. They draped some of the image over the sides. The cake tasted like a flourless chocolate cake w/ chocolate icing. It was very dry. We each ate a bite of it, & that was all we wanted. It reminded me of an Easy Bake Oven cake. I told our server I didn't think it was right to be charged $41 for the cake we got. She said the price they had on the cake was $34. I have no idea where that price came from. That wasn't any of the quoted prices the lady on the cake line gave me. :confused3 We were going to chalk it up to a lesson learned, but our server & the manager were nice enough to not charge us. :goodvibes Anyway, if you can't order directly from the restaurant (we couldn't), make sure you know exactly what you're getting from the cake line.

I agree. They have your dates and they should have known you would not be home no matter the problem. Now, I am really going to throw them for a loop come Monday. I found out today that my DDBF has berry allergies so I will have to change the filling. I sure hope they get it right.

I called and was able to change the filling without a problem. It will now be white chocolate mousse filling.

Has anyone had any experience with ordering a cake at California Grill? My DH and I would love to celebrate our anniversary there and order a special cake to celebrate 20 years of marriage.:goodvibes
TIA

No cake for my daughter's b'day today......they did not get all the allergies right.

I would go with Chef Mickey's or order one from the Boardwalk. I think someone said previously which bakeries do fondant, since not all of them do. I think it's two pages before this one. Good luck!

If I order a cake to CRT do I have to carry it around the rest of the day or can I pick it up on the way out of the park :)

They wouldn't hold our cake for us. My DH actually ran it back to the resort and came back to the park to meet us. It took him 3 hrs.

I have read before though that people have left it there and picked it up later. I guess it's all in who you ask. Next time I will give ours away to fellow diners.

From what I understnd, they will not hold the cake for you. Either you carry it around or leave the leftovers behind.

Sorry I did not read all of the posts so if this is a repeat sorry in advance.

We are having a 25th wedding celebration in our DVC grand villa. Can I have a cake delivered or do I have to pick it up? I am gathering the Grand Floridian is the best place to order from. Please offer your opinions. Again, sorry if asked and answered. TIA

Thanks for the replies, yes I just spoke to them and they say I have to carry the cake with me.
I was going to order the mickey head and the table centre piece and goody bag but they tell me the goody bags are only available at CP is this correct.

Also has anyone had a cake delivered to AKL, just wondering what they have to offer :)
